Intervals head out with Misery Signals & The Color Morale

Our good friend, Mike Semesky, who is currently playing bass with Intervals, checked in from the road after just completing a tour of Canada.  If you have been living under a rock, “Intervals are a progressive, instrumental powerhouse, hailing from Toronto, Ontario , Canada. With roots firmly planted in metal, and inspiration ranging from fusion to electronic, the four-piece wields a gripping sonic aesthetic. Energetic riffs, coupled with memorable melody take the listener through a myriad of moods and soundscapes”.

“With primary guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Aaron Marshall, and internet drumming sensation Anup Sastry (live drums for Jeff Loomis) at the helm, the two deliver an exciting perspective on modern melodic metal. Their focus being on challenging themselves technically, while maintaining memorable hooks to draw in any music fanatic.

The band released their debut EP, “The Space Between” in December, 2011, which saw critical acclaim in the online metal community. Fall 2012 will see the band release a follow-up EP entitled, “In Time”, brimming with Intervals’ brand of catchy melodic prog. Teaming with timeless, forward thinking music, Intervals are the soundtrack to the future.”

If you’re lucky enough that they are hitting your area, be sure to catch an amazing show…dates below.

As I Lay Dying Launch New Lyric Video For The Track “No Lungs To Breathe”

A new lyric video for the track “No Lungs To Breathe,” which was made by the band’s guitarist Nick Hipa, is now live in conjunction with the band’s North American tour with The Devil Wears Prada that kicked off this past Friday (2/22) in Ventura, Calif. at the Ventura Theater. Check out the lyric video for “No Lungs To Breathe” HERE:

Metal Blade Records’ AS I LAY DYING and Ferret Music recording group The Devil Wears Prada are hitting the road for a full North American co-headline tour with support coming from For Today (on all dates except March 7th-March 8th), The Color Morale (February 22nd – March 7th), and The Chariot (March 8th – April 4th). Pittsburgh Music Magazine will be at Mr. Smalls in Millvale/Pittsburgh to cover the show and interview AS I LAY DYING…

AS I LAY DYING preceded the release of their 6th full-length studio album, “AWAKENED,” with a highly successful run on 2012’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival where the band rotated between the side and main stages. Just before “AWAKENED” dropped via Metal Blade Records on September 25th, the band released their first production video for the album for the track “A Greater Foundation.” Fans instantly took to the Internet to express their love of the new song – AND to discuss the relevance of the lyrics. Check out the video and comments HERE.

“AWAKENED,” which Rick Florino from Artist Direct called “…their best album yet,” noting “it’s a high water mark for modern metal, and it’s going to wake up the entire genre” giving the release 5 out of 5 stars, debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #11, selling over 28,000 copies in its first week in the US alone.

Affiance’s ‘The Campaign’ Has Killer Week- See Them Live in PGH 12/12

The new Affiance album “The Campaign” has had a successful first week! Some great sales numbers have charted them at #7 Heatseekers, #7 Top New Artist, #37 Top Hard Albums, and #53 Top Indie Albums. Singer Dennis Tvrdik commented, “We are absolutely stoked that we charted on Billboard! Our fans are insanely supportive and believe in us not only as a band but as people. Thank you to everyone who bought The Campaign. We are forever grateful!”

The band just premiered their first music video from “The Campaign”! The video is for the opening track “Kings Of Deceit” and shows the band performing as well as newsworthy moments from the last few decades. The song also features Dustin Davidson from August Burns Red (courtesy of Solid State) who gives a great vocal performance!

