ORGY Is Back and Calling Upon the Fans For Support

ORGY has officially launched their Indiegogo campaign just over 24 hours ago to help raise funds and awareness that ORGY is back and bigger than ever! With a goal set of raising $100,000 in 60 days we need ORGY fans to come together like never before and help “crowdfund” the band back to stardom. Money raised will be spent on recording, production, distribution, music videos, touring and even starting a new record label to bring new music to the rest of the world. This is a huge opportunity and an extreme undertaking, which is why ORGY is calling upon their fans for help and support. “Without the fans, we are nothing… This is why we need our fans to become something” – Jay Gordon

Why We Need You – The music industry today is very different from what the music industry was, what used to be a thriving industry of large labels has now dwindled down to just a few and has made it extremely difficult to be successful. As much of a disappointment this is, it has also opened a door for us to start a brand new label, and with your help, we can achieve ground breaking results with not justORGY, but giving other bands an opportunity and chance in the industry with us. Without a major label backing and funding us it makes it very difficult and expensive to record, produce and distribute our music to the fans. Once we do that we need to hit the road and tour, not just nationally, but internationally as well (can you believe we have never toured Europe or Japan?). Essentially we want you guys, the fans, to help get the new band and label off the ground, that way we can maintain creative freedom and do what WE want to do and not what another label tells us to do.

We have been funding ORGY from our own pockets and have reached a point where we have taken it as far as we possibly can by ourselves, and the wells run dry. This is where we need your help, without proper backing we are unable to bring our music to the fans, so we are asking everyone to come together and back us, be our supporters, and enable us to bring our music and other artists to you and the rest of the world.

The Impact – The impact from what could come from this is enormous. With your support and backing we can launch ORGY into a national and international name once again. We have more dedication and drive to make this a success than ever before, not only with the music but with the label as well. This will give new bands the opportunity to be heard and succeed as well as ORGY. We just simply can’t continue out of our pockets anymore and going after a major label just isn’t the right path for us. We ask that you be a part of something new, something big, help revive ORGY and help bring new music to the world.

Other Ways to Help – We understand that not everyone is able or willing to support us financially, but there are many ways that you can help us and support us. Spread the word! Just as important as money is letting people know that we’re back, you can share our facebook page, tell your friends, blast social media sites and anything else you can think of to get the name of ORGY back out there! You are all amazing and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for checking out our campaign, supporting us and getting our name back out there! Get ready for the new ORGY!

History of ORGY – Originally formed in 1997, ORGY was signed to Korn’s label Elementree Records and released their debut album Candyass in 1998. Featuring their two hit singles, a cover of the New Order song “Blue Monday” and “Stitches” along with the song “Revival” featuring Jonathan Davis of KORN, the album went on to sell almost two million copies. ORGY appeared on the Family Values Tour with Korn, Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube, Incubus and Rammstein and were featured on the live compilation album from the tour released in 1999. Their second album, the science fiction-themed Vapor Transmission, was released in 2000 featuring the singles “Fiction (Dreams in Digital)” and “Opticon” and the band later released the song “Faces” for the soundtrack to the movie Zoolander.

As the demand from fans for new music and a tour continued to grow over the past few years, founding member Jay Gordon (vocals) hand-selected guitarist Carlton Bost (former of Deadsy), guitarist Ashburn Miller (also from Deadsy), bassist Nic Speck (from Run-Run-Run and George Lynch) and drummer Bobby Amaro (from Nude) to come together and carry on the ORGY name. The guys, who’ve all known each other from their previous projects, have mutual respect both professionally and creatively for one another and are excited to be working together to bring ORGY back to the top.

Banger Films Launches Final “Extreme Metal” Crowndfunding Push

Award-Winning Metal Filmmakers Join Forces with Underground Metal Community to Complete “Extreme Metal”

After an enormously successful IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign raising nearly $40,000, Grammy-nominated and Juno-winning Banger Films is embarking on a final push to create the “Lost Episode” of the series Metal Evolution: Extreme Metal. The episode will take viewers on an unprecedented journey across Europe and North America to tell the story of metal’s most aggressive and misunderstood sub-genre.

“Our first IndieGoGo campaign was a huge success and we were blown-away by the support of the metal community,” says Banger Films co-founder Sam Dunn. “The research, writing, travel and filming is now complete and we’ve captured some amazing interviews and footage. But we need to turn this footage into an episode!” The new campaign kicked off Friday, August 9th. Details of the campaign, including a brand-new trailer featuring exclusive footage from Banger’s Extreme Metal filming trip, can be found here: igg.me/at/LostEpisode

Originally broadcast on VH1 Classic (USA) and Much More Music (Canada), Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn’s series Metal Evolution presented 11 episodes based on the “Heavy Metal Family Tree” originally shown in their groundbreaking documentary, Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey. Host and metalhead-turned-anthropologist Sam Dunn crisscrossed the globe exploring the vast history of Heavy Metal across its 40+ year history, covering everything from the Pre-History of Metal and Shock Rock to Grunge and Thrash Metal. But one very important episode was left out: Extreme Metal. “Some of the networks felt that Extreme Metal was too heavy or too niche. We’re out to prove that Extreme Metal is metal’s most vital sub-genre and that metal would probably die without it!,” says Dunn.

