EarthTone had created the track and we all vibed to it instantly. He had the concept and then it kinda became a running inside joke between us so we brought that kind of energy to the record. We wanted people to have just as much with the song as we did making it. All puns intended.”

“Foreign Affair” from Kodac aka M80

Foreign Affair” is a concept project that came about from the interaction with overseas producers/ artist/ DJ’s/ graphic designers. This was spawned from the promotions of Kodac aka M80’s most recent album, “Blessed By A Broken Heart” (The Experience). With his hands on involvement in sales and promotions, Kodac and his team were able to track the sales of the album and noticed a trend with overseas sales. Amazingly the music that Kodac creates, has a worldwide appeal that is embraced by many cultures. Not even the language barrier has stopped the impact of his music with people abroad. Kodac says “the cats overseas seem to have a grasp on what the Hip Hop culture was made for. Regardless of where you are at in the world, those are the types of people that I want to build with.”

The album features producers from Germany, France, Lithuania, Belgium, Poland, and Spain, with four different languages being represented. It also features artist from the USA,
OneBeLo (of Binary Star), Blue Raspberry (Wu-Tang), Fat Ray,
Bronze Nazareth (Wu-Tang), and artists from Tanzania, Ghana, France, Liberia, Egypt, and Uganda. The fusion of the music and the collection of features bring together an authentic sound that is genuine with out duplication. This is the result of an unexpected relationship that was formed, despite other pending obligations, resulting in a musical “Foreign Affair” between artists, producers, DJ’s and collaborators.

Kodac aka M80 is fresh off of a 20 city tour with the Harlem Globetrotters as the on court Emcee. Being on the road daily, and Emceeing in front of thousands has prepared him for anything and everything ahead. Having the overseas market in full view, this album is another example of how Hip Hop music, when used correctly, can bring all types of people together. Plans to tour Europe, Asia, the continent of Africa, and more using the music as the tool of interaction are being put together by G.F.G. Entertainment and sponsors. The “We ALL Have A GIFT” slogan is statement embraced globally, and understood by others who live their lives purposed filled.”

Now booking for the “Foreign Affair” Tour, Europe (3/2-3/18) and Africa (TBA) Kodac aka M80 will be available for features, shows, speaking engagements, interviews, hosting, videos, TV and Radio specials, and more. We look forward to building with the people who helped make this album

About Kodac aka M80

From DOPE BEATS to INSIGHTFUL PASSIONATE LYRICS to a INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW, KODAC AKA M80 is true to the soul of the music. Touring with the Harlem Globetrotters as on court emcee in over 20 cities in the U.S.A. , has prepared him to take the next step.
An original member of the Subterraneous Crew, his first solo album “UnClassified”, let the world know, that as an artist, he is going to explore his creativity with the GIFT of music. Next he gave the world an EP and a full album to “Blessed By A Broken Heart” (The Experience). The album goes into the life of the independent artist, the failure, the success, the love, the pain, but overall, the Blessing, of being broken down by the situations we are involved in not going our way. With the situations only making him stronger, and more creative, Kodac has taken his success/struggles and turned them into a time capsule collection of art and music. His latest album brings people together in the name of Hip Hop and Love. “Foreign Affair” is an International Collaboration project that brings producers and artists together from all around the world. Currently working on an EP series, he found himself spending time writing and recording the songs from these “foreign” producers, as if he were having an “affair” with this other project that continued to grab his attention. The end result is a musical display of Hip Hop, as perceived by those worldwide, properly entitled “Foreign Affair.”

Kodac aka M80 has performed at CMJ, SXSW, A3C, DEMF, the Madison Hip Hop Conference and opened for some the Hip Hop’s up and coming, as well as elite’s. He has also performed in over 25 states nation wide, and is in the process of booking an overseas tour in promotion of, “Foreign Affair.”

Buddy Lofton’s “Love Potion” (produced by CUSCINO)

Queens, NYC rapper Buddy Lofton presents “Love Potion”, his new single produced by Los Angeles producer CUSCINO. The two began working together after Buddy played the lead role in A Smile, which CUSCINO scored. “‘Love Potion’ came about as a result of the film itself, and my process while scoring it,” CUSCINO said. “Writer/Director Matthew Torchon paired me with Lofton to create something unique. What resulted was exactly that: a record that channels the spirit of the film, capturing a young man’s search for happiness within a fierce urban landscape and his own personal trappings.” Describing his style, Buddy says “We are all under the influence of something the world has to offer. It’s not just about drugs or alcohol; it’s about media outlets, religion, love, family and failures. Something has influenced you to become the person you are this very moment, and I’m always expanding upon this idea through my music – capturing certain moments, thoughts and vices from my life that have influenced me to be who I am today.” Buddy’s last release was the full-length Under The Influence (click to listen), and CUSCINO’s was the Eternality EP (click to listen).

