The sibling acoustic duo from Southern Oregon, The Brothers Reed, are on a two-month national tour promoting their brand new album “Three” set to release on Jan.6th. They are performing at Black Forge Coffee House in Pittsburgh on February 15th.
“Their melodies make their music exceptional” – Natalie Johnson (music editor for Sneak Preview)
“…intoxicating sound a light in the darkness of the song craft” – Josh Gross (album review in Rogue Valley Messenger)
Despite their brotherhood, Aaron and Phil Reed didn’t start playing music together until two years ago after Phil left their hometown of St. Charles, Missouri to join Aaron in the unsullied mountains of the American Northwest. The brothers family blend of folk encapsulates the grit and humor of Midwest life with the swagger and serenity of the west coast. Their style evokes finger picking folk singers of the 60’s and 70’s with a contemporary and boundless edge. Cultivated from years of performing in bands ranging from heavy metal to reggae and rock, to punk, country, and funk, their musical dichotomy is at the root of their diverse yet seamless folk-brand.
With their comedic brotherly banter, impeccable harmonic expression, and widely varying influences, a Brothers Reed performance will have you reflecting on lost lives and lovers, laughing hysterically and leaving completely entertained.
Touring as a guitar-duo, the group incorporates harmonica, percussion and keys into their live performances, soothing your soul with songs that are familiar yet original. Whether they are finger picking their way through a lamentable ballad or bringing you around full-speed with a barn-burning bluegrass number, The Brothers Reed are masters of their craft.
Winners of 2014’s “Road to Nashville,” competition as well as finalists and crowd favorites of Britt Festivals 2015 “Rising Stars Contest,” the Brothers Reed have quickly risen to regional renown and now tour extensively throughout the U.S. Their sophomore full length, Monster In My Head (released March 2016), is a power-punch follow up to 2015’s critically acclaimed debut, Sick As Folk. Moving away from the stripped down approach of Sick As Folk, Monster In My Head combines full band instrumentation with the finest elements of folk, rock, R&B, country and reggae, to create a record that at 17 tracks is an ambitious yet fluid piece of work. The album also marks the group’s first effort at collaboration and features several guest artists including Jeff Pevar (Crosby, Stills and Nash; Ray Charles; Jazz is Dead), T.J. Eilers (Synrgy, Buckle Rash, The Illies) and Ambur Rose (Roses and Whiskey).
All aspects of the brand including management, website design, graphics, and album production (engineering, recording and mixing) is done completely by The Brothers.
Is it possible to be nostalgic for the future? Brooklyn synthpop duo Great Good Fine OK met one evening in 2013 and by the next morning had written their first song together, “You’re the One for Me,” a gauzy, heart-thumping anthem that hit #1 on Hype Machine twice in one month and instantly established the group’s sound with Jon Sandler’s dancefloor falsetto soaring over Luke Moellman’s lush post-Space Age production, the perfect soundtrack for retrofuturism.
An EP, Body Diamond, soon followed, as did a slate of shows at that year’s SXSW festival and a deal with Neon Gold and Epic Records. In 2014 GGFO’s second EP, 2M2H, reached #10 on the iTunes dance chart and featured the St. Lucia collaboration “Something to Believe In,” which premiered on Entertainment Weekly. In keeping with this collaborative spirit, GGFO co-wrote and performed on The Chainsmoker’s single “Let You Go,” recorded a cover of Phil Collins’s “Easy Lover” with fellow Brooklynite Panama Wedding, and produced the song “Shapeshifting” with Irish folk-pop singer Orla Gartland, whom Jon and Luke met after their headlining show at Notting Hill Arts Club in London. They have also remixed songs by St Lucia, Foxes, Twenty One Pilots, Luxley, Little Daylight, and many others.
