DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT Announce US Dates @MrSmalls May 5

DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT will return to the road in the US this year with a two week stretch of dates; some of which will see the band playing support for Opeth. The band continues to tour on the strength of their new record, Transcendence. Speaking about their upcoming shows in North America, Devin comments:

“Continuing on our run to support Transcendence, we are coming back to America for a quick run with Opeth and Gojira as well as some additional dates to get us to and from those shows. We are many places this year and are trying to make sure we take advantage of our geographic locations as we roll. The band keeps getting stronger and we look forward to seeing you there!”

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/dvntownsend
Recorded at The Armoury Studios in Vancouver, Canada with Townsend and Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood (Periphery, Animals as Leaders), Transcendence sounds absolutely massive. From the moment ‘Truth’—a re-work from the Infinity album—monstrously blends into the soul-stirring ‘Stormbending’ to the undulating cool of mid-point jam ‘Secret Sciences’ and Ween cover ‘Transdermal Celebration’, Townsend and crew have engineered a modern-day classic. The sheer scale of tracks like ‘Failure’, ‘Higher’, and the majestic title track is at once daunting and inviting. Transcendence pulls the listener in like a movie score. It has the emotional heft of Rosenman’s Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and the mega-riff power of Black-era Metallica.

Cattle Decapitation recently joined forces with Brujeria for a USA tour in support of their most recent full-length, 2015’s The Anthropocene Extinction. Constricting Rage Of The Merciless can be previewed and purchased at: metalblade.com/goatwhore

Since the release of their new album, Proponent for Sentience, this past September, Allegaeonhas shared the stage with the likes of Black Sabbath, Disturbed, Megadeth and more at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, as well as joined label-mates Battlecross and Necromancing the Stone for the annual “Winter Warriors Tour”. Oct 21 @Mr.Smalls // LANY — #1 New Artist on Billboard and Spotify

LA-based band LANY has launched the Kinda Tour, coming to Pittsburgh on Friday, October 21stat Mr. Smalls!

LANY will be on tour to support their latest EP kinda and just completed a number of summer festivals such asBonaroo, Firefly, Hangout, Outside Lands and more. As the most streamed artist through Spotify‘s Discover Weekly feature, their songs have garnered over 22 million streams on Spotify alone. Billboard also recently announced that LANY is the number one emerging artist after the release of the music video for their single “yea, babe, no way.”

Sounds Like: Electronic pop mixing Eighties flash, blue-eyed soul, and the ongoing search for genuine

connection on a smart phone

For Fans of: Phoenix, fun., Glass Animals

Rolling Stone

“Finding the balance between sensuality and mystery in music is a very delicate process.  Some seem born with the right skill set, like the almighty Prince, effortlessly blending their melodies with the right amounts of desperation and longing. Now, [LANY] are tapping into that same rare talent…” –  Consequence of Sound

“…contains the type of moving intimacy that has attracted the attention of pop, R&B and electronica fans over the past few months.” – Billboard

“LANY are the alternative synth threesome out to take over not just the East and West coasts of America but the entire world…” – Wonderland

Leading the charge is alternative group LANY, whose single “ILYSB” is the most-streamed of all the songs that have ever been featured on Discover Weekly. The band is also the most-streamed act ever from the feature, so it’s clear that when the world grows to know LANY and they begin selling out arenas, they will have to thank Spotify for at least some of that success. – FORBES

“LANY are the alternative synth threesome out to take over not just the East and West coasts of America but the entire world…” – Wonderland

LANY recently concluded their first headline tour which SOLD OUT well before the band played the first show, with the demand to accommodate fans resulting in extra dates being added and rooms extended.  With performances at Bonnaroo, Sasquatch and Firefly, as well as 14-dates opening for Oh Wonder already under their belt this summer, the trio will also be performing at Outside Lands and Life is Beautiful later this year. PRESS HERE for more information.

LANY (comprised of Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss) happened organically.  It began when the former school friends collaborated on songs that Klein had written and within days they had created a clutch of anthems that were too good to ignore.  Even at this early stage, their songs have connected on a large scale: the blissful dream-pop of “ILYSB” made big waves when they put it online and has over 15 million Spotify plays so far.  Their single “Where The Hell Are My Friends” is already nudging 4 million plays in a matter of weeks.  LANY create music that makes the intimate feel universal and connects them indelibly with their growing fanbase.

