“impossibly catchy”  NPR

“charmingly evocative”  TIME

“ …a perfectly eerie throwback piece of indie pop.” – NYLON

“ …full of charming, winsome (but not too winsome) indiepop that will appeal to fans of Camera Obscura and The Rosebuds.” – BrooklynVegan

“ …brings listeners back to the heyday of bossa nova and lounge tunes, while adding its own electronica flair.” – MAGNET

Radiation City will release their highly anticipated sophomore studio album Animals In The Median, May 21, 2013 via Tender Loving Empire. Effortlessly bending genres, the quintet will take audiences on a journey through time as they kick off a national spring US tour this month.

Portland-based Radiation City has previously revealed album teaser tracks “Foreign Bodies” & “Zombies”. The band met with VICE to discuss AITM in their hometown. Check out the story published today which includes the premiere of a third album track, “So Long.” Turning Motown inside out with funky bass lines, catchy church organs and vintage vocal arrangements, check out the “So Long” stream HERE. As a special thanks from the band, those who pre-order the new album will also receive the “So Long” MP3 immediately upon purchase!

The band has also revealed a new live Foreign Bodies” video shot by Into the Woods under the awe-inspiring span of the Astoria–Megler Bridge. Premiered with Portland Monthly, it’s the third in a series of videos celebrating Portland-based Fort George Brewery’s Tender Loving Empire Northwest Pale Ale.

“So Long” stream & “Foreign Bodies” video!

From their use of modern electronic sounds and the restraint of classic bossa records, to the urgency and harmony of northern soul, Radiation City has codified seemingly disparate ideas into a sound and ethos that is at once refreshing and classic. The band has shared stages with Pickwick, Caveman, YACHT, The Walkmen, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and more. Be sure to catch the band’s entrancing live show on tour later this month!
