Dj Ashba of Sixx:A.M. Teams Up with Dean Markley

Dj Ashba of Sixx:A.M. Teams Up with Dean Markley

“To be a true guitarist isn’t about anything except the art of playing guitar.” — Dj Ashba

Dean Markley USA announces the addition of guitarist Dj Ashba to their artist roster along with the Dj Ashba Artist Series of strings. Ashba joins many musicians who proudly play Dean Markley strings.

The Dj Ashba Artist Series is a custom set of gauges that feature .010, .013, .017, .028, .038, and .048 from the longtime favorite, Dean Markley Signature Series of nickel plated strings.

unnamedDj Ashba is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and graphic designer. He grew up in Fairbury, Illinois, where he worked in the cornfields to earn enough money to buy his first guitar. Influenced by Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen, he practiced tirelessly, sometimes 17 hours a day. By the time he moved to Los Angeles at 18, he was proficient enough to become an in-demand session and touring guitarist. He released a well-received solo album, Addiction to the Friction, composed music for film scores, and in 2007 partnered with Nikki Sixx and James Michael to form Sixx:A.M. From 2009 to 2015, Ashba also played lead guitar in Guns N’ Roses. As a co-producer and songwriter, he has worked with a diverse list of talent ranging from Motley Crue to Neil Diamond. Most recently, Dj scored the title song to Eli Roth’s 2015 hit movie The Green Inferno. Dj has been featured on hit TV shows such as History Channel’s Counting Cars and Animal Planet’s Tanked. This Fall, see Dj Ashba touring arenas with Sixx:A.M. to bring the band’s two 2016 releases, Volume 1, Prayers For The Damned and Volume 2, Prayers For The Blessed live to fans across North America.

“Being a guitarist means being true to what you do,” says Dj Ashba. “Guitar is an art, and it takes a lot of years and dedication. It’s not an overnight thing. It’s a super-long road, and you’re going to hit the ground, but at the end of the day, what makes you a true guitarist is honing in on a unique style and never giving up.”

Loudwire gets Exclusive Q&A With Nikki Sixx + Vince Neil Read More: Motley Crue Final Tour: Q&A With Nikki Sixx + Vince Neil

by Chad Childers January 29, 2014 12:51 PM on Loudwire.com

The end is nigh for Motley Crue. The band said as much during a Tuesday (Jan. 28) press conference in Los Angeles where they revealed the details of “The Final Tour” (first leg of dates below). In fact, to ensure that these next two years will mark the band’s final dates, the members of Crue went through the process of collectively drawing up a ‘Cessation of Touring’ legal document and signing it to solidify that their upcoming dates will be the final shows and that they won’t tour again beyond the year 2015.

The press conference itself began with representatives from Live Nation and Dodge speaking about the ticketing and sponsorship of the trek, Big Machine’s Scott Borchetta talking about the upcoming Motley Crue tribute album featuring country artists, director Jeff Tremaine speaking about the upcoming ‘The Dirt’ film, and the band’s attorney Doug Mark discussing the unique plan the group came up with to end their career by making it legal. In addition, tour opener Alice Cooper offered a few words about Motley Crue’s legacy before the four band members eventually took the stage.

Speaking about their legacy at the press conference, Vince Neil stated, “I’ve always thought it was just that they did it their way. It may seem a little cliché, but we did. We did everything against the grain and were never a critic’s band, never won any big awards, but we’ve always been a fan band and that’s the thing I think that people will remember about us is that we did it right because we did it the way we wanted to.” You can watch the full press conference in its entirety at this location as well as a promo for the tour here.

After the press conference, Loudwire had a chance to speak exclusively with Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil about ‘The Final Tour’ as well as the prospects of new Motley Crue music. Check out our brief Q&A below:

Did actually signing the ‘Cessation of Touring’ document during the press conference make it feel any more real to you than when you first came up with this idea?

Vince Neil: Not really. I think when we first decided to do this we were pretty stuck on it. We did this to prove, not to ourselves, but to everyone else that we mean this.

Nikki Sixx: We worked really hard on that document. We’ve been working on it for a month. We’ve had the idea for years. It just got more real. There are no loopholes and no grey areas. It’s an agreement between us. It feels really good to have people, when they’re interviewing us, going wow — this is no joke. I’ve talked to people over the years that have mentioned, oh yeah me and the guys have talked about maybe wrapping it up in a few years and they go, ‘yeah, for now.’