Tom Gabriel Warrior, legendary frontman for extreme metal bands Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, and Triptykon, was interviewed by Dunn for the episode: “It was an absolute honour and a pleasure to host Sam and his outstanding team at my place in Zurich. That extreme metal has been overlooked in this series so far is a scandal. This episode is utterly overdue!”

Bands appearing in the episode include Venom, Celtic Frost/Hellhammer, Slayer, Napalm Death, Carcass, Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Enslaved, Gojira and more. The episode will also feature some renowned locations in the history of Extreme Metal including Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida, as well as travel footage from Norway, Switzerland, UK, US, and Hellfest (France), one of the world’s biggest metal festivals.

Contributors’ support for the new IndieGoGo campaign will cover costs of finishing the episode which includes editing, archival and music licensing, onlining, sound mixing and other post-production costs. “People are often surprised by how much making quality film and TV costs. It requires a lot of hard work from a team of talented people to ensure we make the best possible show. Extreme Metal deserves the same high-production value and attention to detail that we gave the other Metal Evolution episodes”, adds Dunn. “I’m not getting paid to make this episode but what matters to me is that the Metal Evolution series is finally completed!”

Graveface Records announces Indiegogo fundraiser

Graveface Records launches fundraising effort with Indiegogo

Rare and recovered vinyl, test pressings, oddities, and more.

Graveface Records launched an Indiegogo fundraiser today in an effort to recoup money lost due to a basement flooding that destroyed an unspeakable amount of Graveface stock and the subsequent (very expensive) legal battle with the distributor who despite being contractually obligated to have insurance covering such disasters, in fact had none.A sad story, yes?

Three years of court dates later, Graveface Records eventually was awarded the recovered stock from the flood, which is now being made available for purchase, along with lots of other fun Graveface goodies.

With 20 tiers of “perks” (and more to come), you’ll find everything from MP3s and CDs to rare and unreleased vinyl to handmade “Ouija” style talking boards. Additionally, the new Marshmellow Ghosts Halloween album will be available exclusivelythrough this fundraiser.

Head on over to Indiegogo for lots more information and please help us spread the word by sharing the news with your readers.

HUNTRESS Hosting “Virtual Yard Sale” For Mayhem Festival Tour Support

photo1creditneilzlozowe

HUNTRESS has generated a massive amount of buzz since the release of their debut album Spell Eater in 2012. The follow up to last year’s kill is Starbound Beast, to be released on July 2nd during the band’s run with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Huntress is about to embark on the biggest tour opportunity of their new career, as well as the most demanding and expensive. HUNTRESS has teamed up with fellow Mayhem brothers Battlecross to share the cost for a bus this summer, since their tour vans can’t handle the extreme heat. And that is only the beginning of the financial strain for a young metal band with minimal tour support.

HUNTRESS has started an indiegogo (Virtual Yard Sale) campaign to ensure their participation in the festival. Check out their indiegogo page HERE, featuring enticing packages and unique collector items. Some of the perks offered are signed CD DigiPaks and Vinyl of their upcoming album Starbound Beast, and packages that feature tickets to Mayhem Festival plus hang outs with the band. Water balloon fights, parking lot BBQs and Astrological readings with Jill Janus are also offered up for sacrifice. Some of the most exclusive perks include the sword prop and red cloak from the “Eight of Swords” video, and Blake’s 1979 Custom GMC Vandura. More items and unique opportunities will be added as well.

In more HUNTRESS related Mayhem news, vocalist Jill Janus will host the first ever Shred-Meister guitar competition.  Festival attendees can go to the Jägermeister tents on site and audition for a chance to shred for 10 seconds on the main stage. Each day, one of the 10 finalists will win a custom Jägermeister guitar from Schecter and the overall winner at the end of the tour will win a custom Jägermeister full stack and head courtesy of Peavey Electronics.

Starbound Beast will be released on June 28th in Europe and on July 2nd in North America via Napalm Records.  The band recorded the album at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles, CA, working with famed producer Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front).  The artwork for Starbound Beast was created once again by Vance Kelly (Slayer, Ghost B.C., Mastodon).

HUNTRESS has just revealed the first song off the new record titled “I Want to Fuck You to Death”, co-written by Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. To hear the streaming version now, check out the HUNTRESS Facebook Page.  Click the “LIKE US TO DEATH” tab or visit this direct link: http://a.pgtb.me/jsQf9xx

HUNTRESS was spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands Professor and Dark Black. They thrive on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band’s musical concoction of occult science and bong rips. HUNTRESS remains true to the roots of melodic heavy metal with a penchant for thrash, death and black metal.

CHIMAIRA LAUNCH INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN, NEW ALBUM DETAILS

CHIMAIRA LAUNCH INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN AROUND NEW LP
“Crown Of Phantoms” Due Out July 30, 2013
On Tour This Spring!

