ABOVE SNAKES Release Official Music Video for “Nothing to Lose”

Active Rock / Nu Metal Band ABOVE SNAKES has released the official music video for their latest single, “Nothing to Lose,” the fourth single from the Boston based group, a seriously heavy banger of an anthem.

“This is an unapologetic anthem to not giving an F and living life the way you want. Life is too short and you gotta follow your dreams no matter how many people are chirping in your ear telling you you’re crazy.”- Johnny Skulls

Originally premiered on New Noise Magazine, “Nothing to Lose” was recorded at the legendary East Iris Studios (formally House Of Blues Studios) in Nashville, “Nothing to Lose” was produced / mixed by Kile Odell (FOZZYTHROUGH FIREAWAKE AT LAST) and co-written by Zach Williams (lead singer of DEAD EYES). The Accompanying music video , written and co-directed by singer Johnny Skulls and guitarist Dax Dabs, showcases the bands eccentric image and high energy performance.

“Nothing to Lose” follows the release of the bands previous singles “I Feel Bad,” which premiered with Knotfest.com, and “Never Alone,” which was added to ROCK HARD on Spotify, NEW ROCK NOW and NEW MUSIC NOW on Pandora, along with Loudwire’s Weekly Wire.

Above Snakes share the stage with Dropout Kings on October 26th @ Jewel Night Club in Manchester NH.

After years spent grinding in the ever-dimming lights of Hollywood, vocalist Johnny Skulls and guitarist Dax Dabs opened their eyes and realized what so many never do: ”why the f*ck are we trying to do it THEIR way?” At that moment, what once felt so distorted and lacking in its luster was now crystal clear. And with nothing but the open road and their own volition staring back at them, the two joined forces after years of friendship and returned to where it all started.

In 2019, the duo found their way back home to Boston and began working relentlessly on a new project: Above Snakes. They would soon partner with producer Kile Odell (FOZZY, THROUGH FIRE, AWAKE AT LAST) and in the summer of 2020, the band released their debut track
“Adrenaline”, which quickly earned a spot on PANDORA’S “NEW ROCK NOW” alongside PAPA ROACHFIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, & I-PREVAIL including Spotify placements from the likes of LOUDWIRE , FEARLESS RECORDS, & HOPELESS RECORDS.

“Adrenaline” was soon followed by their next single “Never Alone”, with a massive placement on SPOTIFY’S “ROCK HARD” playlist alongside BRING ME THE HORIZONARCHITECTS, and SEETHER.

After landing a premiere with SLIPKNOT’S KNOTFEST.COM for their 3rd release “I Feel Bad”, Above Snakes return louder and heavier than ever with a brand new single “Nothing To Lose” Produced by Kile Odell and Co-written by Zach Williams of Dead Eyes.

Almost everyone you know has seen a concert that has moved them. Those productions can take over 100+ traveling crew members to set up by the time doors open.

Before and during the show they sweat and hustle to get everything ready. After the show they spend more hours erasing evidence that they were ever there at all. Many of these key players work an average of 20 hour days, then move on to the next city to make it happen all over again.

Many of these crew members, “roadies,” have been doing this as a career for decades. Some of these roadies, while experts in this field, have never had any other job experience. Since the world pandemic, well over a hundred thousand of these people are left with no income and no financial assistance.

There are no concerts or live events for the foreseeable future. At the beginning of 2020, job opportunity ceased to exist and 2021 remains uncertain. Many are unable to claim unemployment as their expert level trade skills are not recognized and they do not qualify. This on-going problem is leaving 100s of roadies without a secure livelihood.

The government has fallen short. Contacting congressmen and women, senators, and governors to raise the issue has been met with no resolution. Their replies are a formal brush-off and roadies are left hitting a dead end.

The goal with this gofundme is to offer some relief to some of the dedicated people in the roadie community. Just like you, they have families, mortgages, car payments, and day care. Commonly these workers lean on their savings between tour cycles, but those funds have run thin or run out. Please donate if you can, every little helps.

