RAVEN to Release Rock Until Your Drop – A Long Days Journey

July 2nd in North America via Steamhammer/SPV

A Long Days Metal Journey – 2 Discs with 4 hours and 30 minutes of concert footage from Around The World, in the studio, backstage, interviews with the band, the fans, musicians and producer. It tells the story of over three decades of trailblaizing metal mayhem!

From the well documented early days as NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) frontrunners,RAVEN‘s albums ROCK UNTIL YOU DROP, WIPED OUT and ALL FOR ONE virtually invented both the speed metal and power metal genres – during the trailblazing USA tours of the 80’s introducing the States to “Athletic rock” as well as giving opening acts like Metallica and Anthrax their first tours, through the doldrums of the late 80’s/early 90’s when a grunge obsessed media wrote off so many acts – RAVEN has consistently proved to be both survivors par excellence and in a genre of grim imitation – shown that they are “the real thing”. Where so many of their contemporaries have either faded creatively or become parodies of themselves, RAVEN have consistently pushed the envelope while retaining their unique sound and attack – both in the studio & in their true element, onstage!

In a music scene filled by clones nurtured with a cookie-cutter mentality, the unique personality, power and humor of the three band members has always shone through. The crazed vocals & bass playing of John Gallagher, the full frontal guitar assault of brother, Mark Gallagher, and the punishing polyrhythmic pounding of drummer, Joe Hasselvander, all combine to form a sonic battering ram unique in rock!

With their amazing history DVD “Rock Until You Drop-A Long Days Journey” out as a digipak onSPV/Steamhammer they show all non believers what real metal is about.

REBELLIOUS SPIRIT Unveil Artwork and Tracklisting for Debut Album Gamble Shot

Available July 2nd in North America on Steamhammer/SPV

Watch out, all you cultural pessimists out there: if you’re worried about large sections of today’s adolescents running the risk of being paralyzed by passivity and a lack of imagination due to the excessive use of their computers, you haven’t heard of REBELLIOUS SPIRIT yet! The four-piece rock band from Southern Germany are without a doubt among the most promising newcomer acts ever to have started in the music business in this country. Their debut album, Gamble Shot, sees REBELLIOUS SPIRIT present a mature piece of handmade rock music which couldn’t sound more impressive had it been recorded by an established group. Band founders Jannik (vocals/guitar) and Jens Fischer (bass/vocals) are a mere 17 and 20 years old, their colleagues Silvio Bizer (drums) and Corvin Domhardt (guitar/vocals) are only 18. All the more surprising how nonchalantly and well thought-out this impressive quartet goes about its business. “We call our music simply rock’n’roll,” frontman Jannik Fischer defines the stylistic direction, adding: “But you could also refer to it as contemporary classic rock. It definitely reflects our joie de vivre.”Jannik, the youngest of the band members, composed all the material on the debut, recording vocals as well lead guitars. His bass-playing older brother Jens penned the lyrics.

Gamble Shot unmistakably reflects the influences of the these four young talents: Mötley Crüe, Poison, H.E.A.T., Hardcore Superstar, Reckless Love, to name but the most obvious ones. Having said that,REBELLIOUS SPIRIT are anything but copy cats – quite the opposite: all ten tracks on their first release are marked by an amazing individuality and top compositional quality. Haunting numbers such as ‘Lights Out’ and ‘Cry For You’ document the energy that’s so typical of Rebellious Spirit, ‘Gone Wild’ with its classy guitar riff underlines the band’s penchant for melodic metal. REBELLIOUS SPIRIT know no stylistic limitations, their credo is: we play what we enjoy! “A number like ‘Let’s Bring Back’, for example, was recorded directly after our performance at the Rock Of Ages Festival in Seebronn,” Jens Fischer remembers. “We got back home seriously exhausted, but already had the chorus running through our brains. So we sat down immediately to write the number. It was recorded in no time.” Other tracks required a little more work: the drum grooves on ‘Forever Young’ were perfected until the musicians were one hundred per cent happy with them.

REBELLIOUS SPIRIT were founded in summer 2010. After a number of trial concerts, autumn 2010 saw them record their demo CD Heart Of Swabia featuring three original songs and three cover versions. In the meantime, the band has played more than 40 gigs, among them the prestigious Rock Of Ages Festival, and have supported Reckless Love, Kissin’ Dynamite and Pussy Sisster in Holland and Germany.