Let’s say the Crue were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years down the line? Would you reunite to perform at the ceremony?

Vince Neil: Something like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we’d have to sit down and talk about it.

Nikki Sixx: It’s ‘cease to tour.’ I think it’s going to be interesting when the next band announces a farewell tour. They’re going to say, ‘Well is it a farewell tour like Motley Crue? Or is it like all the other bands.’

As for this tour, we assume we’ll get the hits, but will you be playing any rarities or deep cuts?

Vince Neil: It’s one of those things we always have to deal with, no matter what: Do you play your hits? Or do you take ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ out and play ‘Fight for Your Rights’? You’re going to piss people off no matter what. People don’t realize there’s limited time. There’s curfews at places and you only have so long to play you can’t put everything in. Once you put all your hits in, you’re already at your time limit.

What do you think it will be like for the fans that are seeing you for the last time?

Nikki Sixx: I’ve thought about what it’ll be like for the fans. I can see that final bow in Peoria, and they’re going, ‘This is it.’ I know I’d feel emotional if one of my favorite bands was going out.

What’s the status on any new music? Will there be a new Motley Crue album?

Nikki Sixx: It’s hard to find vehicles for your music. Working with Dodge is a great example. It’s such a perfect fit for Motley Crue and for them. Things we’ve done in the past like that where we’re able to extend our music to the masses and writing new music for situations like that, that’s exciting. It’s getting harder and harder to feel inspired to spend six months on a record. All that passion, all those great lyrics, all those melodies, performances, all that time and money and it falls on deaf ears. Where we’re at in the state of the music industry, we’re trying to find new ways to get our music to more people, rather than more music to less people.

The Motley Crue ‘Final Tour’ with special guest Alice Cooper begins July 2 in Grand Rapids, Mich. Tickets for fan club members go on sale today (Jan. 29). VIP packages will be available Jan. 30, with the general on-sale for most shows on Friday, Jan. 31. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster and MotleyVIP.com. Nikki Sixx Meets The Kings of Chaos

Kings of Chaos is quite possibly one of the most decorated Supergroups in all of rock history.  Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Corey Taylor of Stone Sour/Slipknot, Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughes and Steve Stevens of Billy Idol.  Nikki went to their only North American performance this year in LA and hung out with the band before the show.  He was particularly blown away by  Hughesacoustic performance of the Deep Purple gem, “Mistreated.”  Nikki shared stories from the evening, click HERE to listen to that.  Then Nikki shared the story about the very first time he met Glenn Hughes, years before anyone ever heard of Motley Crue.  Click HERE to hear this classic story of the LA rock scene.

For the unique collector I am finally going to be selling one of my basses I play during the show this tour.  I have said no to this for a long time and still have collectors come backstage and offer to buy my basses.  I wanted to do something I feel good about and give that person a personal experience on top of taking home one of my played basses from the show.  These are not cheap junker basses.  These are what i play. Pittsburgh Gets The Treatment

If you came late to the Motley Crue and KISS show on Sunday in Pittsburgh, what you missed was an up and coming band who is a complete throwback to good time rock n roll. The Treatment are gaining fans across the world for their unabashed love of classic power rock. The Pittsburgh crowd absolutely loved these guys. Their CD’s were being scooped up right alongside all the Kiss and Crue merchandise- which is no easy feat. The Treatment made sure to make appearances after Crue and after KISS played, connecting with a new fan base that will serve them well. As previewed earlier here in PMM (http://pittsburghmusicmagazine.com/2012/08/15/the-treatments-this-might-hurt-proves-you-will-enjoy-a-little-pain/), The LP “This Might Hurt” is an instant classic with so many rockers it will certainly be blasting out of your speakers for a long time to come. Obviously growing up watching AC/DC, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Motley Crue, KISS, Aerosmith, and all the classic good time bands- these guys not only put out a great musical effort- they back it up on stage. Their sound and show was brilliant, especially for an opening band with two of the biggest legends in rock who are also their heroes. The Treatment performed under the pressure and really won over what would usually be a non-interested crowd. By all means, if you have the opportunity to catch these guys on the remaining dates of “The Tour”, please get there early and feast your eyes and ears on true talent. We can only hope these guys stay on this side of The Pond for awhile and continue to entertain us.