In the past three years, GGFO have performed shows supporting acts ranging from Tove Lo to X Ambassadors to Penguin Prison and have embarked on four major US tours with Betty Who, Joywave, Magic Man, Vacationer, and Panama Wedding, with four songs reaching #1 on Hype Machine and their single “Take It or Leave It” surpassing ten million plays on Spotify. As anyone who attended the group’s recent sold-out Northeast headlining tour can attest, GGFO has amassed a large contingent of loyal fans who have come to expect over-the-top live performances involving silk kimonos, triggered lights, and histrionic keytar solos, with Jon and Luke backed by drummer Danny Wolf and guitarist Carey Clayton. 2016 has already seen the release of three singles and an EP of GGFO songs remixed by like-minded artists, with more new works ever looming on the horizon. Music blog Indie Shuffle says, “I dare you to find another group in the past two years who has been so prolific and consistent with their releases while at the same time delivering some of the most heavenly signature falsetto vocals known to man.”

Luke Moellman // keyboards, keytar, MalletKat
Carey Clayton // guitar
Danny Wolf // drums
Aisha showcases her creative and unique British spin on American style RnB. The self-admitted perfectionist believes that the UK scene is dominated by urban rap and grime and lacks more soulful RnB sounds, which is what has prompt her to create ‘Fake’.
‘Fake’ follows the story of Aisha’s ex-boyfriend, a compulsive liar, who cheated of her compatible times. She perfectly depicts the relationships storyline and expresses her emotional anger with confidence and elegance.
Aisha grew up listening to American RnB and soul artists such as Lauryn Hill, Faith Evans and Alicia Keys, which shines through her single in regards to her vocal projection and control.
‘Fake’ is out now!

Originating in Mason, West Virginia, Bobaflex released their 6th full length studio album Anything That Moves on July 17th, 2015. It was their 7th overall as an EP was released in 2010. The band has been on a nonstop tour through 2016 to support the effort. The band has been on the road for the better part of the year. This last tour will run November 18th – December 22nd and will be time to hit the studio for their next album.
Anything That Moves has received radio airplay for the first two singles Mama (Don’t Take My Drugs Away) and A Spider In The Dark.
The idea of Bobaflex formed back in 1998 between brothers, Shaun and Marty McCoy. At the time, Shaun was attending Marshall University. The band built up a local following and by March 2003 everything came together and the band was signed by Eclipse Records to release their first full length album Primitive Epic. They band went on to TvT Records where they released two albums in Apologize for Nothing (2005) and Tales From Dirt Town (2007). The label went bankrupt in 2009.
The band decided to go the independent route and started their own label, BFX Records in 2010 in order to control their own destiny. They released an EP in 2010 called Chemical Valley which started to put them on the map with their song Bury Me With My Guns On and Chemical Valley. With the exception of a re-recorded version of 2007’s HOME, all the songs on the EP would become part of their next full release in 2011 Hell In My Heart which featured 16 songs and their top selling single to date Bury Me With My Guns On and their very popular cover of The Sound Of Silence (Simon-Garfunkel). The album received physical distribution through Megaforce.
Hell In My Heart was followed in 2013 with Charlatan’s Web which included three radio singles BAD MAN, I’M GLAD YOU’RE DEAD And NEVER COMING BACK.
Marty McCoy – guitar / vocals
Shaun McCoy – guitar / vocals

“INSIDE OF ME” FEAT. CHRIS MOTIONLESS FROM MOTIONLESS IN WHITE
“RISE OR DIE,” CO-WRITTEN BY VAMPS AND RICHARD Z.
KRUSPE OF EMIGRATE / RAMMSTEIN
(Preview the new music HERE)
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 19, 2016) – VAMPS, the visually arresting Japanese rock band featuring HYDE (L’Arc-en-Ciel) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust), are back! There is a swell of activity surrounding the band, including new songs with major guests, a Fall 2016 headline tour across North America and working on their next full-length album.
VAMPS just dropped not one but two songs with blockbuster features: “Inside of Me” features Chris Motionless from Motionless in White, while “Rise or Die” was co-written with Emigrate and Rammstein guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe.
The songs are available via Spinefarm Records now. Get them on iTunes and Apple Music HERE or stream them on Spotify HERE. For a preview of the new tracks, go HERE and check out the official music video for “Inside of Me.”
HYDE spoke about the new material, which was written and recorded earlier this year in Los Angeles with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down). “The recording session with Howard Benson and his team was very creative,” Hyde said. “I truly enjoyed writing and recording these new songs. ‘Inside of Me’ contains themes of the forbidden and abstinence. ‘Rise or Die’ is a very catchy rock song that gets the audience pumped up when we play it live. I hope everyone likes these new songs.”