EYEHATEGOD To Kick Off US Tour With Discharge And Toxic Holocaust

Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe will be filling in for EYEHATEGOD vocalist Mike IX Williams on their upcoming Fall tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust.
Elaborates Williams of the decision, “Once again, rather than cancel an amazing tour, we have chosen for EYEHATEGOD to continue on and give one-thousand-percent. This 2016 Discharge tour is super important to me as that band has been a huge influence on my life, but my health situation right now dictates that I am not able to take the stage and perform to the best of my abilities every single night. This is where our good friend Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God comes into the picture. We’ve known Randall since the early ‘90s when EYEHATEGOD would pass through Virginia and he’d offer for us to crash at his crib after our gigs. Great times and we became great friends. To have Mr. Blythe on board as a fill in for me on vocals for this run is a true ‘circle-stays-unbroken’ turn of events! Coming off the heels of Philip Anselmo doing vocals for EYEHATEGOD on two high profile shows [last month’s performances at Southport Music Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana and the 2016 edition of Gwar BQ in Richmond, Virginia respectively], both of these men are at the top of their game. I am getting the medical help I need and will return to the band as soon as possible. Thank you, everybody… ”
Adds Blythe, “Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a massiveEYEHATEGOD fan. I’ve seen them play more times than I can remember, my old side project covered ‘Dixie Whiskey’ for anEYEHATEGOD tribute album, I wear their merch, I even have a freakingEYEHATEGOD tattoo that I got in New Orleans. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, period. I’ve also been friends with the guys in the band since the ‘90s… actually, I knew them before I knew the dudes in my own band, and EYEHATEGOD would often crash at my crib when they came through Richmond. So it’s a bit difficult for me to say, ‘I’m super-happy that I’ve been asked to fill in for Mike IX Williams on this upcoming tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust.’ In fact, I can’t honestly say that at all because, once again as a fan and, more importantly, a friend, no one would rather see Mike do this tour more than myself. Mike IX is THE voice of EYEHATEGOD, and I respect him as a friend, musician, and writer way too much to ever think otherwise. What Ican say is that I am beyond honored to be serving a brief tour of duty on vocals with EYEHATEGOD for this upcoming run.
When I was asked to fill in for Mike IX due to his health issues, I immediately said, ‘I’ll do it, as long as all of the guys in the band are cool with it, especially Mike; it can’t be any other way.’ I know from talking to him that Mike is very, very bummed to not be on this tour, especially given the fact that the legendary Discharge is one of his all-time favorite bands. In light of that fact alone, it’s a huge testament to the man’s character that he’s being gracious enough to let the band continue to work while he concentrates on his medical issues, which are entirely legitimate and prevent him from taking the stage night after night. The other guys need to keep the band alive while IX gets better. As anyone who has ever seen the band can attest, the stage of an EYEHATEGODshow isn’t exactly the ideal place to rest and recuperate from an illness, and that is the most important thing here: that Mike IX gets better. In order to both give him the time to take care of his health while simultaneously keeping EYEHATEGOD an active working unit, I’ll be proud to do my bit on this tour and take the stage with what is undeniably one of the heaviest bands on earth. It will be a savage experience; I can promise you that. Let the down-to-earth-motherfuckin’-post-amplification-blues begin! Hail Mike IX.”
EYEHATEGOD’s journey with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust will commence on October 6th and run through October 15th trampling ten cities in seven states, the tour concluding with a one-off show in Chicago with Negative Approach and Svlphvrvs. See all confirmed dates below.

_untitled__1EYEHATEGOD reemerged stronger and more determined than ever before with their self-titled LP, which dropped in 2014 via Housecore Records. Reaping critical acclaim globally, the record marks the band’s most successful release in their twenty-five-plus-year lineage. Having helped define the NOLA sound with their signature down-tuned, blues-inflected guitars awash in furious distortion, underpinning the tormented screams of Mike IX Williams over a thundering rhythm section,EyeHateGod personifies desperation and addiction in the various backwaters of forgotten America, punctuated by the “N’awlins” sound of rebellion and pollution resulting in triumph over adversity.

Jim James Announces Solo Album Out 11/4 + Tour

Jim James’ Second Solo Album
Eternally Even
out November 4th

Announces Headline US Tour

“One of rock’s most powerful singers and one of its most fearless architects” -Rolling Stone

Jim James, frontman of My Morning Jacket, announces the release of Eternally Even, out November 4 via ATO/Capitol Records.

Defying categorization, James’ second solo project, Eternally Even, co-produced by Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes) and Jim James, is a heart-thumping call to action. The timing of its release, smack in the middle of election season, is no accident.