Art Rap Goddess Bunny Michael Debuts “Gasolina” Video + EP Release Date

Transports Daddy Yankee to the gate of a demonic mirror universe where you’re not sure if you want to party or run for your life.

I am fond of the deeply odd, occasionally obscene art rap of [Bunny Michael].
The New Yorker

What do you get when you send a rapping Bjork and Mother Nature on a spiritual journey through space, time, another dimension? Bunny Michael. Named the original “art rapper” by Sasha Frere Jones in The New YorkerBunny Michael provides the soundtrack to your personal creative evolution.

Bunny’s oozing of inspiration is clear. Her debut video for “Gasolina”, which premiered on Bullett Magazine, was birthed from a collective of artists with a goal of empowering women.  Directed and animated by Meriem Bennani, produced by VICE duo Purple Milk, and styled by “Other Travel” collaborator (along with Bennani) Hayden Dunham,  Bunny says of the experience, “Making this video was an out of body experience. My friends and I traveled to another realm, danced, laughed and sweat there. Meriem was our guide.“ Fans can receive the mp3 of “Gasolina” for free on Bunny’s Facebook page.

Formerly known as Bunny Rabbit, Bunny Michael has spent the past 4 years dedicating herself to the pedagogy of self realization through soundscapes and visualization, becoming an expanding vessel to Universal Creative Consciousness. Video: Mic Audio ft Mixo & John Wize – 30’s (prod by Matcy P)

Mic Audio of the Stereo Boyz releases the first single off his upcoming project “Hometown Advantage”, a collaborative effort with Chicago producer Matcy P.
The song “30’s” features fellow Stereo Boyz member Mixo and John Wize of the Stereo Crew whose voice can be heard on the intro and outro of the song.
Matcy P’s production made this song incredibly smooth which perfectly compliments Mic Audio’s flow and voice.

The full project “Hometown Advantage” will be released Feb 28th to close out Black History Month, under the Stereo Boyz’ slogan #MakingBlackHistoryMonth.

Check out the video below and grab your free copy of “30’s”.

The Stereo Boyz consist of members Mixo (aka Applauze Beetz) and Mic Audio (aka Perfect Hell). Before becoming the super group Stereo Boyz they were a part of the “Rhyme Asylum” (1999 – 2008), a group that claimed a reputation of being one of Detroit’s most hardcore underground rap groups. Performing since a young age, the two MCs have created an undeniable stage presence, they master the ceremony, and in countless freestyle competitions the Stereo Boyz have earned the respect of every emcee they came across. Completing their second tour across Europe in early 2013, with shows in Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland the Stereo Boyz have been internationally approved.

With Mixo coming from Detroit and Mic Audio from Chicago they have created a perfect fusion of the Midwest. Combining strong lyrics with catchy hooks, their sound merges the best of both worlds: clever rhymes and beats that any hip hop fan will nod their head or move their feet to.The mixtape “Sound Check Vol 1” was their first group effort and has earned praises from rap fans worldwide, as well as Mic Audios following solo project “Biblical Fearical”. The Stereo Boyz dropped their EP “Live from the Ghettoblaster” in January of 2011 and after releases like the “Guten Tag!” mixtape, beat tapes and several street releases, their highly anticipated debut album “Carz, Clubz & Theatrez” was released August 13th 2013. Constantly in the studio recording and working on new beats and rhymes the group makes it impossible to be slept on.

The Stereo Boyz represent the past, present, & future of Detroit Hip-Hop. Their combination of Detroit Motown and Chicago’s House & Electro sound has created a midwest masterpiece. Now it’s time to share that masterpiece with the world.

His follow-up collab with producer Purple Bastard “The 6 Demon Bag” EP is due in 2014, and already has been named one of the 10 Most Anticipated Rap Tapes Of The Year by The Houston Press.

Big Fee – Vader Mean ft. Brown Bomber 313 & Stereo Boyz | Video

Sith in the Streets; The New Big 3 of Detroit. Big Fee, Stereo Boyz and Tha Brown Bomber 313 have joined forces and destroying Al-deron places at the right time, in this new track off Big Fee’s upcoming 2nd album “&ONE Full Metal Emcee”

An artist that has always taken pride in his Southwest Detroit neighborhood, William (Big Fee) Feeley avoided becoming just another statistic by finding his way out of a troublesome street life when he began experimenting with Hip Hop music back in 2002 when he released his first project called “Spazmatic Recess.” Continuously evolving and making a conscious effort to learn different music genres, Big Fee has firmly staked his claim as a clever lyricist and exceptional producer throughout his ten year span on the Michigan music scene.