Metal titans CHIMAIRAannounce a massive crowd funding campaign surrounding the release of their brand new LP, “Crown of Phantoms.”  The album will be released onTuesday, July 30. 2013.

The band is seeking support for a special fan edition CD/DVD. This edition and its perks will only be available to campaign supporters and will not be sold anywhere else. Specifically, supporters will be contributing to the following:

  • Two narrative music videos
  • A behind the scenes, “Crown Of Phantoms” making-of documentary
  • Seven additional tracks exclusive to the fan edition
  • Various behind the scenes videos
  • Expanded version of “Dr. Z” with fan determined ending
  • Full length album commentary that features dialog from all the band members as they listen to the record start to finish
  • Graphic art storyboards created specifically for the music videos included in the fan edition booklet
  • Original Artwork & Packaging exclusive to the fan edition

To further conceptualize their plan, the band has released a video explaining, with some satire, the details of their campaign along with a sneak peek of a brand new track called “Kings of the Shadow World” and a visual display of the many creative perks they’re offering to contributors. Visit the official campaign site for full details on the endeavor and its perks.

For more than a decade, CHIMAIRA has been imposing its gravity on the metal community by continually touring the globe and selling more than a million albums worldwide. Their brand of heavy music has evolved and transcended both itself and the trends while maintaining its persistent, bludgeoning force. In 2013, CHIMAIRA continues to direct the masses and define a dark future with their new album, “Crown of Phantoms.” Frontman Mark Hunter comments on the band’s forward progression:

“When I started this band I had a desire to make extremely heavy, eclectic metal. Nothing has changed in that regard. I wanted to merge all the styles I loved into a hybrid of sounds. Having the chance to reinvent the group gave me the opportunity to work with unbelievable players and take the essence of Chimaira to uncharted territory. Assembling the right team was essential to creating what I feel is some of the craziest and most passionate music I’ve had the pleasure to be a part of. The past defines us while the present refines us.”

CHIMAIRA is: Mark Hunter (vocals), Emil Werstler (guitar), Austin D’Amond (drums), Matt Szlachta (guitar), Jeremy Creamer (bass), Sean Zatorsky (keyboards)

THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE LAUNCHES INDEGOGO CAMPAIGN

Pennsylvania metal act THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE launched an Indiegogo campaign today to try and stay on the road. The band is currently between tours supporting their recently released LP, “Dead Years.” A full statement from the band is below. Click here to view the campaign.

We are This Or The Apocalypse, an internationally touring band from Lancaster, PA. On our way home from our 30th US tour at about 3:00am Our van lit on fire and we broke down at a rest stop an hour away from home. After waiting 8 hours we found someone to pick up and our trailer up and take us home while our van was towed to a garage.

After inspecting the van we were notified that it was far beyond repairable. For any of you who have never followed us in the past, last winter we broke down in Canada and spent over $3K rebuilding our fuel pump, which took over a week. We spent that week hopping from trains, vans, taxis and fans cars from show to show so that we didn’t have to cancel any dates on the tour.

Unfortunately, at this time with buying flights to Europe and dealing with other debts and personal expenses, we simply cannot afford to buy a new van. So we are asking our fans to help with donations that all will go towards getting us a new van to get back on tour and promote our new album ‘Dead Years’ even more.

We put together a great list of incentives to say thank you for your help. We will also be filming a web documentary about the band and the life of being a touring musician as well as a music video for the song “Americans” where we will be BLOWING UP our old van.

If you are unable to help us financially Indiegogo has great tools that help you share our cause with your friends which is just as big of a help to us. Through your donations and promotion we can get a new vehicle and get back on the road and continue touring.

We really cannot express how much we appreciate all of your help.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Rick, Matt, Rod, Jack & Aaron

The band released “Dead Years” late last year to much criticial acclaim. Produced by Kevin Lankford and engineered by Andreas Magnusson, this is by far some of the band’s most aggressive material to date.

“While delivering the kind of unpredictable polyrhythms that define their virtuosic metalcore, the guys also reveal some pretty solid ‘songs.'” Revolver Magazine

“Dead Years is not only another step forward, it’s the kind of record that will define This or the Apocalypse for years to come. It’s that good.” Outburn Magazine

“Arguably one of the most underrated bands in the metalcore genre.” – Hails and Horns Magazine

“If you enjoyed the mind-blowing instrumentation on Haunt What’s Left, then Dead Years needs to be your big priority to acquire.” – Metal Insider

“I love about this album that it incorporates everything the band has done on their previous efforts and simply takes it to a whole new level.” – ultimate-guitar.com

PROTEST THE HERO Teams Up with INDIEGOGO to Raise Funds for New Album

PROTEST THE HERO has decided to go DIY and raise the funds for their new record themselves. They have decided to use the crowd-funding website IndieGoGo for their campaign. The fundraising starts today and will run for the next 30 days.

The band is offering many ‘perks’ on the site that are only available during this time period and are exclusive to the campaign. They plan to go into the studio in March to record their fourth studio album. For information on the PROTEST THE HERO IndieGoGo project, go to www.Indiegogo.com/protestthehero.