Their debut album Gamble Shot, due out worldwide as Digipak with three bonus videos, jewel case and download through SPV/Steamhammer, was recorded at the Cubeaudio Studios in Göttingenbetween September 2011 and February 2012 , the final mix and the final mastering were completed in July 2012.

A number of festival appearances are currently being scheduled for the summer, followed by a support tour in autumn 2013. Jens Fischer: “We can hardly wait for Gamble Shot to arrive at the stores at last so that we can present our new material to a larger audience.” This is an album that both sides are bound to enjoy – the musicians just as much as their fans!

42 DECIBEL to Release Debut Album Hard Rock N Roll

Hard Rock N Roll on Steamhammer/SPV

Available July 2nd in North America

42 DECIBEL have documented one thing beyond a doubt: traditional rock’n’roll is universal and stops neither at geographical borders nor current trends and fashions. The way this young band get down to business in the studio and live on stage brings to mind acts such as AC/DC, Airbourne, The Answer and Buckcherry. 42 DECIBEL sound like they might hail from Australia, the US, England or Scandinavia. But in fact the quartet stems from Argentina, where they have recently shaken all the hottest clubs in and around Buenos Aires to their very foundations. Their debut album Hard Rock’n’Roll is a classy, spirited rock pamphlet and has been scheduled as CD and LP for release on 24 June 2013 (Germany: 21 June 2013; US/Canada: 2 July 2013).

Nicko Cambiasso is the band’s mastermind. He founded 42 DECIBEL in January 2010 and indicates the band’s general direction: “I’m the man behind the project, in a way from the very beginning the one who set the direction of our sound, where we should aim in terms of our songwriting and how we should develop in the future,” Cambiasso explains. “I’m really old school, I like the drums to be pretty straightforward and to sound solid in order to go straight into the aural tract of our listeners.” The group’s frontman is vocalist/guitarist Junior Figueroa, who founded 42 DECIBEL together with Cambiasso. “Junior is the youngest of the band members, a great frontman, very dynamic on stage,” Cambiasso describes his colleague,“one of the best guitarists I’ve played with. As a lot of people say after having seen one of our shows: ‘He’s out of this world’.” The band is completed by bassist Chris Marck Towers and rhythm/slide guitarist Billy Bob Riley“Billy Bob is a very easy-going person who explodes on stage and can’t stop moving even for a second. Thanks to his slide guitar skills, we’ve succeeded in broadening our compositional range,”Cambiasso enthuses, commenting equally positively on his bassist: “Chris is a tougher guy, he’s got a great groove. He’s not one of those who play one and the same note all the time. His bass riffs add that special touch which sets us apart from other bands in this genre.”

42 DECIBEL‘s first 7-track demo saw the light of day back in spring 2010, defining the basis of their sound. Now the band are ready to present their first album Hard Rock’n’Roll, recorded with the support of sound engineer Patricio Claypole at the El Attic Studios and mastered by Justin Weis (Papa Roach, The Tubes) atSan Francisco’s Trakworx Studios. The debut’s title hints at the direction of the album: traditional rock music which goes straight to gut and into your feet. The musician’s influences are unmistakable and as renowned as they are legendary: “Our sound is pretty much old school, vintage, straightforward and genuine,” says Cambiasso. “We all love AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Rose Tattoo, Elvis Presley, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd. We just try to play the music we want to listen to and go back to our roots.”

Cambiasso is referring to haunting rock tracks such as ‘Scotch Drinker’, ‘Smokin’ Fire’ and ‘Addicted To Rage’ with their uncompromising drive and disarming directness. ‘Gimme A Drink’, for example, refers to a fairly unattractive woman who seems to become more interesting after a few drinks. ‘Rocker Soul’ with its powerful and gritty riff also deserves a mention and is the thematic symbol of the band’s philosophy. Cambiasso: “´Rocker Soul` was the first song we composed together.”  Probably the most unusual track onHard Rock’n’Roll is ‘Long Legged Woman’“The Song has that Australian sound, but with a touch of Southern Rock, and features one of the guitar solos I most enjoy on the record.” That’s pretty much all you need to know about the album for the time being. The outstanding songs on 42 Decibel’s album are set to answer any questions you may have!

TRACKLISTING CD:

1.Scotch Drinker 6:17

A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH will release their sophomore album Lay My Soul to Waste May 21st in North America on Steamhammer/SPV. Once again the artwork was commissioned by Sam Shearon, who is also responsible for artwork on the band’s first release And Hell Will Follow Me.

