MY HEART TO FEAR’s debut full-length, Algorithm, out July 9th on Solid State Records

Just months after making waves with their blistering EP Lost Between Brilliance and Insanity, Williamsport, PA metallers MY HEART TO FEAR are set to release their debut full-length album, Algorithm, in stores and online July 9th via Solid State Records.

Algorithm builds off of the promise shown on Lost Between…, reinforcing to a wider audience what the band’s carefully cultivated fanbase had previously known – that MY HEART TO FEAR’s uncompromising metal attack couldn’t be kept a secret for long.

With Algorithm, the cat is out of the bag for good thanks in no small part to the band’s commitment to honing their sound and their resolve to approach songwriting their own way and not cater to what an audience is presumed to want.

The 11 track album was recorded at Atrium Audio with Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (AUGUST BURNS RED) and features notable guest appearances such as Ricky Armellino of THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE (eOne Entertainment).
For track listing and cover art:
“On Algorithm, the breakdowns are catchier, the vocals are better and are beyond appropriate for the music,” explains vocalist Trevor Pool. “No single part, instrument or effect is overused. There’s no filler. Everything is exactly where it needs to be. Nowhere was there something added just for the sake of adding something. Most importantly, we made the decision to write what we felt needed to be in the songs – nothing was written under the shadow of ‘what will please the most amount of ears.’”
While MY HEART TO FEAR remained focused on their own vision during the writing process, the band maintains a level of gratitude towards its fans that is rarely seen. That sincerity and honesty shines through in the band’s every move, and will continue to direct MY HEART TO FEAR’s actions in the future.
“Fans don’t get enough credit from bands,” explains Pool. “They are the reason a band can succeed. Since we released the first EP, we have had a surplus of people that have shown their incredible love and support for us and we hope to give back that same love with this record.”

MY HEART TO FEAR Release Lyric Video for “Dear Mr. White”

Pennsylvania metalers MY HEART TO FEAR are set to release their Solid State Records debut, Lost Between Brilliance and Insanity, December 4th. Through a partnership with Hot Topic, physical copies of the release will be exclusively found in any of the chain’s more than 600 stores, while the digital release will hit all traditional digital outlets.

Building anticipation for the EP, the band has released a lyric video for “Dear Mr. White,” a track that represents the band’s approach on Lost Between… – technical riffs, swaggering vocals and sky-high choruses, elements that helped MY HEART TO FEAR build its fervent fanbase over several self-released efforts.

The Williamsport, PA-based act hails from the same geographic region and musical circles that spawned a number of metalcore successes in recent years – most notably genre giants AUGUST BURNS RED, in addition to the likes of TEXAS IN JULY (Equal Vision) and THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE (eOne Entertainment). While a less confident band may look to steal a page or two out of those artists’ playbooks, MY HEART TO FEAR are intent on forging their own sound.

“When we write music we don’t stick to any one formula,” explains vocalist Trevor Pool. “We don’t write to please a certain group of people or to fit into specific genres. Nor do we sit down with a preconceived idea of what a song should or should not sound like. Instead we allow the music itself to reveal subconscious and spiritual paths. Rather than deriving inspiration solely from music, we find influence in the world around us and aim to transpose these non-musical entities into the musical aspects of a song.”

For MY HEART TO FEAR, their music and their career are built on four pillars of support that have helped the band push on and persevere: Family. Faith. Pride. Brotherhood. It’s a saying that has become something of a mantra for the band and demonstrates their belief that, for as much as they believe in their own abilities, they wouldn’t be where they are without the support of others.
