rue vox Releases Sinister, Official Music Video for “90s Villain” Starring Henry Flury and Heidi Shepherd (BUTCHER BABIES) and CHRIS KAEL (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH)!

Las Vegas, NV based dark Rock/Pop/Industrial artist rue vox has released the official music video for her new single, “90s Villain.” Featuring BUTCHER BABIES’S HENRY FLURY and HEIDI SHEPHERD as well as CHRIS KAEL of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and directed by SHANE and DEED of SonStudios, the visceral music video follows the songstress through a series of brutal murders of seduced victims until her own murder at the denouement of the saga.

“90s Villain shows how our character defects can find a way to take us out in the end. I wrote this song to kind of call myself out in how I’ve been a terrible girlfriend in my past. In the video I’m a serial killer who ends up getting murdered by her would-be-victim. It symbolizes how the worst parts of us have to die, sometimes involuntarily, in order for us to truly live.” – rue vox

“rue vox is a beast of a talent behind the microphone and her creativity doesn’t stop there. She came to me with the inspiration for her music video to be a female slasher and the epitome of a 90s Villain. We took our love of giallo films to the next level and delivered a pulp-esque style short film.
We shot on Red camera with appearances by Butcher Babies and 5FDP’s Chris Kael, and all slated in the dingiest, grimiest motel on the Las Vegas Strip as each victim plays the odds with a seductress.

And so the slaughterhouse began.” – Shane O’Neal

Making a pivotal decision to move from Detroit to Las Vegas and pursue her dreams of stepping into the spotlight – Rue confidently started the most exciting chapter of her story to-date. Bursting onto the scene like a supernova, with breathtaking vocals & a brilliant hybrid sound of her own that explores the wild depths of Rock/Pop/Industrial – Rue’s undeniably edgy style instantly got the buzz surrounding her music going strong. Able to deliver the most delicate of melodies with precision & heart, to the most extreme hard-hitting moments designed to take her vocals to the limits & beyond – Rue’s astounding voice is every bit as captivating as it is charismatic. Review & Pictorial: In This Moment Brings Hellpop II to Pittsburgh

Powerful.  Sexy.  Passionate.  The voice of an angel and a banshee.  She’s quite the combination.  Maria Brink, front woman of In This Moment, commanded all eyes and ears front and center during their performance at Club Zoo Pittsburgh on January 15, 2014.  Having the ability to see ITM at a club setting rather than a large festival made all the difference in the world visually.  Not that ITM wasn’t fantastic last time I witnessed their performance at Uproar in Pittsburgh, or when we caught them at Carnival of Madness.  It’s just that there is a whole different aspect to being that intimate and having the effect of lighting, dry ice, and sound hit that creates an ambiance beyond what outdoor offerings provide.

With a stage show that is complete with frequent costume changes, minor stage re-arrangements, multiple FX, and generous theatrics, In This Moment give their fans a ton of bang for their buck.  Even when they don’t perform they are generous.  For a few dates before Pittsburgh and Detroit, Maria was ill with strep throat and could not perform.  Instead of cancelling the shows, Butcher Babies, All Hail the Yeti, and Devour The Day put on free shows and In This Moment are going back to put on make up shows for free.  That’s crazy generous,  and smart…take note young bands, this is how it’s done.

Maria and co-founder guitarist Chris Howorth have been doing this for some time and have made very precise decisions to do things properly, which is why fans and musicians love them equally.  They are just good people.  Talk to any of the bands that have been on tour with them and they can’t say enough good things.  Talk to their fans about the interactions in person and via the social networks and it’s just…gushing.  This is so refreshing to hear in a business full of egos and many backstage stories (that we as press are often privy to but can’t print) that you can’t help but be a fan of what Maria and her band are doing as musicians and to empower women.