Carnival Of Madness @ First Niagara Pavilion

Tuesday night August 20th 2013 the Carnival Of Madness Tour rolled through Pittsburgh, PA and blew the roof off the First Niagara Pavilion. This tour features bands We As Human, In This Moment, Papa Roach, Skillet, and headliners of the night Shinedown. The entire concert had a different feel to it from the start. There was certainly something different about this show from the start. Could it be the crazy circus performers roaming the grounds or the $13.00 beer? Only the people there will really now? We As Human started the show off with an outstanding set with a surprise performance by Skillet’s own John Cooper. Next out was In This Moment to deliver a show that really made me wanting more. From the white faced dancers covered in blood on the stage, to the all mighty vocals of Maria Brink. They played the popular song “Blood”, and their current hit “Whore”. To me this set was rival for set of the night. Out next was the ever so famous Papa Roach. Papa Roach did what Papa Roach is known to do and deliver an energy packed performance. These guys have been around for what I believe is 20 years and you would never believe that from their on stage presence. They fly around the stage full of energy like a bunch of teenagers and put on a hell of a show. Highlights of the set were “Scars” and the hit that started it all “Last Resort”. Skillet took the stage next and absolutely blew everyone away. This is the second time I’ve seen them. The first being at Creation Festival 2013 where they headlined. They had a production at Creation that might be the biggest I’ve seen to date. I was wondering on the way in if they would have the same presence on stage without that kind of setup. They absolutely did. Smaller production does not mean smaller performance to these guys and gals. They sounded better than they did previous times and delivered. If anyone went home that night and said Skillet didn’t impress anyone, they weren’t watching the same show I was. Finally out last was the all might Shinedown. What can really be said about this group that hasn’t been said before. The insane amount of pyro that went off to start their set was incredible, and the set to follow was even more impressive. Here are some shots from the performances!

Papa Roach Out For Uproar in Pittsburgh and All Cities

Papa Roach has been forced to withdraw from the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival. Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix has been diagnosed with a nodule on his left vocal cord, and at the advice of his physician he will undergo corrective surgery to
remove the nodule and prevent further damage.

“It’s no secret that I’ve been having issues with my voice lately. I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me. I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it,” Shaddix said. “The last thing we want to do is give our fans less than 100% every night. We know they’ll understand and we’ll be back better than ever.”

Beginning Friday, August 24, the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival main stage performance schedule will be adjusted to allow longer performances from Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind and Adelitas Way.

Don’t forget all the incredible bands that will be on The Ernie Ball Stage though: Check out what is in store for Friday http://www.rockstaruproar.com/bands/

PMM will be there early with some tees- better get them while you can!

