Bio/Info:

The Portland–based rock band worked with producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, The Cure, Slipknot) and mixer Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Melvins) on the 10-song album. “We wanted to leave Portland so we could be a little more immersed in the process, instead of having to think about going to get groceries and stuff,” explained Aaron Beam in a recent Revolver interview of working at Ross Robinson’s Venice, Calif. studio.

In the week’s leading up to Only Ghosts’ release, the Portland-based rock band have also created a tremendously clever video about wronged comic book collectors seeking Predator-style vengeance (“Shadows”: https://youtu.be/cnhCxVy5pfs), partnered with Stumptown Coffee Roasters for a tour only blend dubbed “The Deep” after the song of the same name and lent their music to Pabst Blue Ribbon’s retro pinball machine, The Can Crusher. The band recently held a “Shadows” inspired Coloring Book contest sponsored with Indie Merch Store and New Noise Magazine. View all entries at http://redfang.net/coloringbook.

Nerdist dubbed Only Ghosts a “supremely excellent new album” while Metal Sucks offered, “…with Only Ghosts, they’ve delivered their freshest set of jams yet. On this new album, Red Fang are executing their songwriting at a deadly precision: their melodies are hookier, their compositions perfectly tweaked, their dual-throaty-vocal layers reaching an artful tier not really seen in the genre since Blood Mountain.”

Only Ghosts is available now (www.redfang.bandcamp.com), as are physical bundles:http://bit.ly/only-ghosts.

LA-based band LANY has launched the Kinda Tour, coming to Pittsburgh on Friday, October 21stat Mr. Smalls!

LANY will be on tour to support their latest EP kinda and just completed a number of summer festivals such asBonaroo, Firefly, Hangout, Outside Lands and more. As the most streamed artist through Spotify‘s Discover Weekly feature, their songs have garnered over 22 million streams on Spotify alone. Billboard also recently announced that LANY is the number one emerging artist after the release of the music video for their single “yea, babe, no way.”

Sounds Like: Electronic pop mixing Eighties flash, blue-eyed soul, and the ongoing search for genuine

connection on a smart phone

For Fans of: Phoenix, fun., Glass Animals

Rolling Stone

“Finding the balance between sensuality and mystery in music is a very delicate process.  Some seem born with the right skill set, like the almighty Prince, effortlessly blending their melodies with the right amounts of desperation and longing. Now, [LANY] are tapping into that same rare talent…” –  Consequence of Sound

“…contains the type of moving intimacy that has attracted the attention of pop, R&B and electronica fans over the past few months.” – Billboard

“LANY are the alternative synth threesome out to take over not just the East and West coasts of America but the entire world…” – Wonderland

Leading the charge is alternative group LANY, whose single “ILYSB” is the most-streamed of all the songs that have ever been featured on Discover Weekly. The band is also the most-streamed act ever from the feature, so it’s clear that when the world grows to know LANY and they begin selling out arenas, they will have to thank Spotify for at least some of that success. – FORBES

LANY recently concluded their first headline tour which SOLD OUT well before the band played the first show, with the demand to accommodate fans resulting in extra dates being added and rooms extended.  With performances at Bonnaroo, Sasquatch and Firefly, as well as 14-dates opening for Oh Wonder already under their belt this summer, the trio will also be performing at Outside Lands and Life is Beautiful later this year. PRESS HERE for more information.

LANY (comprised of Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss) happened organically.  It began when the former school friends collaborated on songs that Klein had written and within days they had created a clutch of anthems that were too good to ignore.  Even at this early stage, their songs have connected on a large scale: the blissful dream-pop of “ILYSB” made big waves when they put it online and has over 15 million Spotify plays so far.  Their single “Where The Hell Are My Friends” is already nudging 4 million plays in a matter of weeks.  LANY create music that makes the intimate feel universal and connects them indelibly with their growing fanbase.