For a little history on the band their official bio states, “The Treatment were formed in 2008, when founder member drummer Dhani Mansworth was still at school in Cambridge . Although only 15 at the time he already had a clear vision of the kind of band he wanted to form. Having grown up on a diet of ACDC, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith he began to put the band together under the watchful eye of his father guitarist and manager Laurie Mansworth (More, Airrace, Roadstar).

Having had little success with local musicians he decided to go further afield. First to join the line up was 18 year old Ben Brookland from Tadley, he shared the same passion for classic bands as Dhani. Ben’s unique guitar style suited the bill perfectly. Soon after came bass player Rick Newman (aka Swoggle) also 15. Rick’s enthusiasm and solid bass sound fitted perfectly. Rick suggested that the band audition Tagore Grey his school friend and guitarist from Petersfield. Rick’s recommendation was spot on as Tag’s guitar style was exactly what they had been looking for. The boys passion for the band was proved when they all packed bags and moved to Cambridge were they shared a home with The Mansworths so they could focus completely on the band and rehearse on a daily basis.

After a 6 month search they found the final piece of the jigsaw. Matt Jones a 17 year old wonder kid hailing from Norwich . His high energy rock vocals was exactly what the guys were looking for. Matt moved to Cambridge within 1 week of joining the band and after locking themselves away to refine their sound, they emerged one year later, they were ready to showcase”.

Some stellar reviews:
“What [THE TREATMENT] also possess is a surprisingly mature approach to writing and performing songs. Which is why This Might Hurt sounds vibrant, even after several listens. They’ve been called the new Def Leppard. In truth, the album suggests THE TREATMENT are their own masters.” – Classic Rock Magazine, January 2012
“These young Brits delivered a brash, Jager-swilling, all night party of a debut that fizzed with endless energy and power.” – Kerrang!, December 2011

30 years of Motley Crue: The Saints of Pittsburgh

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

-All photos Alan Welding and property of Pittsburgh Music Magazine

The first time I saw Motley Crue I was in ninth grade and headed downtown on a bus to The Stanley Theater for The Shout At The Devil Tour. I remember running from the point I got off the bus and into the Stanley to get to my seats and hear the opening notes of Accept play “Balls to the Wall” and how much I could not wait for Motley to come onto the stage. There are also some things that I will never forget two things from that night. First, to me Nikki Sixx was the coolest dude on the planet and the reason I picked up a bass guitar. And two, after the show I saw one of the most beautiful women in my life dressed in an all spandex zebra skin-tight clothing. Motley’s bus was rolling out of town, came to a screeching halt upon seeing the girl, and she hopped right in. If there was ever a doubt in a young teenagers mind, it was no longer there, I wanted to be a rock n roll star. And I have been an abashed Cruehead ever since.
This being one of countless Crue shows that I have witnessed, you would think by this time I am jaded. But, the excitement is always there, the expectations build and builds, and the Crue did not disappoint. They came loaded for bear and with no intentions of coming off as second billing. Motley walked from the backstage out into the seats and onto the stage in a demented parade like fashion, complete with flags, girls, and smoke aplenty. The stage already contained a circus sideshow atmosphere that they are so famous for and seem to keep upping the ante each time.
As always the show started off with great fervor from the crowd and Motley came out like it was a finale. All the trappings of a great show were had including Tommy’s now famous roller coaster drum set and solo, Mick Mars’ vintage Fenders blazing underneath his fingers at top speed, Vince cavorting with the crowd and giving them every chance to sing along, and Nikki playing ringleader- throwing his bass around like a toy. A new addition to Nikki’s antics would be the fire throwing bass stock- it was by far one of the coolest effects ever. Just because I am a huge fan does not mean that I will not criticize them if they are not at the top of their game. I once travelled all the way to Vegas to see them on Crue Fest 2 and came away with a feeling that they just were not into it that night. Two weeks later they came into Pittsburgh and kicked my ass. Maybe there is something about our little Steeltown that primes bands up- but one thing is for certain- Motley Crue was flawless last night. Every band member seemed like they were having a great time, there were no sound issues to speak of, the lights and screens and dancing girls and twirling girls were amazing. Water squirting from cannons, Nikki spitting water on everyone, Tommy pouring champagne into the crowd, oh yea and then there was the music. This was rock n roll people in all its glory as it was meant to be- a spectacle. Here’s hoping Motley are around for another 30 years rocking our faces off.

