ABOVE SNAKES Release Official Music Video for “Nothing to Lose”

Active Rock / Nu Metal Band ABOVE SNAKES has released the official music video for their latest single, “Nothing to Lose,” the fourth single from the Boston based group, a seriously heavy banger of an anthem.

“This is an unapologetic anthem to not giving an F and living life the way you want. Life is too short and you gotta follow your dreams no matter how many people are chirping in your ear telling you you’re crazy.”- Johnny Skulls

Originally premiered on New Noise Magazine, “Nothing to Lose” was recorded at the legendary East Iris Studios (formally House Of Blues Studios) in Nashville, “Nothing to Lose” was produced / mixed by Kile Odell (FOZZYTHROUGH FIREAWAKE AT LAST) and co-written by Zach Williams (lead singer of DEAD EYES). The Accompanying music video , written and co-directed by singer Johnny Skulls and guitarist Dax Dabs, showcases the bands eccentric image and high energy performance.

“Nothing to Lose” follows the release of the bands previous singles “I Feel Bad,” which premiered with Knotfest.com, and “Never Alone,” which was added to ROCK HARD on Spotify, NEW ROCK NOW and NEW MUSIC NOW on Pandora, along with Loudwire’s Weekly Wire.

Above Snakes share the stage with Dropout Kings on October 26th @ Jewel Night Club in Manchester NH.

After years spent grinding in the ever-dimming lights of Hollywood, vocalist Johnny Skulls and guitarist Dax Dabs opened their eyes and realized what so many never do: ”why the f*ck are we trying to do it THEIR way?” At that moment, what once felt so distorted and lacking in its luster was now crystal clear. And with nothing but the open road and their own volition staring back at them, the two joined forces after years of friendship and returned to where it all started.

In 2019, the duo found their way back home to Boston and began working relentlessly on a new project: Above Snakes. They would soon partner with producer Kile Odell (FOZZY, THROUGH FIRE, AWAKE AT LAST) and in the summer of 2020, the band released their debut track
“Adrenaline”, which quickly earned a spot on PANDORA’S “NEW ROCK NOW” alongside PAPA ROACHFIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, & I-PREVAIL including Spotify placements from the likes of LOUDWIRE , FEARLESS RECORDS, & HOPELESS RECORDS.

“Adrenaline” was soon followed by their next single “Never Alone”, with a massive placement on SPOTIFY’S “ROCK HARD” playlist alongside BRING ME THE HORIZONARCHITECTS, and SEETHER.

After landing a premiere with SLIPKNOT’S KNOTFEST.COM for their 3rd release “I Feel Bad”, Above Snakes return louder and heavier than ever with a brand new single “Nothing To Lose” Produced by Kile Odell and Co-written by Zach Williams of Dead Eyes.

On December 4th, 2013, Hopeless Records – the home to bands such as All Time Low, Taking Back Sunday, The Wonder Years, The Used, We Are The In Crowd and many more – will celebrate its 20year anniversary as an independent record label.

Label founder and president Louis Posen remarks:
“There is a proverb that says, ‘If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ We recognize these past 20 years have everything to do with the fortune and opportunity to work with amazing fans, co-workers, artists, managers, agents, distributors, retailers, media outlets, individuals and organizations. There aren’t words to describe the level of gratitude and appreciation we feel for all those who have supported Hopeless Records and Sub City these first 20 years.  We hope we have given to you as much as you have given to us.”

Founded in 1993, Hopeless Records has had much to celebrate in its 20 years. In two decades, the label has been transformed from small beginnings as the punk-centric hobby of Posen into one of the largest independent record labels in the world according to market share, while releasing music spread across a valley of genres.

THE WONDER YEARS To Release New Album The Greatest Generation on May 14th

The Wonder Years will be releasing their new album, The Greatest Generation, via Hopeless Records on May 14th, 2013.The album was produced and engineered by Steve Evetts (Saves the Day, Lifetime, Every Time I Die), and mixed by Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink-182, Motion City Soundtrack). The band will appear on the entire 2013 Vans Warped Tour Main Stage, as well as heading out on their Spring headliner tour with FireworksHostage Calm, and Misser, kicking off on March 8th inAsbury ParkNJ. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit:www.TheWonderYearsBand.com.

Consisting of Dan “Soupy” Campbell (lead singer), Casey Cavaliere (guitarist),Matt Brasch (guitarist), Nick Steinborn (keyboardist/guitarist), Joshua Martin(bassist), and Michael Kennedy (drummer)The Wonder Years are a band that started as something of a joke and grew to become recognized around the country, courtesy of a sloppy debut LP that flicked some sort of switch. Releasing TheUpsides in January 2010, a complete departure from The  Years’ early work, was just the beginning of an ongoing avalanche of momentum that has led the Philadelphia sextet to the forefront of the pop-punk community.