Revolver Magazine is streaming the track “Shallow Grave” HERE.

On the surface, A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH are impressive. But you’ll want to dig deeper and immerse yourself in all the sonic and lyrical layers, because the band isn’t afraid to plume the depths of darkness that humanity is capable of. It’s murky stuff, but someone has to do it.

Sal Abruscato and Matt Brown have followed 2011’s incredible introduction And Hell Will Follow Me withLay My Soul to Wastewhich keeps the band’s patented signature formula of slow, deliberate sludge and head-down doom intact and as flawlessly executed as ever.

Think Alice in Chains, only harder, angrier and with a more perverse view of the world, as if they were reared in a row house in Bensonhurst, as opposed to the rainy landscape of Seattle, all the while feasting on a steady diet of Black Sabbath records.

A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH arrived with And Hell Will Follow MeThey have firmly implanted their roots in the metal scene with Lay My Soul to WasteIt’s a metal album that headbangers who enjoy a walk on the darker side of life will end up revering and responding to.

VICIOUS RUMORS Debut New Video on Metal Injection

Available May 7th on Steamhammer/SPV

When Vicious Rumors returned from a long, strenuous and immensely successful world tour in autumn 2011, the musicians – least of all band mastermind and main songwriter Geoff Thorpe – couldn’t really see themselves mustering the energy to release a new studio album in the foreseeable future. “2011 was a monster year for Vicious Rumors in the most positive sense of the word,” he says, looking back at that time with surprise and some satisfaction. “We were on the road non-stop for more or less eight months, played countless club shows and performed at some of the most important festivals worldwide. The last show of the tour took place as part of the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise – what a finale! Then everything was over very suddenly and we started to work on our new album without so much as a break. Perhaps you can imagine how difficult that was and how much concentration we needed to do that kind of work without any loss of friction.” Now the doubtlessly successful result of that big challenge is scheduled for release: Vicious Rumors are set to unleash Electric Punishment sounding more multi-faceted and creative than they have done in a long time.

Today the band is pleased to debut the first video from Electric PunishmentThe video for the song “I am the Gun” is being premiered exclusively by Metal Injection. Check it out HERE.

There definitely is no discernible loss of friction on Electric Punishment, which is again ruled by what Thorpe refers to as an “impressive double bass thunder, double guitar attacks and haunting vocals the way you only get them with this band”. At the same time, the ten new songs are clearly more multi-layered and diverse than the material on its 2011 predecessor Razorback Killers. “While Razorback Killers was heavy all the way through from start to finish, the new material is more in the vein of Word Of Mouth,” Thorpe explains. At the same time, the uncompromising toughness that their fans have come to expect of Vicious Rumors is present onElectric Punishment as well: the two openers ‘I Am The Gun’ and ‘Black X List’ are typical as can be of Vicious Rumors. Thorpe refers to those numbers as “classic power metal tracks which would have fitted on every one of our albums. But there’s also an unusually atmospheric song called ‘Eternally’, an anthem to our audience entitled ‘Together We Unite’ and a deeply black ballad named ‘Escape (From Hell)’. I’m sure that our fans will be just as surprised of the whole album as they will be of the final Kiss cover ‘Strange Ways’.”

Surprised and most likely thrilled, because once again the band has brought all its skills to bear and come up with a real highlight. Thorpe, vocalist Brian Allen, bassist Stephen Goodwin and drummer Larry Howe were supported by guitarist Thean Rasmussen, who returned to the Vicious Rumors fold after Razorback Killers. In addition, Thorpe & Co. invited a number of former allies to the studio as guest musicians: Brad Gillis features on ‘D-Block’, ‘Together We Unite’ and ‘Eternally’, Marc McGhee on ‘Escape (From Hell)’, and last but not least tour guitarist Bob Capka helped out at the studio with a number of rhythm guitars and a haunting solo on ‘D-Block’. Thorpe: “I had a few problems with my fingers, that’s why I was glad that Bob was there to help. Otherwise it probably wouldn’t have been possible to stick to our tight production schedule.”