Kissburgh 2012: Kiss Takes Over Pittsburgh and makes Kisstory

Kiss brought the classic horror kabuki rock n roll circus back into Pittsburgh last night with none other than Motley Crue and The Treatment with them. The gods of rock truly smiled upon the Burgh because all three band brought their “A” game and gave every ticket holder their monies worth and then some. The crowd was truly primed and ready with make up, dragon boots, vintage concert tees, and their hands horns up. The clamor for merchandise was unbelievable; the lines were ridiculously deep until the first notes of Crue. Pittsburgh loves their metal acts and like all metal cities and fans, we proved just how loyal by packing First Niagara from top to bottom. A perfect summer night (besides being very hot) set off the evening having the rain past us and the music ahead of us. The show included all the trappings you expect at a Kiss show: a grand entrance, Gene spitting blood and breathing fire, Paul and Gene flying in the air, pyrotechnics, Tommy Thayer’s blazing guitar work, and Eric Singer’s bold backbeat. The lights, the sound, the screens all brought Kiss up close and personal. There is a reason that Kiss has been around since the 70’s- they know how to play an audience and keep them coming back for more. Even though Gene’s bass solo has been seen by many of fans over a dozen times in person, it never gets old. The crazy demon eyes batting back and forth, the bass shaking your innards, the blood dripping from his throat and covering his body- it’s all part of the fun that has kept everyone enthralled by the music superheroes. Particularly enjoyable was Paul’s use of the wires to go into the middle of the audience to sing and strut his way on a platform by the sound stage. Even though many miss Ace and Chris, Tommy and Eric are great musicians in their own right and certainly have all the moves down to transport back to your heydays or to create some new ones. Personally, PMM cannot wait until the boys come back to blow us away another time. Hopefully Kiss and Motley Crue will continue their ways of the past few years by visiting every summer and taking us back to 70’s and 80’s and being part of our history.

The Treatment’s This Might Hurt Proves You Will Enjoy A Little Pain

When your head starts bobbing up and down and your arms are air drumming from the very first notes, that is always a good sign. That is how it was when PMM played The Treatment‘s opening track “The Departed” from their debut This Might Hurt. For fans of heavy rock with all the beautiful basics harkening back to when bands let the music do the talking; this band is for you. The Treatment is tight, fast, and unforgiving in their pursuit to “simply rock”.
The Treatment is a five-year old outfit out of Cambridge UK. Sighting early influences of UFO, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses Aerosmith, and Thin Lizzy they certainly stay true to their roots. The Treatment are “unashamedly inspired by an era when rock bands looked like rock bands and were generally intent on causing a stir (both onstage and off); an era when the lifestyle was important, when music was everything and vinyl was king”.
This Might Hurt was produced by Laurie Mansworth (guitarist/songwriter with UK melodic rockers Airrace) and mixed by Tony Newton at Iron Maiden guitarist Steve Harris’ Barnyard Studios, and the their fine tuned choices show with the material that has that perfect mix of raw with some polish added in for good measure. Check out highlight tunes, The Departed, Shake The Mountain, Drink, F**k, Fight, Road Rocket, and Just Tell Me Why (acoustic). This Might Hurt is a well crafted record with all the trappings of good time arena rock that has a place in all of our hearts and it showcases an extremely talented group of musicians. Fortunately for the band and audiences, apparently Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx got a good taste of what The Treatment had to offer when he saw the video for the sure to be concert anthem ‘Drink, F**k, Fight’ single. Thus The Treatment has been on the road opening for Motley Crue and Kiss keeping up with the tradition of Nikki being on the forefront of up and coming bands and bringing them out on tour.

Since 2008, when 15-‐year-‐old schoolboy drummer Dhani Mansworth (son of Laurie) decided to put a band together, inspired by the all-‐time greats of the genre (AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc.) and working under the wing of his father and manager Laurie (More, Airrace, Roadstar), the search was on to find fellow rock-‐headed, leather-‐ wrapped musicians old an’ wise beyond their years. Unable to source players of the required standard, however, this search was soon extended to more far-‐flung parts of the country, and bit by bit the line-‐up began to take shape. First to join was lead guitarist Ben Brookland, then bassist Rick Newman (aka Swoggle), then rhythm guitarist Tagore Grey… but it was the crucial position of front-‐man that proved the hardest to fill, and it was a full six months before vocalist Matt Jones was (finally) discovered in Norwich (UK).