Engaging musicianship and intimate, instantly relatable lyricism made The Wonder Years a critical darling even before hordes of fans began to take notice. But it didn’t take long for everyone to jump on board. Signing to Hopeless Records with their brand of “realist pop-punk” and re-releasing The Upsides with bonus tracks brought about new buzz, and the release of the sprawling, 13-track concept record Suburbia I’ve Given You All and Now I’m Nothing in June of 2011 confirmed what many thought: The Wonder Years were for real.

Playing shows in basements, backyards and VFW halls the country over in its early years, the band had a DIY mentality long before it broke through to a larger audience. “The idea was that, for a long time, no one wanted to work with The Wonder Years so we said fuck it, we’ll do it ourselves,” Campbell says. “We didn’t need anyone else. We weren’t looking for charity. We were just going to cowboy up and fucking do it.”

The Wonder Years graced the cover of Alternative Press, played an entire summer on the Vans Warped Tour, and supportedNew Found Glory on the Pop Punk’s Not Dead Tour to close out 2011. They opened 2012 in a huge way, with the Glamour Kills Tour, which Campbell called the band’s “first big-boy headliner.” Leading Polar Bear ClubTransitThe Story So FarA Loss for Words, and Into It. Over It. across the country for six weeks of sold-out shows proved that The Wonder Years are still growing, still making new friends, and breaking new boundaries.

Now, with the bands new release, The Greatest Generationwe will get to see what The Wonder Years have in store for us in 2013. The band tells us, “We know that this is unequivocally our strongest, most honest and most heartfelt work to date. We can’t wait to show everyone what we have in store for this release.”

The Wonder Years will release The Greatest Generation via Hopeless Records on May 14th, 2013. For track listing and tour dates, see below.

The Used Announce Vulnerable II Re issue, Now Available For Pre Order Here: www.hopelessrecords.com/artists/the-used

JANUARY 25TH | STAGE AE | PITTSBURGH, PA

Celebrating its eleventh year of raising funds and awareness to non-profit organizations, Sub City (Hopeless Records’ 501c3 non-profit organization, which has raised more than two million dollars for charity), is pleased to announce the 2013 edition of the Sub City Take Action Tour Featuring The Used. This year the tour will be benefiting the It Gets Better Project, a national organization created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach – if they can just get through their teen years. The It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers going through tough times that they are not alone – and it WILL get better. The Take Action Tour will be stopping by Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA on January 25th. Make sure to pick up your ticket today, here: www.takeactiontour.com/2013. VIP ticket options will be available to fans, which include front of the line passes, collectable laminate and signed copy of Vulnerable II.

The tour will feature alt-rock headliner, The Used, with support from We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire, and MindFlow. Kicking off at Las Vegas’ House of Blues on January 11th, the annual nationwide charity tour will circle the US through February, showcasing some of the best bands in music today while raising funds and awareness for It Gets Better and the concept that we can all help play a part in making a positive impact. Ten percent of the cost of each ticket purchased will be donated to It Gets Better and Sub City. The 2011 Take Action Tour raised nearly $50,000 to help further the mission of the non-profit, SEX, ETC., with over 19,000 fans attending the 30-stop city tour. Previous benefitting charities of the Sub City Take Action Tour also include Driving For Donors, Do Something, America’s Youth Hotline, ReachOut.com and The National Hopeline Network. To date, Sub City and the Take Action Tour have donated over 2 million dollars to over 50 non-profit organizations.

It Gets Better Project is a place where young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or struggling to find themselves can see how love and happiness can be a reality in their future. It’s a place where our straight allies can visit and support their friends and family members. It’s a place where people can share their stories, take the It Gets Better Project pledge and watch videos of love and support.

“The It Gets Better Project is thrilled to collaborate with The Used and Hopeless Records on the upcoming Take Action! tour. The Used are powerful voices for young people, well known for their community involvement and outreach, and for encouraging young people to embrace their individuality.” Stephanie Laffin, Board of Directors at It Gets Better Project, stated. “We look forward to working together to share the message of the It Gets Better Project with young people across the US, and letting LGBT youth know that it can and will get better.”

Bert and Jeph from The Used have created an It Gets Better video to help support the cause.

“It’s our privilege to work with such a lovely charity that does so much good in this confusing world. Please check out itgetsbetter.org and we’ll see you on the Take Action Tour,” says The Used frontman, Bert McCracken.

We Came As Romans’ guitarist/lyricist, Joshua Moore, also tells us, “We’re excited to be back touring in the US after three months. Though it’s fun to do international tours, there’s nothing like touring our own country, especially with such a well respected band like The Used, who a lot of our band grew up listening to, and on such a renowned annual tour. We can’t wait!”

In addition, Hopeless Records, in partner with their non- profit organization Sub City, presents Take Action Compilation Volume 11, a compilation album for charity. This year features two CDs full of unreleased and exclusive tracks from The Used, Bad Religion, AWOL Nation, All Time Low, 3OH!3 and many more. 5% of the suggested retail price from the sale of this compilation will go to continue to fulfill Sub City’s mission to connect bands, fans and causes they are passionate about. For the most current donation total and full list of charities benefiting from this and other Sub City releases, please visit: SubCity.net.
