Pennsylvania metalers MY HEART TO FEAR are set to release their Solid State Records debut, Lost Between Brilliance and Insanity, December 4th. Through a partnership with Hot Topic, physical copies of the release will be exclusively found in any of the chain’s more than 600 stores, while the digital release will hit all traditional digital outlets.
Building anticipation for the EP, the band has released a lyric video for “Dear Mr. White,” a track that represents the band’s approach on Lost Between… – technical riffs, swaggering vocals and sky-high choruses, elements that helped MY HEART TO FEAR build its fervent fanbase over several self-released efforts.
The Williamsport, PA-based act hails from the same geographic region and musical circles that spawned a number of metalcore successes in recent years – most notably genre giants AUGUST BURNS RED, in addition to the likes of TEXAS IN JULY (Equal Vision) and THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE (eOne Entertainment). While a less confident band may look to steal a page or two out of those artists’ playbooks, MY HEART TO FEAR are intent on forging their own sound.
“When we write music we don’t stick to any one formula,” explains vocalist Trevor Pool. “We don’t write to please a certain group of people or to fit into specific genres. Nor do we sit down with a preconceived idea of what a song should or should not sound like. Instead we allow the music itself to reveal subconscious and spiritual paths. Rather than deriving inspiration solely from music, we find influence in the world around us and aim to transpose these non-musical entities into the musical aspects of a song.”
For MY HEART TO FEAR, their music and their career are built on four pillars of support that have helped the band push on and persevere: Family. Faith. Pride. Brotherhood. It’s a saying that has become something of a mantra for the band and demonstrates their belief that, for as much as they believe in their own abilities, they wouldn’t be where they are without the support of others.

One of the most iconic rock bands of all time, Black Sabbath, has signed with world’s leading music merchandising company, Bravado, a division of Universal Music Group. The announcement was made by Tom Bennett, CEO, Bravado.
Black Sabbath, consisting of the legendary Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi, are one of the most influential bands of all time. Their albums, including the quadruple platinum Paranoid, released in 1970, helped define the genre of hard rock. Frequently cited as one of the greatest hard rock and metal bands of all time, Black Sabbath has sold 70 million albums worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
Bravado will commemorate the launch of the Black Sabbath collection with contests held in the USA, UK and Germany for fans and budding t-shirt designers to create their own Black Sabbath inspired merchandise. In the USA, Hot Topic will sponsor a “Design your own Black Sabbath T-shirt” and in the UK, HMV will sponsor the same, with one lucky winner having his/her creation sold exclusively at that store. The winning designer will also receive a lithograph signed by the members of Black Sabbath. In Germany, the leading mail order company EMP, with sponsor the contest, with the winning design sold exclusively in their catalog and online.
“Bravado is dedicated to working with the most talented and most popular artists of our time,” stated Mr. Bennett. “To many, Black Sabbath transcend their music. They not only created a genre, but they then elevated it to have a place in pop culture. I can’t wait to see what kind of products they will create with us.”
In June, 2012 Black Sabbath will co-headline the Download Music Festival, a three day rock music festival held annually at Donnington Park, England and then perform in August at the Lollapalooza Festival in the Chicago, Illinois area.