The Treatment now formed they focused on intense practise and writing sessions, but rather than go the conventional route of booking rehearsal studios then travelling back and forth, the five decided that to get the very best out of themselves they would need to focus 100 per cent on the mighty task at hand; with school days now behind them (but only just), they opted to move into the Mansworth family home in Cambridge, where they could eat, sleep and breathe the music they loved around the clock, without distractions, without compromise.
12 months later, The Treatment – a fully-‐rounded, finely-‐honed rock‘n’roll machine with a battery of great songs at its fingertips – emerged blinking into the sunlight, guitars at the ready, sights set on the stars.
With a run of European special guest appearances now complete (playing with the likes of Black Stone Cherry, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, Steel Panther, Motorhead and more) and European festival performances being ticked off at a rapid rate (Sonisphere, High Voltage, Hard Rock Hell, Download, etc.), the band are now ready to take things to the next level, setting their sights on the American market.
Lucky for Pittsburgh on September 2 (and all the dates with Crue and Kiss) we will be able to witness them first hand as they give us the treatment it might hurt but we’re pretty sure you’ll like it.
They also have scheduled some dates for club shows on their days off:
August 20th- Hawthorne Theater- Portland, Oregon
August 21st- The A Club- Spokane, Washington (supporting Bobaflex)
August 23rd – Base Camp- Denver, Colorado
September 6th- The Rave Bar- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
September 9th- The Frequency- Madison, Wisconsin
September 17th-The Met Café- Providence, Rhode Island

Motley Crüe Gives Away Free “Sex”

20120716-180020.jpg

Motley Crüe is giving away their new single “Sex” for 24 hours. You can get it now here www. motley.com.

From http://www.noisecreep.com:
Before “Sex” hit the airwaves, bassist Nikki Sixx compared the song’s sound to something off Too Fast for Love, Mötley Crüe’s seminal 1981 debut album. Noisecreep asked Lee for his take on the track: “I think Nikki is partially right. It’s got a retro Crüe kind of vibe to it — a simplistic riff. But I also think the song has a modern sound to it. There’s some cool analog synths in it and a beat that is really funky and modern. So I guess you can say that it has a retro yet modern sound.

“Overall, I think that “Sex” sounds like 2012 and that makes me really happy. It turned out killer! Not that I’m not into some retro-sounding stuff, but it is 2012 kids — let’s keep it moving,” says the 49-year-old drummer. “At the end of the day, it’s a great summertime song that’s going to have everybody screaming along to it on this upcoming tour.”

The covers EP features THE TREATMENT’s interpretations of:

‘Evil Woman’ – ELO
‘Motor Biking’ – Chris Spedding
‘Lets Work Together’ – Canned Heat
‘Take Me Back Home’ – Slade

The covers EP was produced by Laurie Mansworth, who also produced This Might Hurt. Three days after the release of This Might Hurt, the band will commence their 43 date opening slot on the Kiss/ Motley Crue tour on July 20th in Bristow, VA.

New Crue

Motley Crue has announced that they will release their new single called Sex, on July 17th. Apparently Crue will debut the track on Sirius XM radio four days earlier (Check out Sixx Sense). The band’s co-headlining tour with KISS begins on July 20th (and hits Pittsburgh Sept 2 at First Niagara Pavilion).

The song was recorded earlier this year at Tommy Lee’s Atrium studio. At the time bassist Nikki Sixx said, “Got a nasty little song that we’re thinking would be perfect to rev up your engines for summer. We are cutting drums, bass and guitars this weekend at Tommy’s studio. This one is a panty dropper for sure… I was just thinking, I’ve been writing music for most of my life and it still feels fresh every time I pick up the pen, guitar or bass.” Seems Nikki has been trying to go back to the old style of Motley as he told VH1, “I’ve been writing very simple riffs for the last year and focusing on how these riffs would work for Vince, basically, and took it in the studio with Tommy and Mick and the thing just came alive.”

Should be a killer song and show as always and PMM will be there!

