The Nearly Deads @Diesel on May 14th

Nashville based rock band called The Nearly Deads  will be releasing a new EP, Revenge of The Nearly Deads, on May 26th. The band is currently supporting the new record on tour which will include a show inPittsburgh at Diesel on May 14th.

The band is self-described as sounding like “Halestorm meets the Foo Fighters, with Courtney Love at the helm, if she could wail like Kelly Clarkson.” I think that description hits the nail on the head. The band exploded in 2011 with a video for their song “Never Look Back” which has gone on to garner 7.6 Million views. Since then the band has been on a steady rise performing alongside bands like IN This Moment, Halestorm and more. In addition to providing valuable data about how an artist’s music is performing on Pandora, AMP now features a dynamic feed of an artist’s campaign activity as well as performance metrics and suggestions for new campaigns. AMPcast, in limited release since it launched earlier this year, is now open to all artists. Its new features give artists the ability to geotarget Artist Audio Messages, share these messages via social networks or save draft messages to edit at a later time – all from the Pandora mobile app.

Why?, produced by Nashville-based David Spencer, showcases the soulful singing and songwriting of an 18-year old whose independent approach has captured the attention of critics and industry tastemakers as well as connecting with millions of fans around the world.
The album is a powerful thirteen-track collection of songs, brimming with standouts like the finger-clicked soul-pop of “Lovesick” (“A fun song about getting in trouble with your girl”) and “Focus,” which reflects on the stress of a love in our current culture of distraction. Whitesides’ songs are, by and large, heartfelt and relatable. Sometimes they’re lighthearted, but even when they’re upbeat, there’s often another level to the lyrics as the listener dives deeper into the music.  “Love Slow” was inspired by the struggle of being 18 and in a relationship, and on “Bury Our Love” when he sings, “I was old before I was young” the line rings particularly true, echoing his musical talents and accomplishments.
Why? is the follow-up to Whitesides two chart-topping EPs A Piece of Me and Faces On Film (both which stood for days at #1 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart in 2015). A Piece of Me produced the unintentional hit “Not My Type At All.” The track became the No. 1 most requested on Radio Disney and received heavy rotation on Sirius XM’s “Coffee House” alongside such heavyweights as Coldplay, Paul Simon, and Ray LaMontagne. I Prevail @RexTheater on July 31st

Detroit rock band I Prevail who recently announced a headline North American tour, which will stop in Pittsburgh for a show at The Rex Theater on July 31st.

If you’re not familiar, I Prevail gained global notoriety in early 2015 with a massively successful cover of Taylor Swift’s hit “Blank Space,” which garnered a Top 20 slot on the Active Rock Radio charts, mass media attention and has gone on to sell over 300,000 copies and 22+ million streams/views. Following the overwhelming reception of “Blank Space,” the band recorded their debut EP, Heart Vs. Mind, that has sold over 50,000 copies to date.