So it’s done: Electric Punishment is Vicious Rumors’ eleventh studio album and proves just how much of a force to be reckoned with this band continues to be. “We have permanently grown, there have been no two identical albums in our career because each album has a new, fresh approach,” comments Thorpe, not without pride. “Still we’ve never strayed from our course – perhaps precisely for this reason. We’ve remained faithful to our ideals and have always been honest with our fans. I think our loyal followers value that Vicious Rumors have never jumped on any kind of bandwagon. Everything we do comes from the heart, and Electric Punishment documents that no other band on this planet sounds like Vicious Rumors. To us, that’s an incentive, a challenge and a quality feature all in one. And it’s something our fans can rely on when we set off on our next monster tour in spring 2013.” Vicious Rumors have been scheduled to headline countless clubs and play important festivals (the Headbangers Open Air  in Germany and the Alcatraz festival in Belgium having been confirmed already) before going on to Japan and the USA. Thorpe: “We’re facing big challenges again – but that sort of thing has always helped Vicious Rumors to grow!”

GLOOMBALL Release New Video and More Info on Debut Album

Available May 7th in North America on Steamhammer/SPV

The automobile and energy industries prove it on a daily basis: they swear by hybrids, in other words a homogeneous mix of different components which blend past, present and future. German newcomer act Gloomball apply similar parameters in terms of their artistic orientation. Their debut album is called The Distance and documents an amazing diversity of styles, influences and ingredients. “We refer to our material simply as rock music, but you could also call it alternative metal or modern rock,” guitarist Björn Daigger, who composed the majority of the tracks together with vocalist Alen Ljubic, explains, adding: “At the end of the day, our range includes elements from pop to death metal. In addition, there are classic orchestra parts as well as ultra-deep seven-string guitars. There are no stylistic taboos in Gloomball.”

Since 2010, Gloomball have developed from a project which was initially limited to pure studio work to a hot live act and have long had their baptism of fire, continuing to impress growing numbers of fans with their dynamic style. They have played with top acts such as Dillinger Escape Plan, Ektomorf, Neaera, Ignite, Parkway Drive and Axxis without getting the short end of the stick. So it’s no surprise that it didn’t take long for renowned record companies to express their interest in this band.

Additional strong arguments for the justified public interest were Gloomball’s two demo releases which document beyond doubt just how talented and at the same time mature this young group is. Four songs from this creative era have made it onto The Distance: ‘Hand In Blood’, ‘Better Place’, ‘Long Time Gone’ and ‘We Do Belong’. All four numbers have of course been rerecorded to adapt them to the band’s current style. In addition,The Distance features seven brand-new tracks plus an impressive cover version of Robert M. Tepper’s ‘No Easy Way Out’ from the movie classic ‘Rocky IV’.

So fasten your seatbelts, make sure your seat is in an upright position and refrain from smoking when Gloomball move in for the kill with rock numbers such as ‘Overcome’ and ‘We Do Belong’. Driven by hard-as-nails guitar riffs courtesy of Daigger and fellow-stringsman Jossi Lenk, Basti Moser (bass) and Danny Joe’s (drums) uncompromising rhythm section and Alen Ljubic’s haunting, never pushy melodies, the twelve songs on The Distance drill themselves like barbs into your aural tract. All those who prefer their music really nastywill love ‘Blown Away And Gone’, while ‘Your Sorrow Inside’ sees Gloomball opt for a different style, producing progressive sounds for a change.

Talking of sounds: a lot of the music on The Distance has deep lyrics and a personal note. “Buried all my hopes, throw it overboard, I’ll go on without you, I’m better off alone, can’t stand your lies, hate the way you hide, I’ll kill you quick, you are no more on my mind,” sings Ljubic on ‘More And More’, delving deep into interpersonal themes and problematic relationships. The intensity of these lyrics suits the urgency of the overall sound, which is tough yet transparent and rich in detail.  To cut a long story short: The Distancepresents a holy alliance of music, lyrics and production which does the rock music genre proud.

What else can we say about these amazingly confident newcomers? Well, Gloomball have brought a fresh breeze and surprising complexity to the rock music scene, which you will be able to witness for yourself during their impending tour. As Daigger says: “This music belongs on the stage, and we can hardly wait to present The Distance live to our fans as often as possible in the coming months.” You won’t have to wait long for Gloomball to play a venue near you, so get ready for even more impressive feats by this brilliant band.