VAMPS will also crash U.S. soil for November headline dates and bring along special guest CITIZEN ZERO whose current single “Go (Let Me Save You)” is available through Wind-up Records and has already climbed up to #23 on the rock radio charts. Find out more about Citizen Zero here.
It’s a welcome return to America for VAMPS and the first time they will tour the U.S. since their special guest stint with SIXX:A.M. in Spring 2015. The tour kicks off November 7 in Los Angeles and will hit select major markets across the U.S., Canada and Mexico throughout November. Tickets go on sale at 1pm EST today – see a full list of dates and ticket links below.
“VAMPS are coming back to the States,” enthused K.A.Z. “We will return to some of the cities we performed at with SIXX:A.M. and APOCALYPTICAlast year. We will be playing some new songs and this will be a great tour. We are very much looking forward to seeing all the rock fans out there!”
VAMPS just concluded several sold-out shows in their hometown of Tokyo, Japan with support from U.S. rock heavyweights IN THIS MOMENT and Finland’s finest, APOCALYPTICA, the latter of which previously collaborated with VAMPS on the 2015 single “Sin In Justice.”
The rest of 2016 will see VAMPS working on the follow up album to 2015’s Bloodsuckers and the band expects to return to the U.S. for more shows next spring.

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 25, 2016 – Faith No More, who released We Care A Lot (Deluxe Band Edition) on Friday, share video of the band’s full 1986 I-Beam performance: https://youtu.be/7_7kwmBmoW8.
Audio from two of the songs performed that January 13 evening, “The Jungle” and “New Beginnings,” are included on the reissue. The original 10-song album, which has been re-mastered by Maor Appelbaum via the original reels Bill Gould unearthed in his basement, is enhanced with nine bonus tracks including demo versions (taken from the original 8-track tapes) of “Greed,” “Mark Bowen,” “Arabian Disco” and “Intro,” live versions of “The Jungle” and “New Beginnings” and new mixes, via Matt Wallace, of “We Care A Lot,” “Pills for Breakfast” and “As The Worm Turns.” Liner notes from keyboard player Roddy Bottum and behind-the-scenes photos will be included with the physical release. We Care A Lot (Deluxe Band Edition) is available now on CD/vinyl (http://faithnomore.kungfustore.com), and digital (http://geni.us/WeCareALotDigital).
It’s been a busy week for the San Francisco-based band, with Gould, Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum and Jon Hudson surprising fans at Chuck Mosley’s San Francisco and Los Angeles shows for a set featuring music from the seminal album. Photos can be seen here, courtesy of L.A. Record:http://larecord.com/photos/2016/08/22/chuck-mosley-and-friends-the-troubadour.
Original flyer from the 1986 I-Beam show
|We Care A Lot originally arrived in November 1985 via Maximum RocknRoll editor Ruth Schwartz’s Mordam Records. The seminal album, boasting the timeless title track, which can still be heard daily on radio stations worldwide, confounded music fans and critics alike. As Pitchfork said in a 2015 article dubbed “The Misunderstanding of Faith No More,” the unpredictable and hard-to-define band “had radically altered the parameters of popular music years before the fabled alternative revolution.” Rolling Stone called it a “raw punk album” while Select Magazine dubbed it “a lustful marriage of mutoid metal and dance floor verve.”
“When strangers ask what Faith No More is I’ve always said, ‘well, it’s kind of an art band…’ I say that mostly to distance us from the hard rock world that we’re often times lumped into. I mean, hard rock, sure, that was part of it, but our roots most definitely and pointedly stem from a specific freakout art time and place in San Francisco, a time that no longer exists. In 1982, the hippies mingled with the punks, the artists hung out with the musicians, the dance people and the punks were one and the Satanists and the sexual pioneers… all part of the same scene,” Bottum explains, colorfully setting the scene for the original inspiration for the band and We Care A Lot. “That weird SF window provided a platform from which we were free to express and cultivate a really uniquely odd sound experience. In Los Angeles, no one really cared much, but SF was always super supportive, encouraging us, directly and not, to get our collective freak on.”
