When Robots, Bison, and the Ogopogo all find themselves in the same video you know it must be a product of Winnipeg’s Oldfolks Home.Ricardo Lopez-Aguilar’s new video for “Garland’s Moving to Vancouver”brings his electro-pop sensibilities on screen and marries them with the positive side of very personal stories. “We wanted to show the conflicting feelings of starting a new life and wanting to stay where you feel comfortable,” says Lopez-Aguilar. “And we wanted it to be fun.”
“Garland’s Moving to Vancouver”, is one of the first singles off Oldfolks Home’s upcoming album, Black & Blue, out on Head in the Sand, and available to stream right now.
Billed as the world’s first happy divorce album, Black & Blue, is both haunting and danceable. Album tracks “Sleeper” and “It Scares Me” reveal the intimate side of Lopez-Aguilar’s spirit lifting journey through one marriage and one divorce.
In support of Black & Blue, Oldfolks Home will tour North America with a wave of three-dimensional performances that will bring Lopez-Aguilar’selectronic pop missives to life from New York to Vancouver.