The debut album The Distance is out on SPV / Steamhammer:

Germany April 26th

Europe April 29th

USA / Canada June 4th

Great vocal melodies with anthemic potential, virtuoso guitar and keyboard passages including spectacular solos, in addition to a blistering rhythm section which gives the songs their pace, groove and dynamics: the very ingredients which guaranteed seven brilliant releases in ten years from the American-Swiss cult actArtension and caused a global stir on The End Of Never, the only album by Artension’s successor Angel Of Eden, also inspire listeners on Artlantica‘s debut album Across The Seven Seas. Which doesn’t really come as a surprise: after all, Artlantica features three of the most important driving forces behind Angel of Eden in guitarist Roger Staffelbach, frontman John West and keyboardist Mistheria. In addition, Staffelbach and West (Artension, Royal Hunt) belonged to Artension (together with Vitalij Kuprij (now Trans-Siberian Orchestra), among others), and Mistheria has made a name for himself with his collaborations with Bruce Dickinson and Rob Rock. All three are without a doubt real masters of their trade who have combined their talents to present ten brilliant new songs. Staffelbach describes the result as “powerful, heavy occasionally majestic, grooving, melodious and timeless. Each instrument has its place, none of them sound too dominant, everything has only one purpose – to serve the song.” A perfect description of Across The Seven Seas.

Across The Seven Seas is a prime example of a diverse melodic metal album which combines compositional quality, great technical skill and charisma. Staffelbach comments enthusiastically about his two band colleagues: “John is a fantastic singer, everything he does is over the top, whether live or in the studio. An exceptionally gifted vocalist. It’s in his blood to write great melodies and turn songs into stories. Mistheria, on the other hand is a true artist by all means. I value his skills as a musician just as much as his gift for writing and arranging songs. We blend extremely well, in my opinion he’s one of the most accomplished keyboardists of our time.” Not forgetting Staffelbach himself, who has contributed countless significant impulses to his new band. His unmistakable songwriting and guitar playing, his signature guitar sound and playing style, his persistence and ability to get projects off the ground and produce albums that have been and continue to be the base for the existence of Artension and now Artlantica with their furious debut album.

Staffelbach, West and Mistheria enjoy an excellent reputation among their colleagues and can pick and choose when it comes to selecting their guest musicians: Across The Seven Seas features Dani Löble (Helloween) andJohn Macaluso (Malmsteen, TNT, Ark) on drums, the bass parts were recorded by Bass Icon Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus, Testament), who also worked with Artension and Angel Of Eden previously. And last but by no means least, Artlantica succeeded in enlisting none less than Chris Caffery of Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra as their guest guitarist. The result of this high-calibre collaboration was mixed and mastered atTommy Newton’s (Helloween, Gamma Ray, among others) Area 51 studios, Newton also adding his extensive expertise.

So the world is eagerly awaiting a new band with its experienced members who have never sounded this good before in this formation. As Roger Staffelbach puts it so aptly: “Artlantica’s music is gritty, excellently produced and absolutely song-oriented. But first and foremost this band consists of musicians who commit to themselves and really want to go for it with this band.” That’s exactly the kind of determination that comes across on Across The Seven Seas!

KINGDOM COME Reveal Artwork and Tracklisting for Outlier

Fame and fortune have always played a minor role in KINGDOM COME mastermind Lenny Wolf’s longstanding career. In fact, his more than 30 years as an artist have been fueled first and foremost by musical challenges and the desire to keep evolving. His credo has always been: authenticity before commercial considerations. “Naturally, nobody is happier than I am when my music is loved by as many fans as possible,” he says, “but these kinds of aspects are irrelevant when it comes to creating a new album. The only thing that matters is testing myself as an artist and embarking on new paths.” To avoid any misunderstandings: the new KINGDOM COME album Outlier presents flawless rock music with a welcome tendency towards melancholia and a gift for anthems. But: With Outlier Lenny is starting a new chapter of his diverse creative career, expertly positioning his charismatic voice between traditional rock structures and modern sound elements, which add a third dimension to this album.

“I simply felt the need to delve deep inside of me and run riot in the infinite expanse of the audio cosmos. The result is a friction of mercilessly mechanical, heartless sound collages, combined with my typical melancholy-melodious style,” Wolf explains the album’s artfully interwoven experimental approach to his sound, which never detracts from the familiar atmospheric basic mood of his songs.“A whole number of souls happen to dwell in my breast, which is why experimentation and the development of my musical existence simply belong together.” Lenny purposely takes into account that this approach may also lead to friction and requires an open mind of its listeners: “It’s of secondary importance to me whether this is clever in business terms. To me, it’s all about creating optimum varieties of sound signals which go through the ear straight into the heart. Some call it a vocation. Hallelujah.”

