Future Generations in Pittsburgh @BrilloBox on August 3rd

Future Generations has been busy since the NYC quintet released its debut album in July 2016. In 2017, Future Generations played an official SXSW showcase in March and continued a streak of successful shows including in NYC, Philly, Nashville, Dallas, and DC. In November, FG toured out to Chicago and Atlanta to support Savoir Adore, and played with them again this February.

In addition to “Stars,” Future Generations singles “Thunder In The City” and “Coast” garnered over 1 million streams combined. “You’ve Got Me Flush” has emerged as the band’s second-most popular song, racking up almost 1 million Spotify plays on its own. The album has led to favorable comparisons to MGMT and Passion Pit, with the band’s love of catchy hooks and dynamic electronic production evident throughout.

Future Generations is Eddie Gore (vox, keys, guitar), Mike Sansevere (synthesizer, guitar, percussion), Eric Grossman (guitar), Devon Sheridan (bass) and Dylan Wells (percussion). Gore, Sansevere and Grossman met while in college at Fordham University and the 3 quickly bonded over sharing a nerd-like, academic appreciation of all forms of pop, rap and rock music. The three have been writing and recording music together since the first day they met; Junior year, Gore recruited Sheridan, a fellow Fordham 2015 classmate, to join the band.

After graduation, Future Generations recorded in Brooklyn with Eli Janney (Tweens) and enlisted Claudius Mittendorfer (Neon Indian) for production. They added Wells in March 2016, after he tried out for the band via a Craiglist ad. The band currently lives together in Brooklyn.

Galaktikon II: Become The Storm follows the space-age theme of 2012’s original Galaktikonalbum, with a conceptual storyline and a heavier, darker, more brutal sound. In addition to Brendon Small on vocals and guitar, the new album will feature acclaimed musicians and Dethklok alum Bryan Beller (bass/The Aristocrats, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai) and Gene Hoglan (drums/Testament, Death, Dark Angel). Galaktikon II: Become The Storm was co-produced by Small and Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Ulrich Wild, who also worked behind the board on the Dethklok albums.
With these names behind the project, it should come as no surprise that Galaktikon II: Become The Storm is a welcomed transformation and expansion of the sound that put Brendon Small on the musical map. With uncapped time and creativity on their side, Small & Co. were able to reach above and beyond what fans have come to expect as of now. Galaktikon II: Become The Storm proves to be Small’s most commanding release yet.
“This record is a combination of all the sounds I’ve been making throughout my creative life,” says Brendon Small. “It’s as heavy as I want it to be and melodic as I want it to be – it’s the bigger, darker record I wanted to hear. And what a way to celebrate my 10 year anniversary of making metal with Gene, Bryan and Ulrich, some of the best in the industry. I’m excited to have it live inside listeners’ heads and let their imaginations take over!”
Fans should anticipate plenty of early tidbits, such as track leaks and videos, leading up to the release of Galaktikon II: Become The Storm, so stay tuned!

Cinematic Music Group/RED Set To Release JOEY BADA$$ “Waves” Single

Joey Bada$$ Emerges as Artist To Watch in 2013:

“…the high school senior has been tapped as one of the premiere MCs to emerge from the recent wellspring of hip-hop hopefuls pouring our of the greater New York City area.” – Interview Magazine

“The precocious 17-year old MC…has many critics hyping him as New York hip hop’s last hope, the heir apparent to lyrical giants like Nas and Big L” – XXL Magazine

“Joey conjures a sepia-toned, three-dimensional world, balanced between youthful exuberance and unsettling adult poise.”- Pitchfork

Joey Bada$$, a member of the burgeoning New York City-based rap crew Pro Era, is set to digitally release his song, “Waves”. An ode to teenage aspiration, “Waves”- one of the most uplifting singles from his critically-acclaimed mixtape 1999- has had fans and music critics across the globe talking about the 17-year-old MC’s uncanny talent and meaningful subject matter. 1999 was released earlier this year as a free download and fan response was immediate: without any promotion, by word-of-mouth the “Waves” video went into heavy rotation at MTV2; The New York Times described 1999 as, “casual in presentation but complex in execution, full of offhand assonance that’s hypnotic”; and the mixtape earned a BET Hip Hop Award nomination catapulting Joey to national attention.

In early November, Joey Bada$$ performed the song on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Joey Bada$$ recently inked an innovative deal with Cinematic Music Group/Creative Control distributed by RED Distribution.

With a reworked version of the sample originally featured in the mixtape version of the song, this release offers existing fans a new look at the track while introducing Joey Bada$$ to a whole new audience. In addition, the special release will include “Enter The Void”, a brand new song from Joey produced by Lee Bannon with a feature from TDE’s Ab-Soul. The two MCs trade bars of wisdom beyond their years over a slow soulful loop, offering their take on perceptive reality and inviting the listener into a spiritual journey.

The digital release is an opportunity to introduce new listeners to Joey Bada$$ and his meaningful brand of Pro Era hip hop and for those that are already fans to experience his riveting collaboration with Ab-Soul. The singles can be bought together as a bonus for $1.29 per song or for $1.99 for both tracks (including the “Waves” video exclusively on iTunes)

Joey Bada$$ has been drumming up serious excitement and discussions about his place in New York rap lore, drawing regular comparisons to greats like Nas, Biggie, and Big L. With his Pro Era crew, comprised of already buzzing Capital STEEZ, CJ Fly, Kirk Knight, and producer Chuck Strangers, Joey is leading one of the most compelling cultural movements to come out of NYC today.”If 2012 is Pro Era’s branding year, expect the future to only be brighter for a crew who intend to make the mecca of Hip-Hop their official stomping grounds,”said The Source in a recent feature about Pro Era.

Joey and Pro Era will be headlining New York’s Hot 97’s “Who’s Next” concert at SOB’s on November 20th and are gearing up for their first European tour with already sold out shows in all cities including London and Paris. In the spirit of staying true to their fanbase, Pro Era will release their next free tape on December 21st.