CARNIVAL OF MADNESS, the annual touring rock extravaganza, will make its roaring return with rock titans EVANESCENCE, CHEVELLE, HALESTORM and NEW MEDICINE. Kicking off Tuesday, July 31 in Springfield, IL, the 2012 trek will hit major cities across the U.S. including Boston, Baltimore, Atlanta, Nashville, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh (see full itinerary below). Select radio pre-sale tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, May 22; Carnival of Madness fan club members can begin purchasing tickets Wednesday, May 23; artist fan club pre-sales start Thursday, May 24; and general public on-sale begins Friday, June 1. Please note that Halestorm will be performing on the majority of the tour. For more information on purchasing tickets, visit http://carnivalofmadness.com/.
EVANESCENCE has sold more than 25 million records worldwide with more than 10 million in the U.S. alone. The band’s global, Top 10 hit singles “Bring Me To Life” and “My Immortal”–off their 2003 major-label debut Fallen (Wind-up Records)–led the group to two Grammy Awards (Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bring Me To Life”). Propelling the band to sales of more than 15 million albums worldwide, Fallen spent over 100 weeks on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and was certified gold or platinum in over 35 countries. The band’s follow up was 2006’s The Open Door, which sold more than 6 million copies worldwide and spawned the hit “Call Me When You’re Sober.” In October of 2011, they released their highly anticipated third studio album Evanescence, which marked the band’s first album in five years and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 album charts. The newly released album has spawned hit tracks “What You Want,” “Made Of Stone,” and “My Heart Is Broken.” Check out the video for “My Heart Is Broken” which has been viewed over 5 million times online: http://youtu.be/f1QGnq9jUU0.
“We’re really looking forward to the Carnival of Madness tour this summer. We love Chevelle and haven’t hit the road together in years, and I’m really stoked to finally be playing some shows with Halestorm. Naturally I’m a fan of strong women in music and Lzzy’s voice is spectacular,” said front woman AMY LEE about the upcoming tour.
EVANESCENCE is AMY LEE (vocals, piano), TERRY BALSAMO (guitar), TROY MCLAWHORN (guitar), TIM MCCORD (bass) and WILL HUNT (drums). For more information, please visit their website, http://www.evanescence.com.
Platinum-selling alternative hard rock trio CHEVELLE–PETE LOEFFLER (Guitars, Vocals), SAM LOEFFLER (Drums) and DEAN BERNARDINI (Bass, Vocals)–released their latest and sixth full-length album Hats Off To The Bull (Epic Records) late 2011. The album debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #19 and is being hailed as one of the finest albums of the band’s long and successful career. The explosive debut single, “Face To The Floor,” dominated the rock charts, claiming the #1 spot at Active Rock for 13 weeks. With a hypnotic and grinding riff, the song rails against the corporate corruption of Bernie Madoff and Wall Street and is a testament to the band’s songwriting prowess and eternal knack for a hit. The Chicago group’s latest single “Hats Off To The Bull” is following the same trajectory, shooting up the Active Rock chart, currently occupying the #3 position. A newly released video for the title track can be seen here: http://youtu.be/4MRLd1Cgbdg.
Pennsylvania quartet HALESTORM returned in April 2012 with their second full-length, The Strange Case of…. (Atlantic Records) after scoring two top 10 singles (“I Get Off” and “It’s Not You”) from their self-titled debut album and touring steadily with acts as diverse as Shinedown, Stone Sour, Disturbed, Megadeth, Papa Roach, Godsmack and countless others. Musically diverse and emotionally revealing, the album resonates with a newfound poignancy that takes HALESTORM–frontwoman LZZY HALE, drummer AREJAY HALE, guitarist JOE HOTTINGER and bassist JOSH SMITH–to a new level of creative achievement. The first single “Love Bites (So Do I)” is a storming rocker that illustrates frontwoman LZZY HALE’s individuality, sense of humor, and willingness to represent young women in today’s fast-paced society. The massive hit reached the Top Spot at Active Rock and is currently #2. Watch the official video here: http://youtu.be/FmkHqUwa4zg.
NEW MEDICINE–JAKE SCHERER (Vocals), DAN GARLAND (Guitar), MATTHEW BRADY (Bass) and RYAN GUANZON (Drums)–injects a little hope into hard rock on their debut album, Race You To The Bottom (Photo Finish Records). Each song tells a story, whether it’s about the loss of a loved one on “Little Sister” or the state of the world on “Race You To The Bottom.” “Laid,” the album’s first single, examines relationship troubles with a combination of wit and wisdom. The song is a propulsive lovelorn rocker that sugarcoats nothing. Scherer, who co-wrote the song with producers S*A*M & Sluggo, reveals, “It’s about an experience with a girl who’s the ultimate wild child. She gets under your skin, drives you totally crazy and she’s gone.” Their latest track at radio, “Race You To The Bottom,” has gone on to sell over 11,000 copies and the video for the song, which recently debuted on AOL’s Noisecreep, can be seen here: http://youtu.be/VjxE2RTevMQ.