“We felt like it was time to take the next step,” adds drummer Mike Bordin. “We raised as much money as we were able and booked time at Prairie Sun Studios just north of San Francisco. I can’t remember how long it took us to record the album, but not a lot, maybe a few days. The songs were sharp from having played most of them at various shows. Very stripped down, basic as could be. The place was on a farm in chicken country (Petaluma). Hard work, but a ton of fun too.”

Art Brut are a part German part English band. The genre they work in is very honest, guitar based pop music. They have been around for 10 years, toured the world numerous times and released four albums ( the last two produced by the legendary front man of the Pixies, Black Francis).
This App is a recommended companion to their recent Best Of album, Art Brut Top Of The Pops.
Old hippies and idiots who only collect vinyl often complain that album artwork has suffered in recent times due to it not being as readily available on huge 12 inch pieces of cardboard. Art Brut disagree, we have embraced the future, 12 inch pieces of cardboard are for squares. Our App – or super futurisitc album artwork if you will – contains previews of the songs from Top of the Pops and includes the exclusive comics that were produced for each of the album’s tracks. Unlike a big piece of cardboard you can carry this around in your pocket. Well… in your phone or iPod in your pocket. And On your iPad, which won’t fit in your pocket.
Phone apps are the new 12 inch pieces of cardboard! Hooray.
Enjoy.Love Art But X
Hailing from Brooklyn via south of the Mason-Dixon, THE LONE BELLOW has signed to Descendant Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Their self-titled album will be released at iTunes and independent retailers on January 15th with a wide release on January 22nd. Additionally, “Bleeding Out” will be iTunes “Single of the Week” this week. The Lone Bellow has received some impressive early attention – most notably a January 22nd appearance on Conan, NPR’s “First Listen;” and heavy rotation on renowned taste-maker station WFUV. Billboard calls the band “one of The Next Big Things for 2013,” with NPR’s Bob Boilen saying, “The world of acoustic music is about to get a new household name. The music of The Lone Bellow is born from tragedy and told with heart and simplicity.”
Featuring lead singer and principal songwriter Zach Williams; singer and mandolin player Kanene Pipkin, and guitarist Brian Elmquist, The Lone Bellow have made a name for themselves with their acclaimed live shows in New York and across the country during their stint opening for The Civil Wars. At the heartof it, Zach Williams is an intentional songwriter focused on growing a community, rather than merely finding a following. The Lone Bellow isn’t just a group of musicians; they are an “urban tribe,” a family away from family.
Georgia-born Williams began songwriting in 2005, during a prolonged stay at Atlanta’s Shepherd Center after his wife was thrown from a horse and paralyzed from the neck down. With a dire diagnosis of quadriplegia, there was nothing to do but sit vigil with his group of friends – also artists. While they waited for healing, Zach picked up a guitar and taught himself to play. His wife eventually recovered (her spinal cord, initially thought broken, was terribly bruised) and the couple and their group of friends moved to Brooklyn shortly thereafter.
Williams and the band’s music evolved to reflect his Southern roots, incorporating elements of rock, gospel, country and blues that result in a unique and soul-searing blend of can’t-get-them-out-of-your-head lyrics that spring from a deep emotional reservoir. The upcoming record is a complete work, a “collection of stories embodying tragedy, hope, betrayal and redemption.” The first track “Your Never Need Nobody” is out now. Tour dates below with more to be announced soon:
Jan 21 – Los Angeles, CA at Hotel Café
Jan 24 – Montclair, NJ at Wellmont Theater w/Dwight Yoakam
Jan 25 – Mashantucket, CT at Foxwoods Resort & Casino at MGM Grand w/Dwight Yoakam
Jan 28 – New York, NY in-store performance at Barnes & Noble in Union Square
Feb 5 – New York, NY at Bowery Ballroom (Album Release Show)
“Passionate and self-assured, this trio’s debut treads a middle ground between Mumford bombast and neo-folkie navel gazing. They call it ‘Brooklyn country music,’ a rootsy brew flavored with close harmonies and light on hipster pretension.” – Jerry Shriver, USA Today
“songs of survival and redemption, written out of necessity rather than opportunity.” – Stephen Thompson, NPR
“Riding a strong reputation for heartfelt creations and an electric live show, Brooklyn’s The Lone Bellow is set to make its mark on the music industry.” – Paste
“…you needn’t look further than the country-fried soul of The Lone Bellow…the Brooklyn-based trio plugs into an old tradition of Folk Americana, and brings it to life in a way that should help keep you warm this winter.” – Deli Magazine
“[The Civil Wars] had some competition in the harmony realm from The Lone Bellow, a Brooklyn-based trio cut from the same rootsy fabric.” – Orlando Sentinel
After the release of their highly-anticipated debut Babylon earlier this year, MATT SKIBA AND THE SEKRETS will release a digital EP titled Haven’t You? on December 4, 2012 via Superball Music.