Although Club Zoo definitely has it’s ;imitations as a venue (i.e. soundsystem and plenty of blind spots), it did have the ability to let more fans see the show than say Altar Bar.  Maria and the band stayed after the show to meet with the fans as well.  On a special not: whoever does sound for ITM deserves a medal, because he worked miracles after what the opening bands dealt with (and what we saw Whitechapel go through last year at Club Zoo).  If you have never seen In This Moment in concert, it certainly is a treat for the eyes and ears, and if you can be sure to catch them on the Hellpop II Tour for an amazing package of entertainment.

Highlights: “Rise With Me”, “Closer”, “Whore”, “Blood” (setlist below pix)

Interview & Show Review:Butcher Babies Bring it back to the ‘Burg on Hellpop II

The Butcher Babies once again graced Pittsburgh with their brand of female fronted heavy metal mayhem on their trek with In This Moment’s Hellpop II Tour.  Always entertaining, never taking their rise for granted; Heidi, Carla, Henry, Chris, and Jason have been grinding it in promotion of their latest release “Goliath”.  And these girls and guys bring a ‘Goliath’ show every time.  Even if female vocals are not your metal cup-o-whiskey, you have to give kudos on the performance alone.  But, get past the negative naysayers who can’t get over the fact that they are misogynists and not true metalheads, and get to the fact that these girls have talent and the guys have the goods as well.

We were lucky enough to once again get to spend some time with Heidi and Carla on the Butcher RV just before their set.  Check out our interview where they talk to us about: TOURING WITH IN THIS MOMENT ON THE HELLPOP II TOUR, DEALING WITH HATERS, THE OLYMPICS, CARLA’S ART, HEIDI’S SEWING, CRAZY STUFF ON MAYHEM, SLIPKNOT NEWS, TOURING EUROPE, AND HITTING THE STUDIO…

The Butcher Babies hit the stage hard opening with “I Smell A Massacre” and never let up last night (1/15/14)  at Club Zoo in Pittsburgh.  Other standouts included “National Bloody Anthem”, “Mr. Slowdeath”, “Magnolia Blvd.” and “Axe Wound”.  The crowd was pretty insane with serious moshing and crowd surfing, totally eating up what the babies were serving.  Check out some of the scene below…

DEVOUR THE DAY performing in Pittsburgh 1/15 as part of “The Hellpop II” tour with In This Moment

The band’s current trek is with In This Moment, Butcher Babies and All Hail The Yeti as part of “The Hellpop II” tour, which lands in Pittsburgh, PA onWednesday, January 15 at Club Zoo.

DEVOUR THE DAY–Joey “Chicago” Walser (bass, backing vocals, songwriter) and Blake Allison (singer, guitarist, producer, songwriter)–is definitely one of music’s biggest Cinderella stories of 2013.  The first single, “Good Man,” reached the Top 10 on the “Active Rock” chart, the Top 15 on the “Mainstream Rock Tracks” chart.  They have sold over 100,000 downloads on iTunes and “Good Man” was the 36th most spun track of 2013 on Active Rock stations nationwide.  The video for “Good Man” garnered over 900,000 views on YouTube.  They’ve toured with Theory of a Deadman, Hinder, Sevendust, Sick Puppies and others.  All this while on the independent label, Fat Lady Music.

Thanks to this initial success and groundwork laid over the last year, DEVOUR THE DAY and Fat Lady Music have now joined forces with Caroline to help usher in the next phase of their evolving journey.   As part of this new partnership, a new version of TIME & PRESSURE is being re-released on January 14 and will include an acoustic version of “Good Man,” as well as a brand new song, “Check Your Head.” Legendary producer/mixer Brian Malouf (Queen, Michael Jackson, Dave Matthews Band) revamped the entire album and has brought a new sound and life to DEVOUR THE DAY’s music.  The first release had previously only been available digitally, while the updated album will be sold at both online and major retailers nationwide.

