Peek-A-Boo Records is proud to announce thatAustin’s favorite experimental pop band, The Octopus Project, will return with their 5th studio album Fever Forms on July 9th, 2013.

Where its predecessor (2010’s Hexadecagon) went wide-screen and cosmic, Fever Forms is more representative of The Octopus Project live experience – dense and ecstatic, a concentrated dose of frenetic beats and exuberant melody set in a brilliantly-colored sound world. The first single (the infectious “Whitby”) is available now as a download — complete with exclusive b-sides, music video & a karaoke version(!). Pre-order details for the album to be announced shortly, including deluxe bundles featuring some excellent surprises. Stay tuned!

Some facts about the record:

Fever Forms was recorded by the band in a museum carved out of a mountain and mixed in collaboration with the mighty Erik Wofford (Black AngelsM. WardMaserati).

Fever Forms is the strongest horse.
Fever Forms is living in the future and the past at the same time.
Fever Forms is winning the largest trophies.
Fever Forms is 10,000 giga-pets doing flips in unison.
Fever Forms is a tattoo of an 18-wheeler bursting out of your chest.
Fever Forms is post-ears, pre-brains.

The Octopus Project has been releasing joyous party music since 2002, all the while touring the world both on their own and as handpicked support for artists as diverse as Aesop RockDEVO, and Explosions in the Sky. They’ve earned a reputation as a band that creates exceptional experiences through elaborate multimedia experimentslavish album packaging, and the intensity of their extremely fun, extremely loud live shows. The band plans to hit the road again in August in support of Fever Forms. Tour dates coming soon!
