Machina’s To Live and Die in the Garden of Eden

Machina is the ex-Evanescence and Future Leaders of The World members first album release for San Francisco indie metal label, Rogue Records America.

Originally from Little Rock, AK, Phil Taylor (former Future Leaders of the World) and John Le Compt (ex-Evanescence) met on the local metal scene between breaks working and touring with their former bands. The two established a musical connection and decided to work together on a shared project with a sound distinct from their better-known bands—MACHINA.

The result is To Live and Die in the Garden of Eden, which contains 11 melodic hard rock tracks including first single ‘Crown’. “Crown” is just what you would expect from Taylor and Le Compt- radio friendly hard edged melodic metal rock in the vein of Stone Sour meets Fuel type fare. Phil Taylor’s vocals have that familiar raspy feel combined with the ability to carry the melody and can compete with the best of them. Standouts include, ‘This Goodbye’ which is more of an acoustic rocker that fits well with the tempo of the record. In fact, the presence of acoustic guitars are equally felt in the mix with the crunching electric throughout the entire record. Other stand out tracks include ‘Trust’ with its haunting melody and searing guitar and the dark ‘Marie’ that has elements of NIN and Marilyn Manson. It would be no surprise if Machina is dominating the airwaves very soon. If you dig melodic power rock/metal this effort definitely needs to be on your immediate download/purchase list. The album was recorded at The Sound Kitchen in Nashville, TN with Grammy-winning producer Toby Wright.

To Live and Die in The Garden of Eden is released by Rogue Records America and is available NOW for digital download at iTunes and other digital retailers. CD’s will be available by mail order through CM Distro.

Muskegon, MI tech death metal band BURY THE SILENCE have just released their first EP for San Francisco, CA based indie metal label Rogue Records America, entitled The Architecture of Struggle. The album was released last week on August 14, 2012.

Stream the album now here!

The four-piece signed with the label in December 2011 and the new LP is their first release for Rogue Records. The album will be available for download through iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and other digital retailers. CM Distro will offer the album on CD by mail order.

The new EP, a follow up 2010’s Phobiotic, contains five pounding yet technical death metal cuts. Australia’s Synthetic Breed Offer Unique Industrial Metal Experience

Synthetic Breeds bio tells of their “Crushing riffs, pounding polyrhythms and a superior technicality (…) combined with both explosive and dark movements of musical excellence to form a unique brand of Industrial Djent”.
Having just previewed the new material for ROGUE RECORDS AMERICA,‘Zero Degrees Freedom’ delivers on the description. ‘Zero Degrees Freedom’ contains re-workings of fan-favourites along with the brand new single of the same name.
With a bit of a band personnel changeover, Synthetic Breed has phoenixed into a unique brand of metal and what should be a big breakout for the foursome.

With such high-powered tunes as ‘Afflictions Of Advancement’, ‘Convergence’, and ‘Dimension Zero’ the band are reminiscent of a mixture of heavy electronica, thrash metal, hardcore metal, opera, and grindcore with their tribal drumbeats and immediate head banging rhythms. The vocals of MARES REFALAEDA are brutal and soothing depending on the swing of emotion set by the masterful instrumentation. Her range is unusual and fitting for an outfit that has used their history as an advantage of learning and becoming a tight unit. It seems that the songwriting and musicianship of VINCENT ZYLSTRA (GUITARS, PROGRAMMING, SEQUENCING) and DANIEL LUTTICK (DRUMS) and LUKE THIEL (BASS) have been influenced by the likes of Evanescence, Sepultura, Lamb of God, Ministry, and even Rush.

SYNTHETIC BREED have had a long development period beginning when they started playing live in 2002. By late 2003 their debut self-titled EP was released. The band continued to write and perform, molding their unique style and in early 2005 released their second EP, ‘Fractured’. In 2006, they recorded and released their first full-length album, ‘Catatonic’, which was received with worldwide critical acclaim. 2009 saw the recording and release of their second feature album, entitled ‘Perpetual Motion Machine’, once again released to worldwide critical acclaim. While the prior EP’s hinted at the musicality and progressive tendencies of SYNTHETIC BREED, their full length releases showcase their unique and individual style and sound in a spectacularly authoritative manner. The band is currently touring Australia and will make an appearance at Cologne’s EUROBLAST metal festival headlined by Scar Symmetry in October 2012. With all the festivals out and about we can hope to see them in the States in the near future.

SYNTHETIC BREED Releases ‘Zero Degrees Freedom’ EP

Australian-based industrial metallers SYNTHETIC BREED will drop their second release for San Francisco, CA based indie metal label Rogue Records America, entitled Zero Degrees Freedom on May 29, 2012. The four-piece signed with the label in September 2011 and the new five track EP is their first release for Rogue Records with new material. The digital-only release will be available for purchase through Amazon, Bandcamp, and other digital retailers. The EP package comes complete with PDF booklet, desktop background and Facebook timeline banner.

Zero Degrees Freedom was mastered by Mike Spreitzer of DevilDriver at his studio in Santa Barbara, CA. Having heard the band thanks to his friendship with Rogue Records founder and President Dean Martinetti, Mike was eager to get on board and lend his hand to the production.

The EP contains five industrial metal cuts fronted by stand-in female vocalist M. Refalaeda. In addition to completely re-working fan favorites like ‘Resilience’, the EP also contains the brand new single ‘Dimension Zero’ (the new video for the single can be viewed at this location).

SYNTHETIC BREED drummer Daniel Luttick states, “It’s been a couple of years since we’ve released new material. It’s a great feeling to be releasing new and re-worked material. I’m a big fan of DevilDriver and Mike’s work adds a bit of polish that really brings out the best of what we’ve done. Zero Degrees Freedom is just preview of what people can expect from our next full-feature album.”

Rogue Records previously released the double album Convergence and The Perpetual Motion Machine, for exclusive digital release. The latter album was also released for mail order through Rogue Records physical distribution with Century Media’s CM Distro.