The EP will be available for purchase through all major digital outlets, and features two previously unreleased, stripped down tracks. An acoustic version of “Haven’t You?” and an acoustic version of “Voices” are included on the EP, as well as the original version of “Haven’t You?,” taken from their debut album, Babylon. The iTunes release will also include a download of the “Voices” music video, which can be seen here.
MATT SKIBA AND THE SEKRETS has teamed up with ArtistDirect.com to premiere the acoustic rendition of “Haven’t You?” that will be featured on the EP. The track can be heard here: http://www.artistdirect.com/entertainment-news/article/exclusive-song-premiere-matt-skiba-and-the-sekrets-haven-t-you-acoustic/10297756
Alternative Press Magazine has described MATT SKIBA AND THE SEKRETS’ music as a combination of “Skiba’s trademark dark-tinged punk sensibilities with an electronic edge inspired by ’80s new wave,” while The Insider claims, “Skiba delves into familiar places, but makes it new and fresh. It will surely please new fans as well as die-hard Alkaline Trio fanatics.”
One of the last holdouts of the old timers, AC/DC finally ended their hold out from distributing music through iTunes as of this morning. iTunes is now offering the “Complete Set” of AC/DC for $149.99, as well as the “Studio Collection” for $99.99, ringtones, the group’s new live album ‘Live At River Plate’, and of course individual albums.
Another holdout, Kid Rock, has also announced sales on iTunes of his new effort.
About time that these guys just give the fans what they wanted all along.

Fresh on the heels of the release of their critically acclaimed fifth album Book Burner, The undisputed kings of grind PIG DESTROYER have re-signed with their long time record label home Relapse Records.
The band commented on the re-signing with Relapse:
“Super excited to be a part of the extraordinary Relapse Records again! A song comes to mind in the melody of the “Team America” jingle. “Relapse, FUCK YEAH! Once again, signing a muthafuckin contract!”
– Adam Jarvis
“Relapse has been a great home for both ANb and PIG DESTROYER since the very early days. We’re not an easy band to deal with but Relapse has been patient, enthusiastic, and accommodating to our headache-inducing schedules, our strict adherence to not touring or behaving like a normal band, and just generally being pains-in-the-asses. We wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
– Scott Hull
“I don’t always sign contracts with record labels, but when I do, I choose Relapse.”
Book Burner which was released October 22nd features 19 tracks with a return to the band’s raw, misanthropic sound. Book Burner is available on multiple formats including CD, Deluxe 2xCD, LP, Deluxe 2xLP, Cassette and Digital. All of the editions are available for order via Relapse Records and iTunes.
The deluxe editions each contain a bonus disc of punk covers and a short story, titled The Atheist, penned by frontman JR Hayes. The Atheist is a post-apocalyptic tale about a decaying world taken over by the violence of religion that showcases the renowned lyricists’ unsurpassed style for the first time as prose. The deluxe 2xLP also contains an etched b-side featuring artwork by Wormrot frontman Arif Rot.
In support of Book Burner, PIG DESTROYER will be making special appearances at various festivals including Decibel Magazine’s 100th Issue Anniversary Show and Maryland Deathfest 2013.
PIG DESTROYER TOUR DATES:
Jan 19 Philadelphia, PA Union Transfer w/ Municipal Waste, Repulsion, Tombs Tickets
May 23 – 26 Baltimore, MD Maryland Deathfest XI