His newly finished project, respectfully titled ‘23’ (insert Jordan reference here,) is a non-stop ride of 18 tracks appropriately themed and organized to give the listener a concept album that’s just as fun as it is deep and meaningful. Fee has done the production on 17 of the 18 tracks himself, which is a skillful display of hard-hitting bangers spiced up with plenty of ear candy and a meticulous detail that doesn’t sound “over-produced.”

Music lovers and hip hop heads are already comfortable seeing this name around the Detroit scene and are looking forward to seeing Fee’s presence nationally as well. With plans to step on the other side of the microphone and be an asset solely as a producer, Big Fee states “There are some plans in the works I’m not really at liberty to talk about yet. But, I’ve been linking up with a lot of top-tier artists from around my way and sitting through a lot of creative studio sessions, so all I’m gonna say is there’s a lot more than talk goin’ on.”

The album’s Jimmy Edgar remix was premiered via Rolling Stone HERE . “Jimmy Edgar is one of my favorite producers right now,” Ridha tells Rolling Stone. “On his remix he took the funk essence of the original and flipped it to a darker but club-friendlier banger. So killer!”.

In the past year, Boys Noize has toured the US, Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa with his signature SKULL, and performed headline shows at ULTRA, Bonnaroo, HARD Summer and HARD Day Of The Dead. In addition to releasing the GO HARD EP last June, Boys Noize teamed up with Skrillex this year to form the new group Dog Blood and lit up Coachella, Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo and HARD Summer with an electrifying live show. Entertainment Weekly described the Dog Blood debut at Coachella as “the world’s most joyous Satanic ritual. It was mystifying but fascinating—the Sahara Tent became its own congregation complete with everything but the swinging incense.” In September 2013 Dog Blood released the Middle Finger Part II EP (accessible HERE).

It’s as if the song did I’ts thing at one club, grabbed I’ts coat and went to another club across town to take on a new life.” – Matthew Dear / Audion

“When I received the remix request, I knew what I wanted to do immediately – to bring the ‘clowns’ from dark to light, from rap to techno and ready for the dance floor circus!” – Housemeister

The Wãve – Do Right Ü Gain Success (D.R.Ü.G.S)

tream/download Do Right Ü Gain Success (D.R.Ü.G.S) on SoundCloud

Reaching Higher PR | @GatesWave | K. Gates on MTV

Reaching Higher PR presents Big Easy rap standout The Wãve’s brand new single,Do Right Ü Gain Success (D.R.Ü.G.S)”. The anthemic track and video promo are the first media drops from his upcoming album Million Dollar Day due February 2014.

The respected MC, film producer, and budding fashion mogul formerly known as K. Gates flips the D-Boy stereotype on its head. Beyond its seemingly hood glorified connotations, the title represents an alternative chest-beating declaration: Do Right You Gain Success. “I don’t think I’m nobody except myself. I got it out the mud, I ain’t expect no help”, The Wave proclaims over the gloriously turned-up track. This coming from a man who did a stint in federal prison for what he describes as, “A lot of nefarious ill gotten gains”.

The artist has never forgotten his past, but says he continues to move forward. “The Wãve is a title better suiting who I am today. It fits with what I’m doing in music, film and the clothing industry. I’m making Wãves.” The busy lyricist was recently featured in BET’s Music Mattersseries as a member of the hip-hop trio the Rap Pack and performed on the highly-rated 106 & Park. He also turned his attention to the fashion world as a partner in the clothing lineGorgeous Gangster. The buzz heavy street wear has been worn by such rap heavyweights as Future, Waka Flocka Flame, and Jim Jones.

Free EP: QuePac – “QuePac”

From battling alcoholism to an all out swat-ninja assault on Fox News, QuePac’s debut EP explores a dynamic range of styles and content within 5 tracks (and a 6th bonus track which is one of the most brutal diss tracks in years). Though diverse, the project remains unified through its focus on the Brooklyn Wildlife art scene, offering portraits of the lives and ideas of artists bubbling from the Bushwick underground. The production on the EP keeps heads nodding, while the lyrics appeal to lovers of commercial music and hip hop purists alike. While this is QuePac’s first EP, members of QuePac have been featured on Shade45, Kevin Nottingham, 8th Boro, and many other notable blogs and hip hop outlets. The new group can be found at

The EP features production from Tony Bella (Debrah Cox, Paige), July Quin, Double A, No Surrender and 5 Star Beatz, with guest appearances from Shane MauX (of the acclaimed group, Duk Duk Goose), Sharina Marisela, and the infamous DJ duo TeamEviL. Each track’s artwork also features portraits by Eat the Cake NYC (who has worked on photo/film projects with Rex Arrow, Mac Miller, Homeboy Sandman and others).

