Year after year, the Pitchfork Music Festival presents new, cutting edge artists and this year continues that tradition. The 2013 Pitchfork Music Festival, happening Friday, July 19-Sunday, July 21 at Chicago’s Union Park, rounds out its lineup with an extremely diverse group of emerging artists and established legends. Added to Friday’s lineup are Wire, Mikal Cronin, Woods, Pissed Jeans, Daughn Gibson, and Frankie Rose. Saturday sees more performances by Andy Stott, Solange, Merchandise, Ryan Hemsworth, Metz, Low, Savages, Parquet Courts, Julia Holter, Ken Mode, and White Lung. And Sunday now includes Glass Candy, M.I.A., Evian Christ, Yo La Tengo, Autre Ne Veut, Waxahatchee, Blood Orange, and DJ Rashad. It’s the summer’s most adventurous festival.

 

Three-day passes are currently on sale for $120 and single day tickets are available for $50 each. Three-day passes always sell out very quickly. As previously mentioned, for the full price three-day pass, the festival is offering a special layaway program that allows fans to purchase the pass in three installments.

Joanna Newsom, Angel Olsen, and Trash Talk. Saturday will see performances by The Breeders playing Last Splash, Rustie, Swans, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, and Mac DeMarco, in addition to previously announced headliner Belle & Sebastian. And joining R. Kelly on Sunday will be Chairlift, TNGHT, Sky Ferreira, Killer Mike, El-P, Foxygen and TreeThere are still over two dozen more artists to announce in the coming weeks.

Savannah is nicknamed “The Hostess City” for good reason. Bands are treated to the best in Southern food, drink, merriment and hospitality and given the opportunity to stay in local Savannah homes. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast is not out of the question! Festivalgoers get to immerse themselves in the shamelessly social mayhem of the South’s most beautiful, vibrant and creative small city.

Savannah Stopover Special Events

Opening Night: Savannah is home to SCAD- the Savannah College of Art and Design- one of the nation’s most prestigious art schools. SCAD students, along with countless other area students and artists, create band posters for each Stopover band. The artwork will be showcased at an opening night art party and concert featuring The Last Bison on March 7th.

of Montreal Concert In The Park: Savannah Stopover, in Partnership with Visit Savannah, is hosting a free concert in the city’s historic Forsyth Park, featuring Athens, GA legends of Montreal on Friday night, March 8th.

Soul Clap and Dance Off: The festival goes retro on Saturday night March 9th with Jonathan Toubin’s legendary New York Night Train Soul Clap & Dance Off, spinning rare 60’s soul on 45-RPM vinyl.

Savannah Stopover Fun
Savannah’s open container laws make it one of only a few places in the U.S. where merriment takes to the streets. This year’s festival will include the now infamous late night DJ after parties in the Artist Lounge, afternoon stages with beer, bar-b-cue and sliders and many more special events to be announced. In Savannah, you’re never more than a short walk or Pedicab ride away from your next musical adventure.