Not one to shy away from confrontation of his own demons and personal tribulations, Walser candidly explains the meaning behind the second single, “Move On” (which is being serviced to Rock and Alternative radio this week):  “I remember myself standing outside of a downtown Chicago apartment, freezing in the snow without socks or shoes, waiting on a ride from anyone that would come get me.  I had just been removed from my house by the police, in front of my crying children.  My wife, who I discovered was having an affair with her drug dealer, was screaming and hurling hatred at me, to combat her guilt, as the officers and apartment staff pulled me into the elevator.  As I stood there in the snow, chained to my confusion and pain, I received a call.  John, the singer of the band I had put ten years of hard work into was quitting.  No real explanation, just the end.  Everything was over.  I had discovered my wife’s infidelity at 7am, and by 9am, my marriage, my home and my career were over.  I was empty.  I watched my breath as it hit the frozen air and drift away.  But I was still alive.  After months of hurting in a way only those of us who have experienced real tragedy would, I remembered that simple fact:  I was still alive.  I wanted to write a song about that moment, when you stop crying and hurting and feeling bad for yourself. The instant when you stop allowing everything that has been piled on you, to crush and destroy you.  After all that devastation, I had two choices. I could let the circumstances overcome and conquer me, I could let this swallow me whole or I could refuse and keep fighting.  I would not give in.  I will move on.  That is honestly what the song personally means to me.  Nothing better than the truth.”

Iconvsicon.com described the album as a “…powerful wall of sound,” whileMetalholic.com noted, “TIME & PRESSURE does justice to their reputation for crafting great rocks songs with an empowering message” and Ampkicker raved, “This is a brutally good record.”  And Emurg.com agrees:  “TIME & PRESSURE is an album filled with in-your-face lyrics, guitar driven tracks, and an energy that keeps the listener on their toes throughout the entire duration of the album.”

IN THIS MOMENT premiere “WHORE” music video

You’ve heard the song, now it’s time to see the video – IN THIS MOMENT are proud to unveil “Whore” in its full cinematic splendor, and have released the song’s official music video today across Clear Channel’s nationwide network of websites. You can watch the video on your favorite Clear Channel Active Rock radio station website or Facebook page, or CLICK HERE to view the video at iHeartRadio.com.

The video has a stark voyeuristic feel, combining the theatrical aplomb that marks IN THIS MOMENT’s live performances with visuals that are as compelling as they are disturbing. Directed by Robert Kley, who was also at the helm for the band’s “Adrenalize” and “Blood” videos, “Whore” co-stars MOTIONLESS IN WHITE frontman Chris Motionless. “His look is so perfect for the dirty vintage feel of the video, and he was a perfect gentleman while being violated by me,” says IN THIS MOMENT frontwoman Maria Brink.

“I knew how amazing placing the visual arts to ‘Whore’ would be when we wrote it, and I have been waiting to release this video since we recorded the song,” Brink continues of the band’s new video. “I am so passionate about the concepts and every single detail that goes into shooting a music video, and I created my own stimulating visual metaphor to make this – I am grateful to have worked with Robert Kley again, he always seems to help me bring what I see in my mind to life. ‘Whore’ is a song that pushes boundaries, and I needed the video to do the same. The song is about taking back control. It is about rising above and finding the power within ourselves. I hope everyone enjoys it!”

Adds IN THIS MOMENT guitarist Chris Howorth: “‘Whore’ is one of my favorite songs on ‘Blood’ and the video is the best we have created to date – it’s just as creepy and sexy as our live show, with a bunch of extra surprises. Maria really outdid herself on this one… this is her twisted vision brought to life, enjoy!”

“Whore” continues to climb at radio, where the track currently sits at #17 with a bullet on the Active Rock charts. The song is the third single from IN THIS MOMENT’s breakthrough album ‘Blood’ – released in August 2012 on Century Media Records, it marked the highest debut of the band’s career, entering the Billboard Top 200 at No. 15 and selling more than 20,000 units first week. The record has emerged as one of the best selling rock albums of the past year, recently surpassing 200,000 in sales according to SoundScan.