A vocation which is reflected in ten haunting, stirring and diverse songs. Some numbers are welcome reminders of KINGDOM COME‘s glorious past, other songs document a future-oriented direction. “I could have written a track such as ‘Let The Silence Talk’ back in 1988 during our In Your Face period, whereas listening to ‘Rough Ride Rallye’ and ‘When Colors Break The Grey’ for the first time may have you think: Oops, what’s all this about,” Lenny confesses, knowing fully well that it’s precisely those opposite poles which make Outlier a very special album. Especially since “one song by itself cannot reflect the character of a whole album. To understand this record, you have to take time and become one with those compositions, some of which are extremely diverse.”

Outlier is well worth the effort, especially in view of the album’s deep lyrical content. As ever, Lenny’slyrics are personal snapshots straight from his soul, touching on autobiographical subjects on ‘Don’t Want You To Wait’ and documenting – for example on ‘God Does Not Sing Our Song’ and ‘Skip The Cover And Feel’ – an attitude which is as fierce as ever and deeply rooted in Lenny Wolf. He has also consciously chosen the album title in line with this: “The term Outlier suits me to a tee. It symbolises my whole personality, the musical media I work with, the story of my life.”

Outlier was recorded at Wolf’s own Hamburg studio, the Two Square Noise Factory. With the exception of the solo guitar parts contributed by Eric Förster, all instruments were recorded by theKINGDOM COME boss himself. In addition, Wolf produced, engineered, mixed and mastered his new album. “Eighteen-months of struggle and madness lie behind me, a period which saw me go through the usual alternating bath of euphoria and doubt. As an artist, you can never be quite sure just what you’ve cooked up, but I happen to be an idealist and simply have to keep embarking on new adventurous journeys. The path of predictability has never satisfied me.”

Outlier is KINGDOM COME’s first studio album featuring completely new material since the arrival of their 2009 release, Magnified. The album is bound to provoke discussion, in every respect, which is precisely the intention Lenny has with his compositions: “I never write to please anybody, I simply stretch my means of expression as a musician as far as possible. Always in the hope that others will like the result.” That certainly is one thing that Lenny needn’t worry about!

ASSASSIN to Release First Ever DVD Chaos and Live Shots January 29th

Blood and gore all over the place, smelly feet in a car with closed windows, and as if that wasn’t enough, there are roadies crawling through grotty attics, interspersed with wild parties, plenty of drugs and tons of alcoholic beverages – somehow you can’t make up your mind which of these countless choleric excesses of a wonderfully and thoroughly uncivilised cohabitation you’d most like to have been a part of.

Thrash metal act ASSASSIN were there all the way, which is why they will probably be the last survivors of the human race when Planet Earth plunges – as predicted – into the abyss this coming winter. Mind you: should Armageddon really materialise, they at least had a good time. Where? In Frankfurt and Hagen, in Lichtenfels and Bochum, in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, but also … wait for it! … in Osaka (!). March 2010 saw eight cameras witness ASSASSIN conquer that Japanese city, pulling out all the stops at the True Thrash Fest.

Not only were ASSASSIN’s two shows caught on camera, but also the every-day madness this chaos squad lives with. So should the world not come to an end after all, you will be able to watch all this and much more on double DVD, out January 29th in North America on Steamhammer/SPV. Chaos and Live Shots is the title of that footage (which is anything but confidential), presenting a thoroughly anarchistic band.

Well how about this one: why is guitarist Michael Hoffmann pulled across the poker table like that? Or: why does drummer Björn Sondermann smash up his … hmm … well-kept Honda van? Why do the phones of the other band members ring all the time so they can’t ever seem to get down to some serious meditation? And why does this damn mobile have to ring when they’d much rather cheer on their favourite football team, Fortuna Düsseldorf, at the stadium?

Find answers to all these essential questions on Chaos and Live Shots, plus bizarre anecdotes and wild film sequences from the career of this five-piece thrash band from Germany. ‘Uncle Tom’ Angelripper has his say, and the guys from Violent Force and Deathrow also were called upon to talk about their memories, complemented by comments from original Assassin drummer Psycho Danger (the name says it all!), the band’s first manager, and various ex-bassists. And in between, there are lots of hard-as-nail thrash metal tracks courtesy of ASSASSIN.

Chaos and Live Shots is pretty extraordinary. But Assassin wouldn’t be Assassin if the band hadn’t ignored all conventions when they got down to putting together the material. Chaos And Live Shots is brilliantly chaotic and wonderfully alive – which we already mentioned above …..

DVD content / packing:
2 DVDs in a Digipak + 40 page booklet + exclusive voucher to enter the competition for a FERNANDES Tremor Bass guitar