QuePac is a collaboration between long-time Brooklyn favorites Que Cee and Paco the Dopest Nerd (also from Duk Duk Goose). The team-up sprouted out of the vibrant Bushwick music scene, where some of the most innovative sounds in Brooklyn are emerging, and from which most of their inspiration for this project is drawn. Independently, they have performed shows at major New York venues such as Irving Plaza, Gramercy Theater, Public Assembly, Sullivan Hall, as well as at out of state venues and music festivals like Afro-Punk and StereoTerra.

Documentary: NiiMiDAA- Idle No More

Multitalented Anishinaabe producer, MC and Detroit Raiz Up Collective member, Sacramento Knoxx, has produced a new short documentary, “NiiMiDAA” which translates to ‘Let’s Dance’ in the Anishinaabemowin native language, in support of the Idle No More movement.

Featuring footage from the #RoundDanceRevolution and interviews with artists and organizers including Chantel Henry, Dylan Miner, and Don Lyons, the short film also includes a new music video for Sacramento Knoxx’s anthemic #IdleNoMore-inspired hip-hop track “Dear Vaughn”.

It’s bigger than hip hop, so the doc concludes with footage from Idle No More solidarity rallies held in the Detroit-Windsor areas and provides background and context on this ever-evolving Indigenous resurgence and revitalization movement.

Produced by The Raiz Up Hip Hop Collective in solidarity with Idle No More, ZagaaJibiiSing aka (Detroit-Windsor) is Anishinaabemowin for ‘place that sticks out the river’.

The Raiz Up is a Detroit-based crew that uses hip-hop as a tool to create social awareness in their community through community dialogue, artistic creation and collective action. Combining Indigenous cultural roots with hip-hop connections is all part of their ongoing decolonization work to build community and create art and music:

Native American activism holds a prominent place in the group’s work as well. Most RAIZ UP members identify with indigenous culture and the group actively promotes decolonization, the reclaiming of native language and culture.

Members have dropped Native American banners from buildings, helped organize and document an Idle No More dance at Fairlane Mall, and put together an Ojibwe art installation to decolonize space at a traditional native site in Flint. They’re also interested in raising awareness about an Native American burial mound at Historic Fort Wayne in Southwest Detroit.

“NiiMiDAA” captures the heartbeat of Idle No More with passion and vitality; and Knoxx and his crew make it clear that the spirit of the movement lives on.

Jay Z’s Pittsburgh Performance is Priceless

Would it surprise anyone that a non-rap fan would risk bitter cold temps, running a 101+ temp of his own, and downing some extra special codeine enhanced cough meds to suppress the bronchitis tackling his immune system would risk his general health just to see the music mogul called Jay-Z?  I mean, c’mon, we are talking one of the biggest acts out there today, one of the ‘household namers’ , the mover, the shaker, Mr. Beyoncé, Mr. Beats headphones, “99 Problems” Guy, and yet ticket sales are one? Only roughly 7500 Pittsburghers pre-bought tickets.  Huh?  I don’t even like this type of music and I am out here half dead to see this guy and you aren’t? What gives?

This is Mr. Shawn Carter’s first solo tour in four years, promoting his 12th studio release, “Magna Carta … Holy Grail”.  Creative director Timbaland was on hand commanding the keys/beats and well, creatively directing.  The stage set was truly visually  impressive, at least structurally, a geometric build that was somewhat old-school in it’s inception.  Jay Z hit the stage with “U Don’t Know” and “Crown” and stayed very much in the ‘Magna Carta’ vein for the first half of the show. Being that “Magna Carta … Holy Grail” is up for nine nominations at the Grammy Awards, and Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé are performing Jan. 26 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, maybe that’s the point.

But, it didn’t take long for the old faves and the stuff that made him legend to roll out the goods such as “99 Problems”, “Dead Presidents II”, “Big Pimpin'”, Jigga What, Jigga Who”, “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”, “Empire State of Mind”, “Izzo”, “Hard Knock Life” and “Young Forever” which was dedicated to Nelson Mandela.  If the lack of a crowd was any bother to Mr. Carter, it did not show, he was smiles from the beginning to the end and looked like he was having a blast.  There are many reasons that the man is who he is, and has the rep he does.  He lives up to every one of those expectations and puts on a hell of a show without the need for tons of bells and whistles.
Maybe much of Pittsburgh was not willing to shell out a few dollar,s or brave the cold, or whatever their excuse was to miss the man they call Jigga.  What they missed was an experience to see someone who is a master at his craft perform…which is for many a music fan, priceless.