Maria Brink had this to say about her provocative photo shoot to promote “Whore”: “I decided to pose nude for the visual art for ‘Whore’ to evoke a raw vulnerable emotion. The word WHORE written down my back and the dunce cap symbolize me placing myself on the stake for those who are suffering, and I can only hope to encourage at least one person to find the self worth and love they deserve to transcend out of a painful situation into a beautiful one. It is about finding our power and taking a stand. We are resilient beings and need to realize our incredible strengths. I will not bow down to others perceptions of me. I will only rise in the name of art, love and music.”

IN THIS MOMENT are currently on the road headlining the first leg of their HELLPOP tour, which kicked off October 24 in Tempe, AZ and runs through November 27 in Los Angeles, CA. The tour is being fueled by the band’s continued success at radio, where current single “Whore” sits at #21 at Active Rock formats and is poised to break the Top 20. Watch the provocative lyric video for “Whore” here.

“I am so proud and excited for the world to hear ‘Whore’,” says IN THIS MOMENT frontwoman Maria Brink of her band’s latest single. “The message behind this song is taking back control. It is about taking the power from a disgusting and degrading word and turning it back around on the accuser. It’s about self-empowerment, love and liberation. This is an honest and raw movement that needs to be heard.”

The imagery the band has created around “Whore” is just as provocative: “I decided to pose nude for the visual art for ‘Whore’ to evoke a raw vulnerable emotion.

“Whore” is the third single from IN THIS MOMENT’s Century Media Records release ‘Blood’. The album was released in August 2012 and marked the highest debut of the band’s career, entering the Billboard Top 200 at No. 15 and selling more than 20,000 units first week. The record has emerged as one of the best selling rock albums of the past year, with sales of more than 195,000, and counting.

From January 26-30, 2014, the band will be making a return engagement on the SHIPROCKED cruise, where they will set sail out of Miami, FL, to Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. For more information, visit www.shiprocked.com.

IN THIS MOMENT launch “Whore” lyric video

“I am so proud and excited for the world to hear ‘Whore’,” says IN THIS MOMENT frontwoman Maria Brink of her band’s latest single. “The message behind this song is taking back control. It is about taking the power from a disgusting and degrading word and turning it back around on the accuser. It’s about self-empowerment, love and liberation. This is an honest and raw movement that needs to be heard.”

“Whore” is skyrocketing at radio, where the track jumped from 32 to 28 on the Active Rock charts this week – and now fans can experience the song with a visual as provocative as the song itself. IN THIS MOMENT has partnered with Revolver Magazine to premiere the official lyric video for “Whore,” which can be viewed exclusively at RevolverMag.com:

http://www.revolvermag.com/news/exclusive-in-this-moment-premiere-lyric-video-for-new-single-whore.html

“Whore” is the third single from IN THIS MOMENT’s Century Media Records release ‘Blood’. The album was released in August 2012 and marked the highest debut of the band’s career, entering the Billboard Top 200 at No. 15 and selling more than 20,000 units first week. The record has emerged as one of the best selling rock albums of the past year, with sales of more than 190,000, and counting.

But “Whore” is more than just a great song – it is a vehicle for the band to convey the true intent behind their use of the word, with Maria Brink creating the term ‘WomenHonoring One another Rising Eternally’, stripping the negative connotation of the word and replacing it with an empowering spirit.

The imagery the band has created around “Whore” is just as provocative: “I decided to pose nude for the visual art for ‘Whore’ to evoke a raw vulnerable emotion.

Guitarist Chris Howorth adds: “One of the best things about the song ‘Whore’ is all the feelings and thoughts that the word alone provokes. That’s great, but at the end of the day it’s just a word, the only power it really has is the power that we give it. It’s really just about taking the power back from the word, and when you get past all the controversy of the word you have a bombastic rock and roll song with crushing guitars and huge drums that will have you screaming ‘whore!’ at the top of your lungs – listen with your heart!”