EYEHATEGOD To Kick Off US Tour With Discharge And Toxic Holocaust

Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe will be filling in for EYEHATEGOD vocalist Mike IX Williams on their upcoming Fall tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust.
Elaborates Williams of the decision, “Once again, rather than cancel an amazing tour, we have chosen for EYEHATEGOD to continue on and give one-thousand-percent. This 2016 Discharge tour is super important to me as that band has been a huge influence on my life, but my health situation right now dictates that I am not able to take the stage and perform to the best of my abilities every single night. This is where our good friend Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God comes into the picture. We’ve known Randall since the early ‘90s when EYEHATEGOD would pass through Virginia and he’d offer for us to crash at his crib after our gigs. Great times and we became great friends. To have Mr. Blythe on board as a fill in for me on vocals for this run is a true ‘circle-stays-unbroken’ turn of events! Coming off the heels of Philip Anselmo doing vocals for EYEHATEGOD on two high profile shows [last month’s performances at Southport Music Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana and the 2016 edition of Gwar BQ in Richmond, Virginia respectively], both of these men are at the top of their game. I am getting the medical help I need and will return to the band as soon as possible. Thank you, everybody… ”
Adds Blythe, “Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a massiveEYEHATEGOD fan. I’ve seen them play more times than I can remember, my old side project covered ‘Dixie Whiskey’ for anEYEHATEGOD tribute album, I wear their merch, I even have a freakingEYEHATEGOD tattoo that I got in New Orleans. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, period. I’ve also been friends with the guys in the band since the ‘90s… actually, I knew them before I knew the dudes in my own band, and EYEHATEGOD would often crash at my crib when they came through Richmond. So it’s a bit difficult for me to say, ‘I’m super-happy that I’ve been asked to fill in for Mike IX Williams on this upcoming tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust.’ In fact, I can’t honestly say that at all because, once again as a fan and, more importantly, a friend, no one would rather see Mike do this tour more than myself. Mike IX is THE voice of EYEHATEGOD, and I respect him as a friend, musician, and writer way too much to ever think otherwise. What Ican say is that I am beyond honored to be serving a brief tour of duty on vocals with EYEHATEGOD for this upcoming run.
When I was asked to fill in for Mike IX due to his health issues, I immediately said, ‘I’ll do it, as long as all of the guys in the band are cool with it, especially Mike; it can’t be any other way.’ I know from talking to him that Mike is very, very bummed to not be on this tour, especially given the fact that the legendary Discharge is one of his all-time favorite bands. In light of that fact alone, it’s a huge testament to the man’s character that he’s being gracious enough to let the band continue to work while he concentrates on his medical issues, which are entirely legitimate and prevent him from taking the stage night after night. The other guys need to keep the band alive while IX gets better. As anyone who has ever seen the band can attest, the stage of an EYEHATEGODshow isn’t exactly the ideal place to rest and recuperate from an illness, and that is the most important thing here: that Mike IX gets better. In order to both give him the time to take care of his health while simultaneously keeping EYEHATEGOD an active working unit, I’ll be proud to do my bit on this tour and take the stage with what is undeniably one of the heaviest bands on earth. It will be a savage experience; I can promise you that. Let the down-to-earth-motherfuckin’-post-amplification-blues begin! Hail Mike IX.”
EYEHATEGOD’s journey with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust will commence on October 6th and run through October 15th trampling ten cities in seven states, the tour concluding with a one-off show in Chicago with Negative Approach and Svlphvrvs. See all confirmed dates below.

_untitled__1EYEHATEGOD reemerged stronger and more determined than ever before with their self-titled LP, which dropped in 2014 via Housecore Records. Reaping critical acclaim globally, the record marks the band’s most successful release in their twenty-five-plus-year lineage. Having helped define the NOLA sound with their signature down-tuned, blues-inflected guitars awash in furious distortion, underpinning the tormented screams of Mike IX Williams over a thundering rhythm section,EyeHateGod personifies desperation and addiction in the various backwaters of forgotten America, punctuated by the “N’awlins” sound of rebellion and pollution resulting in triumph over adversity.

Stream: No One Mind – “Tiger”
“perfect and haunting” – Impose

After the abrupt and acrimonious dissolution of their previous musical partnership, Ellis Anderson, Noah Dehmer and Missy Thangs (The Love LanguageBirds of Avalon) set out to make a record that could give voice to their feelings of betrayal. The album they created, No One Mind, addresses both the accuser and the accused, perspectives sometimes shifting within a single phrase. The project, defined by the record, took the name as well.

No One Mind has now grown into a formidable live ensemble, adding Sam Logan and Joel Willis (Dehmer remains a writing partner). Together they fuse traditional rock and pop song structures with alien chordal forms and odd textures, calling the listener to flutter moth-like into the white light of their sound. NoOne Mind has big plans for 2016, including a 7″ limited single released in June and the full-length LP coming in September (both on Third Uncle Records), a magical video debut by director Zoe Dehmer, and a number of shows to follow. The band is ready to tour, everywhere.

THE BELLICOSE MINDS: Seminal Release From Portland Goth/Punks Reissued Via A389; Noisey Streaming Entire LP

As A389 Recordings prepares for the official remastered reissue of The Buzz Or Howl Sessions — the out-of-print 2009-released recordings from Portland, Oregon’s THE BELLICOSE MINDS — Noisey is now streaming the record.

