KRANTZ Release Animated Music Video for Uplifting New Single, “Try Living Every Day”

Try Living Everyday Cover

Nashville, TN based Indie singer-songwriter KRANTZ has released the official music video for their inspiring new single, “Try Living Every Day.” Originally premiered on mxdwn, “Try Living Every Day” tells a poignant story of positivity and encouragement.

“I wrote this about a buddy at first, but ended up feeling like I was singing about myself,” said Krantz. “I’ve missed a lot of fun trips, big events, or even just get togethers with friends because I was afraid to take the day off from working. I just thought I had to make money and that was the most important thing, but came to realize I was missing what would have been great times in my life just to have more in my bank account. I’m not saying don’t work a job or anything like that, just don’t become a slave to it and make sure ya live everyday to the fullest. Pep talk over…” – KRANTZ

“The song opens with a dramatic hip-hop style beat and a simple piano figure, though as the synths enter it takes a bit of a swing into more left-field, psychedelic sounds not unlike The Flaming Lips. The song is told in a narrative style, describing “He came into the world / With vision quite obscured / His childhood was kind.”

The animated video follows the events of the song, featuring a pregnant woman, a newborn baby and a preschool age child watching television. Eventually he grows into a man who’s first priority is money and stability, something that’s hammered into us from a young age but in an age of increasing wealth disparity, becomes a life and soul-sucking mission for everyone but the richest of the rich.” – MATT MATASCI – mxdwn

2020 Krantz 2061

After leaving his home state of Iowa, traveling the world, touring over 200 days per year with a band called The Effects* and opening for acts such as the Kings of LeonShinedownForeigner, and the Toadies, Jeffrey Krantz made the decision to “live the dream” and eventually landed in Nashville. There, he recorded his first self-produced solo album titled “KRANTZ” in between tapings of MTV’s music competition, American Supergroup, where he eventually became a finalist in the competition. While working nonstop at the Honky Tonks of Music City to reach his musical dream, Jeffrey Krantz kept writing, touring, and released “The Pennock Tapes” (2017) and his second album, “Misty Morning Dew.” The band “Krantz” brings a psychedelic/pop/rock edge equipped with an in-your-face attitude, intertwining meaningful lyrics, and authentic, no-holds rock and roll. As an alternative rock band in a land of country music, Krantz embraces a refreshing take on golden age rock acts, combining classic musical elements of The Beatles and T. Rex with more modern sounds of bands like Weezer and Green Day, creating whimsical and catchy melodies that are certain make your feet dance and heart throb.

“When most people hear this song, they picture a girl who can’t get over a lost love or ex-lover. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. This song was written about a rage that burns deep within that you just can’t let go of, knowing full well that it will destroy you from the inside, but it’s so worth it.” JASMINE CAIN

Singin ‘N’ Slingin is the best body of work we’ve written so far. From start to finish, its rockin and groovin. We wanted to pay homage to our rock n roll roots and we did just that! Our leading track, ‘Money,’ is about what we all love and hate…..Money! We wanted to write about Money lyrically within the verses from both sides, having a lot and not having enough. In the end, Money makes this funny world go round. As a band we are wild, funny and always having a good time. This EP captures who we are. There are great rockin tunes like “The Hunter” and “Im Back” which are then rounded out with ” We Don’t Know This” and “Drunk” which each have a story of their own.
We are very excited for this release and be sure to crank it up while you’re listening! Now lets get wild!” – Wild Planes

MONEY Announces Debut Album ‘The Shadow Of Heaven’ Out August 26th On Bella Union

MONEY-byJulienBourgeois08copy1.141921

About to embark on their first UK tour, the London date of which sold out within a few days, MONEY will be releasing their debut albumThe Shadow of Heaven on 26th August via Bella Union Records. Recorded in London through the deep, dark winter of 2012/13, it’s an ethereal, transcendent record that’s notable for its musical and intellectual ambition. Though ambition is perhaps not quite the right word. Because MONEY would never talk about ambition. Such things don’t sit well with them. They’d talk about anti-ambition and the revision of existing values — the kind of bold gesture already signalled by their unabashedly iconic name. It’s an album that defies convention and cliché, asking us instead to be courageous enough to see the world in different ways. As lead singer and ideologue Jamie Lee says, ‘Our aim with this band — in all things we do — is to create the world afresh on our own terms.’

MONEY are Jamie Lee, Charlie Cocksedge, Billy Byron and Scott Beaman. Having formed in Manchester amidst a prolific underground milieu, they soon came to embody the passion, creativity and optimism of a new generation of artists and musicians who found themselves presented with what Jamie describes as ‘an extraordinary, poetic city’. MONEY played shows in esoteric venues such as Salford’s Sacred Trinity Church and ‘the Bunker’, a former factory near Strangeways Prison and home to the cult independent label SWAYS, who released the band’s debut 7” single, ‘Who’s Going to Love You Now’ / ‘Goodnight London’ to wide acclaim. Having been tracked down by Simon Raymonde, the band subsequently signed to Bella Union, headlining the label’s Christmas party at the Union Chapel before taking to the studio to record ‘The Shadow of Heaven’.

The album consists of ten songs that range from stripped-back piano ballads such as ‘Goodnight London’ and ‘Black’ to the more epic ‘Hold Me Forever’ and ‘Bluebell Fields’. Rooted in universal themes of the spirit, love and loss, the album also addresses man’s condition in the modern world, issues ‘such as isolation and mental health as logical reactions to it’, says Jamie. It’s an album full of yearning and soul-searching, a voyage of (non-) discovery that only ends up finding itself and the sheer, aching beauty of questions asked in full knowledge of their own answerlessness. It’s metaphysics for the modern age, which might not be quite as spiritually bankrupt and bereft of meaning as we once believed.

MONEY Releases “Bluebell Fields” Video

ScreenShot2013-05-10at11.35.49AM.114301

Having signed to Bella Union after two limited edition 7″ singles last year, Manchester-based quartet MONEY are currently putting the finishing touches to their much-anticipated debut album, due for release late summer. In the meantime, Bella Union are thrilled to reveal the mesmerizing video to Bluebell Fields, the majestic first single from the album. The video represents a loving collaboration between the band and young animator Dan W. Jacobs.

MONEY is comprised of Jamie Lee, Charlie Cocksedge, Billy Byron and Scott Beaman. They formed in Manchester and embody the passion, creativity and optimism of a new generation of artists and musicians from there. “It’s an extraordinary, poetic city,” frontman Jamie says, “You feel like you can do anything here”.

Selling out shows before they’d even released a single, MONEY have drawn devoted fans to strange, beautiful and passionate gigs around the city over the last year or so, with much mythologised shows in the Sacred Trinity Church and a crumbling building known as the Bunker: an abandoned factory in the shadows of Strangeways. Here they created their own sense of beauty in the void, stating “celebration is at the heart of doom”

After hearing ‘So Long (God Is Dead)’, Simon Raymonde decided he had to track them down: “They’re interesting people with a lot to say, and the live shows fascinated me. They were so extravagant and thoughtful, so rare in a new band.” Finding himself in the Bunker, Simon fell under the spell of a band led by a fallen angel with a Macbeth haircut and a mischievous glint in his eye. A band on a quest to discover new values, new ways of being, for these spiritually impoverished times. As Jamie says, “Our aim with this band – in all things we do – is to create the world afresh on our own terms.”
