Movies final 3000px

Houston, TX Rock Band HOLD ON HOLLYWOOD has released the official music video for their single “Movies.” Directed, shot, and edited by Blake Ralston, “Movies” is off of the band’s Valentine’s Day released EP, Love Stories.

Player

“We wrote this song about a time in our lives that’s very dear to us, and probably everyone. When everything was exciting & you and your friends had that new found freedom, one of y’all just started driving or something. You had that person you were crushing on, and you all just wanted to go out and have fun, every time hoping you’d run in to that one person wherever you all went, or building up the courage to ask them out.

It’s funny now to see this video come out at a time like this. It’s a song about going out and being with friends, youthful nostalgia, and we’re all locked in our homes right now on quarantine. The irony sure is funny, but we hope this gives you something to enjoy and remember those good times, while looking forward to more to come.

We got to step into what we consider a “big studio” for the first time as a band for this EP, and had Matt Noveskey of Blue October at the helm producing. Along with Matt Meli (engineer/mixing), they really helped to bring the “Love Stories” to life for us at Orb Studios in Austin, TX. We wanted the video to feel just as “larger than life” as that recording experience did for us!” – NICK DEES (Lead Guitarist)

“Movies” is one of those songs that you know is destined for great things on the very first listen. No pretentious BS, no filler. And the hooks and melodies are irresistible. The video is the perfect visual complement to the song. To me it’s the classic tale of freedom, camaraderie and the human connection. Watching a video like this reminds you that life is supposed to be FUN. Producing the song and being a part of the journey with the guys is a complete honor. The world needs content like this more than ever.” – MATT NOVESKEY (Producer / Bassist of Blue October)

Hyper Violent “Muck” Set to be First Horror Film Available in 4K

The world’s biggest television manufacturers, including Samsung, LG, and Sony, used last week’s CES 2014 as a launching pad to declare that they will lead us into the 4K / Ultra HD revolution in 2014, content or not. Those who attended CES 2014 in Las Vegas were amazed by the visual experience of the latest in HD. The biggest Hollywood studios and TV programmers, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Amazon, Netflix, and others, are already rushing to create content in 2014 for the breathtaking picture of new 4K / Ultra HD TVs. Ahead of the curve, however, is Steve Wolsh’s independent horror film, Muck; out in front, Muck will become one of the first titles anywhere to offer consumers the premium 4K / Ultra HD experience.
For Steve Wolsh, being independent with a limited budget would not stop him from literally seeing the bigger picture, and he knew that 4K / Ultra HD was the future. Muck is full of stunning slow motion fire, glass explosions, water combat, and rapid-paced fierce horror stunts that will jump off the screen in 2014 in both HD and Ultra HD. Muck pushes the limits of what can be done in both independent filmmaking and within the horror genre.  Steve Wolsh aims to get Muck in as many languages and territories as possible, so he partnered up with Blacklist Productions in Hollywood to have the ability to screen Muck in 4K / Ultra HD for interested parties.
Steve Wolsh and company did not waste any time to begin pre-production for Muck Offed (the Muck prequel). With the release ofMuck later this year, casting for Muck Offed is already underway. For the prequel, Steve Wolsh has promised to push his practical effects and the phrase “No CGI” into even more dangerous places. The entire original Muck cast, including Horror Legend Kane Hodder and 2012 Playboy Playmate of the Year Jaclyn Swedberg, as well as Australian hunk Lachlan Buchanan (NewcastlePretty Little Liars, and NCIS: Red), YouTube sensation Lauren Francesca, Indian beauty Puja Mohindra, Bryce Draper, Grant Alan Ouzts, Stephanie Danielson, and Laura Jacobs (Almost Human), will all be alive and well in the prequel along with the 13 new characters being added to the Muck universe. It could get messy…

THEATRICAL TRAILER FOR UPCOMING HYPER VIOLENT HORROR FLICK, “MUCK”

“Muck” Film Stars Horror Legend Kane Hodder and the 2012 Playboy Playmate of the Year