THE BELLICOSE MINDS likes to keep the music dark, and sinister, always throwing cynical thought to the foreground, flowing with a dark, early-’80s Gothic rock edge. Having exposed the rock underworld to an array of independent releases since their incarnation in 2008, The Buzz Or Howl Sessions is considered to be some of BELLICOSE MINDS‘ core, seminal material by their devout, underworld fanbase. Self-citing influences from The Chameleons, The Sound, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and Danse Society, and of course the rain the Northwest continually brings, the energy and purposefully dated tone of the album bears familial roots to TSOL, Agent Orange and some of the darker West Coast punk/hardcore acts of the mid-late ’80s, and finds them on a regenerative plateau with contemporary acts like Beastmilk and Alaric. Initially self-released only as a five hundred-copy run on dubbed cassettes, A389 Recordings will officially re-release the long out-of-print The Buzz Or Howl Sessions for the first time ever on vinyl on February 7th, in both black and clear color schemes. The initial masters of the record have been completely remastered at Audiosiege, and the artwork and layout feature a full redesign.

Sink into the melodic infectiousness of The Buzz Or Howl Sessions via Noisey now AT THIS LOCATION.

THE BELLICOSE MINDS have a plethora of new material written and their next full-length — the follow-up to 2013’s The Spine LP — is in the works and will see release through A389 later in 2014. Havingtoured and performed at key underground punk festivals in North America in the past, new live actions for the band will be choreographed with the release of their new album. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.

LORD DYING Added to Ghost B.C. Shows In Pacific Northwest

lorddying2web

Having recently completed work on their Relapse Records debut, LORD DYING have confirmed that they will be sharing the stage with Ghost B.C. and Ides of Gemini. These two special shows will take place at The Wonder Ballroom in Portland, OR on April 26th and Seattle, WA at The Showbox at the Market on April 27th.

LORD DYING are stoked to play with these two shows:

“We’re are extremely excited to be performing with Ides of Gemini and Sweden’s delightfully fiendish Ghost B.C. , on their two Northwestern dates, these shows will not disappoint!”

LORD DYING come from Portland, Oregon, a place over abundant with purveyors of the heavy riff. A region where the inhabitants are plagued with nerve and joint damage due to lack of sunlight. In a time where everyone is trying to out-sludge or out-doom each other LORD DYING gives something less than a fuck. They are a metal band with members of Black Elk , Portals, Le Force, and Cremains, who in their short, one year’s time as a band have shared the stage with Down, Unsane, Yob, Valient Thorr, Black Cobra and many others.

After releasing a self-titled EP in 7″ form, the dudes kicked it up a notch, heading out on national tours with Witch Mountain followed by a long trek with label-mates Red Fang and Black Tusk.  Fast forward to 2013 andLORD DYING are poised to be the new heavyweight champions of metal.  Smashing the riffs of High On Fire into the groove of Kylesa, LORD DYINGhave delivered one of the most impressive metal debuts in a long, long time.  A young band that has matured well beyond their years into a fully developed titanic heavy metal machine, LORD DYING‘s new album, set for a summer release on Relapse Records, is poised to be one of the best debuts of 2013.

LORD DYING Live:

April 6 Seattle, WA at Sunset Tavern w/ The Anunnaki and Stoneburner

April 20 Portland, OR Mississippi Studios w/ Floor, Norska, Black Pussy, Hot Victory

April 26 Portland, OR The Wonder Ballroom w/ Ghost B.C and Ides of Gemini

“I hear so many bands every day that all want to be signed,” claims Standby CEO Neil Sheehan. “Of those bands though, there’s only a very few where I stop working, turn up my speakers and marvel at the uniqueness and inspirational vibe the band has created. When I first heard WHISPERS OF WONDER from the demo they sent me, I completely lost track of everything I was doing and had to learn more about this band. In a few mere moments, I knew that WHISPERS OF WONDER was a band that was perfect for the Rock N’ Roll 2.0 movement.”

Sheehan is not the only one that has been moved. The brilliant vocals of Lukkie Thornton draw the listener close while the guitars of Chree Thornton and Tristen Warren pepper their sound of delicious wondercore to a whole new musical level of excellence. The three of them ride the rock solid foundation of Calin Wormdahl on drums and Austin Shaner on bass to create the most intricate, balanced and musically mesmerizing sound heard in recent memory.

Now signed with Standby Records, WHISPERS OF WONDER is currently holed up in Portland writing new songs for release on their debut to be released in 2013.

WHISPERS OF WONDER is:
Lukkie Thornton: Lead Vocals
Chree Thornton: Guitar/Vocals
Austin Shaner: Bass Guitar/Vocals
Tristen Warren: Guitar/Vocals
Calin Wormdahl: Drums
