In promotion of their much acclaimed new album ‘Theories Of Flight’, U.S. Progressive Metal pioneers FATES WARNING are debuting their promotional video for the song “Seven Stars” via the website of Billboard today. Check out the clip, which was directed by David Brodsky for MyGoodEye / www.mgenyc.com, here:
FATES WARNING vocalist Ray Alder checked in with the following comment about the video:
“We are happy to debut the new video for “Seven Stars” from our latest album “Theories Of Flight”. This song is very special to me. The lyrics for this song were the first that I had written for the new album. I knew that my life was changing, I had met my lovely (now) wife who lived in Madrid, Spain and she was the inspiration for this song. I knew that I would be moving to Madrid soon, so the lyrics tended to come very organically. That theme would develop more as the writing progressed. Stories of change and moving on. Living life really. I found the flag of Madrid quite interesting. Seven white stars surrounded by red…Hence the inspiration for the title. I figured I would give a little tour of the city in the video since I’m now here. Enjoy!”

FATES WARNING Online:
Post-metal prog act INRONAUT will release their highly-anticipated new album, HABITUAL LEVITATIONS (INSTILLING WORDS WITH TONES) in North America on March 19, 2012 via Century Media Records.
Drums were recorded by producer John Haddad [Exhumed, Phobia] and Derek Donley [Bereft] handled recording for all other elements on the record. It was mixed by Josh Newell and artwork and layout will be done by David D’Andrea who has worked with the band on previous albums.
INTRONAUT recently posted a rehearsal video, where they are practicing a new song that will be featured on HABITUAL LEVITATIONS (INSTILLING WORDS WITH TONES):
INTRONAUT’s last studio album, Valley Of Smoke, was met with vast critical acclaim and the band toured extensively in support of the album. In addition to landing a slot as direct support for TOOL, INTRONAUT toured with Animals As Leads, Cynic, The Ocean, Helmet and more.
The band is confirmed for this year’s Roadburn Festival held in the Netherlands and will be doing a full European tour around the event with The Atlas Moth and Castle. A full North American tour will be announced soon.
For the next T&B release, the label goes Dutch and dirty with Guerilla Speakerz, the young duo of Daniel and Marlon from the Netherlands. They like ridiculous sunglasses, scissoring synthetic bass and massive kicks, rocking them everywhere from their monthly residency at Amsterdamʼs Bitterzoet to massive festivals around the country.
Holla EP is like a big postcard of “F*ck Off and Dance,” melting down your favorite styles— bassline, hip-hop, big-room house, and grime—then rebuilding them into gold bricks that smash the dance.
Title track “Holla” rides the wave of the new trap phenomenon with lush old-skool pads laying over 140 bpms of thick and nasty boom-clap. Whether youʼre rocking a club, block party or your Jeep, youʼll love this tune, perfectly straddling the line between rap and rave. “Parool” is a minimal bit with huge drops leading into a classic T&B-style heavy bass joint, with some gunshots and Dutchy bits for good measure. An underground tune that even a big-room DJ could love, for fans of early Jack Beats and Foamo.
Last, but actually first, is “Polaroid,” which has all the screw face factor of early grime tunes but an arrangement built for modern dance floors. Evil waves of bass and cracker-crisp snares dominate this slice of mutant breaks, urging you to shake it like a Polaroid… well, you know. We canʼt think of a more well-rounded release in the heavy bass style—watch your speakerz.
Already played on BBC Radio 1ʼs show by Diplo & Baauer, with additional support from Laidback Luke, Will Bailey, Drop the Lime, Mightyfools, Greenmoney, and Lucid.

Megadeth and Rob Zombie rocked Stage AE in Pittsburgh last week and will continue to do so throughout the U.S. and Europe. MPAPPHOTO was there to capture the pure energy of the show and has joined Pittsburgh Music Magazine as a collaborator.
Metal icons MEGADETH are delivering volcanic performances and earning rave reviews on their co-headlining tour with Rob Zombie, which marks the first time the two bands have toured together. The trek kicked off Friday, May 11 in Holmdel, NJ and will include two high-profile rock festival appearances including Rock On The Range and Rocklahoma, where the tour wraps on Saturday, May 26. A list of confirmed dates is below. For additional information on purchasing tickets, visit www.megadeth.com.
Prior to the show, the New York Times proclaimed that “the speed pioneers Megadeth have the decibels to fill the grandiose PNC” and the New York Daily News said, “At last year’s faceoff with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, the band led by Dave Mustaine offered a set that did both their sub-genre and legacy proud (5/10/12).”
In a review of the first show, Tris McCall of the Newark, NJ Star-Ledger said, “While most of the band’s peers have either slowed down, broken up or switched to a more profitable style, Megadeth presses on, hard and fast as ever. Mustaine is a study in perseverance–and professionalism, too: He recently had to re-learn how to play guitar after suffering nerve damage in his arm. That trauma has left no mark on him–his solos, sometimes taken in harmony with sideman Chris Broderick, are as dextrous, and rapid-fire, as ever (5/13/12).” Theexaminer.com added, “The musicians ripped and shredded their way through riffs and solos with machine-like precision, yet somehow projecting an earnest passion through the notes that speaks to the raw emotion of Mustaine’s songwriting (5/13/12).”
After their tour with ROB ZOMBIE wraps at Rocklahoma, MEGADETH–singer/guitarist DAVE MUSTAINE, bassist DAVID ELLEFSON, drummer SHAWN DROVER and guitarist CHRIS BRODERICK–will head to Europe for shows in Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Czech Republic, England, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France, Romania, Turkey, Switzerland, Greece, Belgium, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland, then in September will head to South America for concerts in Chile, Argentina and Mexico.
A newly released video for the group’s next single “Whose Life (Is It Anyway?)” can be seen now.. The video is a heavy metal tour de force, depicting youth angst turned violent, resulting in an apocalyptic finale.
The current tour comes on the heels of MEGADETH’s critically acclaimed return of the traveling festival GIGANTOUR, created and curated by frontman DAVE MUSTAINE. Rave reviews poured in for the festival, which also featured MOTÖRHEAD, VOLBEAT and LACUNA COIL. “The return of Gigantour, a nicely curated package tour of heavy metal bands, is just one more step in a great run underway by Megadeth,” wrote the Boston Globe. “It was a smart and well-paced show, one that illuminated metal’s various angles (1/31/12).”
2011 marked the release of MEGADETH’s 13th album, the appropriately titled Th1rt3en. Released November 1 on Roadrunner Records, the album debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #1 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart. The album also landed on international charts including Top 10 placements in Argentina, Finland, Korea and Japan. MEGADETH also received their tenth Grammy nomination for this project, earning a “Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance” nomination for their single “Public Enemy #1.” The “Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance” category was, eerily, category #13.