Following up on its teaser trailer that generated over 30 articles in the horror community and earned the only horror film panel at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo 2013, WithanO Productions just released the theatrical trailer for its upcoming “Muck” film.  “Muck” stars the horror legend Kane Hodder (“Friday the 13th” 7-10, “Hatchet” trilogy) and the new Scream Queen, 2012 Playboy Playmate of the Year, Jaclyn Swedberg.  The trailer will provide a more in-depth look at the film, and it can be seen at http://youtu.be/EJUg8D3VpSQ or on the film’s website, www.getthemuckout.com.
“Muck” was filmed completely on the Red Epic in Ultra HD over the course of 19 grueling all-night shoots.  Shot entirely on location in the swamps and marshes of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, this dangerous shoot was nearly impossible when you factor in first-time director Steve Wolsh produced “Muck” on a mirco-budget of $200,000.
Although an independent feature, “Muck” matches the quality of any top Hollywood film.  By using the industry’s preferred 4K HD camera, “Muck” images surpassed larger budget indie films even before DaVinci color correction.   For the record, the Red cameras used weren’t “stolen”, just “borrowed without asking” and returned with minimal water damage.  Moreover, after Universal Studios viewed the first cut of the film, the powerhouse agreed to mix “Muck” for theatre surround sound on the Universal lot.

Besides the Horror Legend and Playmate of the Year, “Muck” features an amazing cast of up-and-coming actors, led by Australian hunk Lachlan Buchanan (“Newcastle”, “Pretty Little Liars”, and “NCIS: Red”) and Indian beauty Puja

Mohindra.  Very few Hollywood films feature strong lead roles for Indian actresses, and this is a first for any American horror film, a breakout role for Mohindra.
The “Muck” production did not make it easy on the actors, though.  SAG expressed concern during production of this film, stating, “‘Muck’ is, without a doubt, one of the top 5 most violent scripts we have ever seen come through.”  With concern from SAG, horror fans can rejoice about stunts in the upcoming film:  in-water fighting, full-body fire burns, high-impact falls, and even a naked woman thrown through glass.

Dave Grohl’s Sound City Film Sure to Be Real to Real

45-635bac73251fd49fb8f860130bfb090f

I am so pumped for Dave Grohl’s new documentary about legendary studio Sound City in Van Nuys, CA to be released Feb. 1. The amount of people appearing in the doc is pretty sick (http://buy.soundcitymovie.com/cast) and will have any music buff salivating. Grohl actually purchased the custom Neve 8028 Console from Studio A, in order to install the board at his private recording studio. Just to name some famous moments that came out of Sound City: Neil Young’s After The Gold Rush, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, Nirvana’s Nevermind, and Metallica’s Death Magnetic. Tom Petty, Charles Manson (yea- that Charles Manson), Foreigner, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Joe Cocker are some of the other artists who have pumped out legendary tunes there. If the walls could talk!

Here is part of Dave’s message when you purchase the film, “I started this project a little over a year ago with ONE of my good old friends (Jim Rota from the band Fireball Ministry). That’s right….just me, my drinking buddy, and a crazy idea that we should tell the story of a studio we had loved hanging around for years, and our heartbreak to see it close. It soon blossomed into something truly epic! I don’t think either of us ever imagined our little project would become what it is now. Like all the best things in life, it just…….happened.

From day one, it was the most incredible experience of my life. I swear. Sitting down with Neil Young talking about recording guitars, John Fogerty telling me about the day he decided to become a musician, Stevie Nicks telling me the story of how she joined Fleetwood Mac, Trent Reznor schooling me on the world of computers and digital technology, etc etc etc…..can you imagine? All I had to do was listen…I am the luckiest man on earth.

And, being a completely independent film, no one told us how or what to do! Me and my crew of under 20 people did it OUR way. It was like a keg party with a camera. WE got to tell the story of a place we all held so dear. WE wanted to do it justice. And I think we did.

But, SOUND CITY is only part of the story…..

What is it that happens when 4 people turn on, plug in, and really play that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up? What is it about those moments when you hear something and it immediately puts its hooks in you, and you feel…..understood? What is it that will inspire the next generation of kids wanna do what I did when I was a little punk growing up in Springfield, Virginia? That feeling like, “Wait……I can do this too…..”

That’s what I’m talking about. That human connection. That human feel. That human sound…that isn’t perfect…but it’s sooooo good.

I really feel like SOUND CITY is my life’s most important work. I hope you do too.

Psyched that you get to see it! Show it to your friends! Get together, start a band, sound like shit, and change the world. GO!”

the first round of theaters have been announced…some of these are ONE NIGHT ONLY.

The Soundtrack: SOUND CITY – REAL TO REAL, the album, features Grohl enlisting the musical legends who recorded at Sound City–and then some (hello, Paul McCartney!) to demonstrate the human element of creating and recording music, teaming up to write and record brand new original songs on the spot.