“I wanted to make an album that hopefully speaks to the issues of the day, many of which, sadly, are issues we have been dealing with since the beginning of time.” says James. “Most of what I think about right now is how so many things in the world are SO fucked up- our political system is broken and corrupt…our earth is being destroyed by climate change…people are not treating each other with equality and respect… and I think- are we going to make it?  Are we going to figure it out and fix it before it’s too late? Can we ever truly open our hearts and embrace love in all its beautiful forms? I think it’s still possible. I still have hope in humanity. I’m just trying to be a part of the discussion and encourage people to speak out for equality, to not be afraid to speak out for peace and love. All of us feel afraid at times in these absolutely insane times, but its important we speak our minds, cast our votes, and do not give in to fear and hatred.”

In early 2013, his first solo full length Regions of Light and Sound of God was released and met with widespread critical acclaim. Praised as “truly breathtaking” by Time Out and “magnificent” by Rolling Stone, the album was followed with a sold-out national headlining tour and appearances on Late Night with Jimmy FallonJimmy Kimmel LiveLate Show with David Letterman and Austin City Limits.

Jim James will be embarking a solo tour this winter. Dates listed below—tickets go on sale this Friday, September 23. Jim James fan club members get first access to tickets tomorrowSeptember 20th. Get more information on the pre-sale and join the fan club here.

GHOUL: Creepsylvanian Hooligans Stream Dungeon Bastards At MetalSucks; Record To Infect The Masses This Friday Via Tankcrimes

This Friday, Tankcrimes will infect the masses with the sonic mutations of Dungeon Bastards, the new full-length from the masked madmen in GHOUL. Captured and mixed by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City) at Antisleep Studios in Oakland, and mastered by Dan Randall (Impaled, Annihilation Time, Fucked Up, Necrot) at Mammoth Sound in San Francisco, Dungeon Bastards wields eleven hemorrhage-inducing tracks of the band’s now-patented Creepsylvanian splatterthrash.
In advance of its release, today the ghouligans at MetalSucks are streaming the record in full noting, “Dungeon Bastards isn’t just GHOUL‘s finest album to date – it’s one of 2016’s strongest albums to date, a pipe bomb hybrid of thrash, death metal, and hardcore that is effortlessly aggro andfun. Dungeon Bastards is the kind of record that will have you looking cockeyed at anyone who claims not to like it.”
Hear Dungeon Bastards, courtesy of MetalSucks, at THIS LOCATION.

You can also check out the band’s fan-made “Ghoulunatics” video HERE.
Dungeon Bastards will rear its seditious head from the subterranean bowls of Creepsylvania on July 29th, 2016 on CD and digital formats. The record will also come in slime green and blood red vinyl options with a gatefold jacket that opens into the Dungeon Bastards board game. Players take turns advancing through a Creepsylvanian map; the first one to get to end of the map and jump the Wall Of Death wins. CD preorders are available HERE, vinyl HERE, and digital HERE.

*GHOUL Headlining Shows
Utters Mass Movement of GHOUL’s latest masterwork, “Infused with the savage technicality of thrash behemoths and legendary crossover beasts such as Blind Illusion and Attitude, the energy and power of early Death and Sodom and the morbid humours of GWAR, GHOUL‘s lifelong mission has taken another crucial step toward world domination. Thrashing time is here…” In a 5/5 score Skulls ‘N’ Bones points out, “Yes, GHOUL has a humorous appearance and slant on their music, but don’t let that fool you. These guys write some seriously good metal and can back everything up with solid musicianship to boot.” Metal Reviews concurs in an 85/100 rating, “With so many gimmicks, it would seem surprising at first glance that GHOUL has continued for this long, but those gimmicks, and the not-so-secret identities of the band members, are just window dressing that covers music that can stand on its own merits. Dungeon Bastards continues GHOUL‘s policy of high quality with a blast of noise that will leave fans wishing for more than ten tracks.” Ave Noctum crowns Dungeon Bastards, “the best thing GHOUL has put out to date.” In Decibel’s For Those About To Squawk column, Waldo awards the record, “7 Fucking Pecks,” noting, “The production here is crisp and choppy and adds to the fun of this release… add in the sing-a-long choruses and you have a pretty beaking cool release.” Concludes Riot Nerd, “GHOUL‘s live antics and theatrical presentation may get kids through the door and asses in the seats (hell, it certainly got my attention), but on Dungeon Bastards they prove themselves the best of the best of the red food coloring and corn syrup set, with the deft musicianship and songwriting chops to take on anyone, masked, facepainted, or otherwise. Stalwart Creepsylvanians take heed, there’s about to be a population boom. Haters, doubters, trolls, and lurkers won’t be able to deny the ‘naked, merciless force’ of Dungeon Bastards, and GHOUL have earned every single new blood soaked fist in the air.”