“We were really excited to do a serious and dark video since our biggest video is us running around in our pajamas and playing a video game. This video is for the first track on the album and we wanted to start ‘The Campaign’ off by calling out the media and the powerful who orchestrate and manipulate the biggest events throughout modern history. It also shows a different side of us than our ‘Call To The Warrior’ video. You know us as easy going, good time dudes, but we are also dead serious about making positive change in the world around us.” – Dennis Tvrdik (Vocals)

Dennis Tvrdik commented on the new album (Produced by Carson Slovak at Atrium Audio who has recently finished records for August Burns Red, Texas In July), “The Campaign is multiple levels above No Secret Revealed in every area. The vocals, the drums, the guitars, the recording quality, the song structure, the variety… We couldn’t be happier or more confident with a sophomore album. It almost feels like we skipped a release between the two albums! There is not a doubt in my mind that this will be a game changer for us and will open many doors to opportunities otherwise closed off from us.”

Affiance recently appeared AS A CARTOON (yes, a cartoon) in a new interview with South Africa’s MK Ondergrond! The interview appeared on national SA television but can be seen on YouTube along with recent interviews with In Flames and The Used. AUGUST BURNS RED stream ‘Flurries’

AUGUST BURNS RED are once again pleased to spread some pre-holiday cheer with the release of “Sleigh Ride,” the second new track from their upcoming Christmas album: August Burns Red presents: Sleddin’ Hill, A Holiday Album – in stores October 9th from Solid State Records.

Last month, the band gave fans a sneak peek at the album with “Flurries,” one of two original compositions on the album. After dazzling fans with what is sure to be a future holiday classic, ABR are now giving the world a taste of their crushing take on the traditional holiday songbook.

“’Sleigh Ride’ was the last song to come together for Sleddin’ Hill’ and one of the trickier songs to cover due to its crazy structure and various key changes,” says guitarist JB Brubaker. “The original song is all over the place and so is our version. ‘Sleigh Ride’ is a complete roller coaster – there is even a jazz section in the middle complete with horns. The end reminds me of a rock n roll dance party in the 1960s. I don’t know what else to say – you just have to listen to it.”

Listen to “Sleigh Ride” and pre-order Sleddin’ Hill here:
www.augustburnsred.com

Purchase the single on iTunes now:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/sleigh-ride-single/id556095102?uo=4

The 13-track Sleddin’ Hill features fresh takes on a variety of Christmas classics, such as “Jingle Bells,” “Winter Wonderland” and even “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.” The album also compiles remixed and remastered versions of the band’s previous holiday singles, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “Little Drummer Boy” coupled with an updated version of the band’s rendition of “Carol of the Bells,” heard in Frank Miller’s (300, Sin City) movie The Spirit and Seth MacFarlane’s (Family Guy) American Dad.

Sleddin’ Hill finds AUGUST BURNS RED at what might be their most ambitious and creative yet. It’s a work that enhances the guitar and drum mastery the band are known for by adding unexpected elements such as banjo, violin, cello, piano and even horns.
“Because this was such a different type of album, I was able to get a little more wild with my influences,” confesses Brubaker. “There’s a section inspired by one of my favorite bands, BEIRUT. There’s also guitar solo that is an ode to Blue Album-era WEEZER, and my punk roots are evident all over the album.”

AUGUST BURNS RED are currently in the midst of a five-week, 30-city North American tour with support from OF MICE & MEN, THE COLOR MORALE and labelmates THE OVERSEER, before heading back to Europe where they’ll hit 12 countries in four weeks.

Already among the most respected acts in the genre, AUGUST BURNS RED solidified their status further with the June 2011 release of their fourth studio album, Leveler, which rocketed to the top of the Billboard charts – debuting at #11 on the Billboard 200 in addition to entering the charts as the #1 Hard Rock album and #2 Rock album. Adding to the stellar debut is the incredible durability and staying power Leveler has displayed, having become the band’s fastest selling album to date by a large margin.

Following two albums that have topped 100,000 apiece in sales (2009’s Constellations and 2007’s Messengers), Leveler is on pace to set a new high-bar for AUGUST BURNS RED, adding commercial success to the critical praise the album has garnered from the likes of Alternative Press, Revolver, Rock Sound and dozens of other outlets. The album pushes the band’s sonic boundaries in every direction, yet emerges as an unquestionably heavier album than its predecessor. It’s a game-changer, for ABR, and for fans of hard rock everywhere.