Carnival Of Madness @ First Niagara Pavilion

Tuesday night August 20th 2013 the Carnival Of Madness Tour rolled through Pittsburgh, PA and blew the roof off the First Niagara Pavilion. This tour features bands We As Human, In This Moment, Papa Roach, Skillet, and headliners of the night Shinedown. The entire concert had a different feel to it from the start. There was certainly something different about this show from the start. Could it be the crazy circus performers roaming the grounds or the $13.00 beer? Only the people there will really now? We As Human started the show off with an outstanding set with a surprise performance by Skillet’s own John Cooper. Next out was In This Moment to deliver a show that really made me wanting more. From the white faced dancers covered in blood on the stage, to the all mighty vocals of Maria Brink. They played the popular song “Blood”, and their current hit “Whore”. To me this set was rival for set of the night. Out next was the ever so famous Papa Roach. Papa Roach did what Papa Roach is known to do and deliver an energy packed performance. These guys have been around for what I believe is 20 years and you would never believe that from their on stage presence. They fly around the stage full of energy like a bunch of teenagers and put on a hell of a show. Highlights of the set were “Scars” and the hit that started it all “Last Resort”. Skillet took the stage next and absolutely blew everyone away. This is the second time I’ve seen them. The first being at Creation Festival 2013 where they headlined. They had a production at Creation that might be the biggest I’ve seen to date. I was wondering on the way in if they would have the same presence on stage without that kind of setup. They absolutely did. Smaller production does not mean smaller performance to these guys and gals. They sounded better than they did previous times and delivered. If anyone went home that night and said Skillet didn’t impress anyone, they weren’t watching the same show I was. Finally out last was the all might Shinedown. What can really be said about this group that hasn’t been said before. The insane amount of pyro that went off to start their set was incredible, and the set to follow was even more impressive. Here are some shots from the performances!

“We’re really looking forward to returning to Rock On The Range with a batch of brand new killer Alice tunes
to play for everyone!” says Jerry Cantrell, Alice In Chains.

“Head is back!!,” says Korn’s Jonathan Davis. “Rock On The Range is going to start it all off!! Get ready,
we are going to hit it hard!!”

“Bush are thrilled to be playing Rock On The Range with such great bands,” says Bush’s Gavin Rosdale.
“We look forward to seeing you all out there.”

“This massive lineup has scratched our seven-year itch!” says Gary Spivack, co-executive producer of the
event for Right Arm Entertainment. “Getting Soundgarden for their first Ohio play in two decades and
having seminal acts Alice In Chains, Korn, Volbeat and Papa Roach return along with bands new to ROTR that
include Smashing Pumpkins and Bush, and everything in between–the spectrum of rock n roll is covered…three days of constant energy. Rock On The Range is truly where rock lives.”

Now in its seventh year, ROTR will again take place at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH on Friday, May 17, Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19, 2013. With the addition of a full slate of artists performing on Friday, festival organizers are also adding a series of additional enhancements for ROTR 2013, including the new ROTR Comedy Tent.
“Our goal with ROTR is to constantly create new and interesting ways to expand the event and give even more
value to our fans,” comments Joe Litvag, co-executive producer of the event for AEG Live. “In 2013, we’ve
added a comedy tent within the site that will be curated by The Funny Bone comedy club. Having a slate of
incredible, up-and-coming comedians to riff on the rock experience will be a great change of pace for the
weekend. The site layout is also changing dramatically in 2013 to create better event flow, to add more
interactive fan activity to the festival, and to allow even more people to experience the higher caliber of talent
on the second stage this year.”

As a special limited offer, pre-sale weekend tickets start at a low price of $89.50 (plus fees), for Stadium
GA tickets only, from Wednesday, January 30 through Thursday, January 31 at 10pm EST.
Additionally, a limited number of Stadium GA “4-ticket packs” are also available for $299–a savings of
nearly 25%–beginning on Wednesday, January 30, while supplies last.

their favorite bands for an unprecedented value.”

sponsored by Monster Energy, Jägermeister, f.y.e., and U.S. Army. The nationally renowned festival, centrally