Bison B. C. Blasts Back to the Dark Ages

Shazam and Sirius liquid Metal brought Bison B.C. into my life and I am now better off for it. The Vancouver based band hit like an all out assault on my senses from my Rockports, threatening to shatter my windows and take me off the road. I had to find out who this band was and why I had not heard of them before. Thanks to that wonderful little app Shazam I soon had my answer and was downloading their latest EP Dark Ages. So there I am cutting the grass with my headphones on and I can’t stop being a total metal geek as I am bleeding my ears with the enourmous vocals, tribally dark drumbeats, and beautifully crunching guitars. Their musicianship and approach to songs was unique and showed true mastery of what they were trying to accomplish. You really have to check their stuff out before I go further:http://www.myspace.com/bisoneastvan

From Metal Blade’s Site:

On BISON b.c.’s latest slab, Dark Ages, relentless touring – with the likes of Priestess, Baroness, 3 Inches Of Blood, and more – has fine tuned the band’s dedication to the riff to metallic perfection. Dark Ages breathes like a rabid animal that you’d find tied up in WINO’s backyard. It’s Flying V’s, analog perfection, loud & sludgy, played by hairy dudes in dirty denim jackets.

A bison is “a big, hairy, strong animal,” says James Farwell, who plays guitar and sings for Bison b.c. That could as just as well describe the band, which rose from the ass-end of the continent in Vancouver, Canada, to utter its doomed, plaintive call, and tramples through the constellations on its four shaggy limbs (James, Dan And, Masa Anzai, and Brad Mackinnon). Ghostly, windswept prairies, the mythical haunts of native lore: it is all there. Self-described “Canadian dirtbags” and veterans of Vancouver’s deep thrash and indie scenes, they are hitting their stride and offering up a new soundtrack for our last party before certain extinction. There is illness, abuse, apocalypse, and French horn.

Their first Metal Blade release, Quiet Earth, showed what that earth’s last sound might be like. It was heavy, sick, and crazy; stomping and banging, elegiac with cello. Just beneath the rock they described a bad trip through a devastated world where resigned dignity and camaraderie with the friends that remain are the only consolations.

This mixture of rowdiness and gentleness is very much of their hard-living, hard-loving hometown: fucked-up modernity’s last outpost on the rim of a vast, menacing wilderness. In their new release, James sings, “Vancouver’s an empty bottle, our dying thirst causing problems. Stand at dawn, the beginning of something heartfelt and replaceable.” No matter where we are, this is what it has come to in this age. So let’s listen to these gentlemen and rock out together.

“…intense, guitar heavy thrash that would make even Municipal Waste step back in awe.” Alternative Press

“…they dare to approach the maniacal majesty of present-day High on Fire.” Decibel Magazine

“…unpretentious, mountainous rock…frequently sound like Mastodon at their most straightforward, coming impressively close to that band’s mastery of the riff.” Terrorizer Magazine

“Heavy, man. Real heavy. Jean-jacket heavy…If Mastodon had spent more time listening to Anthrax, they might sound like Vancouver’s Bison B.C.” Rollingstone.com

“everything you could ask for in a metal band.” NewOrleans.com

“The name is Bison b.c. and they are heavy as fuck…” Thrasher Magazine

Cocaine Moustache Need Your Help

Conceived in 2009 when an ongoing party turned into a band, COCAINE MOUSTACHE created “Good Time” songs, influenced by soul, rock, blues, and funk with a hard edge. COCAINE MOUSTACHE joined forces in 2010 with Reversed Records and Producer/Juno Award winning engineer Rob Shallcross, who has captured these epic sessions. The result is this nine track sonic cocktail of booze-fueled anthems that will be one of most dangerous sounding rock records to come out since the ’80’s. Starting with a sell-out crowd at their first show, COCAINE MOUSTACHE quickly made a name for themselves. This uncontrollable party has helped them to land opening slots for Nashville Pussy, 3 Inches Of Blood, and The Dayglo Abortions.

Vancouver, BC’s COCAINE MOUSTACHE is in the running to perform at this year’s SEEDS 2012 Festival in conjunction with 99.3 The Fox in Vancouver, BC. In order for the band to be chosen to perform, fans must vote heavily at http://cfox.supernova.com/cocainemoustache. Vote now and help them out.

COCAINE MOUSTACHE released their debut album, On The Mirror, in January. The album is currently available for purchase through iTunes or CD Baby! You can also buy the album at http://www.reversedrecords.com/estore.html.

COCAINE MOUSTACHE is:

White Willie Sniffsum (Vocals)
Vinnie Railtrail (Bass)
