Wooden Indian Burial Ground hails from Portland, Oregon. Happy to take influence from grey skies, early sci-fi novels, fuzz pedals and homemade drone boxes, WIBG formed as a duo in Portland, Oregon in 2008. Soon after, they took sail in a rickety ship called “The Blue Whale”, making a glorious racket across the United States and releasing an 11 track album of drunken-funeral-folk tunes in 2009 entitled My Bones They Are Naked. Since the band has grown in numbers and signed with Mon Amie Records of Brooklyn, NY in 2011. A two song, 16 minute/45 rpm/10” entitled “Sunbeams and the Cosmic Ascent to Nowheresville” is now available, and a self titled LP will be released on cassette on October 4, 2012, and on vinyl on October 30, 2012. “Wooden Indian Burial Ground is playing with dirt under its fingernails and tear-stained cheeks. Its clattering, stomping brand of folk-blues, as evidenced on its debut homespun CD, My Bones They Are Naked, aches under the weight of the hard days that follow a few too many wild nights. It’s boozy, woozy music at its finest, so don’t be surprised or ashamed if you feel the urge to tip a few drinks back as you listen to it.” – WILLAMETTE WEEK

“Wooden Indian Burial Ground invigorates the spirit of time-tested Americana with compositions that’ll both raise your neck hairs and help the whiskey go down. WIBG’s self released debut sound like ghosts jamming through thin walls, mastering the marimba, bass, and banjo they picked up in some other dimension.” – SL WEEKLY