THE TREATMENT Sets U.S. Album Release Date for ‘This Might Hurt’

In anticipation of their first visit to North America as the opening act on the 43 date Kiss and Motley Crue tour, THE TREATMENT will release their debut album, This Might Hurt on July 17, 2012. The album, released by Spinefarm Records outside of North America in the fall, received critical acclaim around the world:

“What [THE TREATMENT] also possess is a surprisingly mature approach to writing and performing songs. Which is why This Might Hurt sounds vibrant, even after several listens. They’ve been called the new Def Leppard. In truth, the album suggests THE TREATMENT are their own masters.” – Classic Rock Magazine, January 2012

“These young Brits delivered a brash, Jager-swilling, all night party of a debut that fizzed with endless energy and power.” – Kerrang!, December 2011

Since the release of the album outside of North America, the band has done extensive touring in the UK and Europe—supporting Alice Cooper, Motorhead, Steel Panther, and Thin Lizzy. The band is appearing this month at UK’s Download festival, Belgium’s Grasspop Festival, Germany’s Reload Festival, and Switzerland’s Earshaker Days Festival.

The new video from This Might Hurt, ‘Nothing to Lose’, premieres today with Revolver Magazine at Revolvermag.com in the United States and can be viewed elsewhere at this location.

Slash Talks Motley Crue, RnR Hall of Fame, and Apocalyptic Love with FUSE TV

The Pulse Of Radio recently asked Slash how releasing “Apocalyptic Love” on his own label (Dik Hayd Records) compares to working with major labels: “It’s really enabling me to make records and be able to put them out myself so I don’t have to do the gamble with the big record companies,” he said. “Now as far as like the glory days of the record business, that’s something — yeah, I mean, you can miss it, but it’s changed so much and most of the companies have turned into such conglomerates, it’s pointless to really sort of miss the old days ’cause they’re long gone.”

Merchandising Madness: What’s Cool and What’s Tool

Recently, an article from Metal Insider regarding strange merchandise from legendary band Slayer, piqued interest.  Some of the choices were depicted as bizarre and others possibly just intriguing.  It begs the question, “When is the band just pocketing money and when is it actually providing for the fans?”.  Much of this would depend on the individual, thus making for an opinionated debate.

The ultimate gods of merchandising of course are KISS.  It is well known that Simmons and Stanley typically put their names on anything, from coffins to potato heads.  One of our favorites, actually here in the office, just happens to be the Gruntz Dressed to Kill KISS collectibles (shown below).  Still, what makes these collectible over a potato head, or the ultimate collectible, a coffin?

KISS Gruntz Dressed to Kill figures in the PMM office

A plethora of wines have been produced lately with mainly classic rock groups as the benefactor.  The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, even AC/DC have signed on to wine their wares.  Vince Neil is no stranger to lending his name to liquor, having a tequila brand and wine label.  Of course, Sammy Hagar made a small mint when selling off his Cabo Wabo Tequila and Maynard from Tool has a very legit wine orchard in Arizona (enough to have a whole documentary about it).

Other oddities include: Durex  marketing their condoms using bands from JLS to Slayer. Rammstein apparently has their own lines of sex toys.  Having seen them in concert numerous times, this actually makes a lot of sense.  Bill Wyman of the Stones endorses a metal detector.  Mastadon have a “horn” to drink from and Motorhead has a beach ball (We must confess this is in the office also- when we think Lemmy we think beach!).

Perfumes, pasta sauces, sodas, energy drinks, if the money is there the bands will come.  The line of action figure type replicas are very collectible and can increase in value rather quickly.  Motley Crue, Lemmy, Slash, Iggy Pop, Ozzy, Hendrix, Morrison, and Metallica are just a few who have been immortalized in plastic.  The bobblehead industry is booming too.  Just “head” on over to Amazon or any number of websites to check out the various bands that are represented.

Jerry Only-Misfits bobblehead in the PMM office

The bottom line is that consumers want these products.  If they did not no one would be putting the money into manufacturing the trinkets and toys and who knows what.  Let the consumer beware and judge.  If someone loves KISS so much they want to be buried in a KISS coffin, so be it.  As rock n’ roll collectors ourselves, the variety beyond the usual tees and posters is exciting and also an opportunity to laugh.  With the market for song distribution so confusing these days let the bands make the money where and when they can.  And let us put the debate to bed.  Hey, where are my Misfits slippers anyhow?
