The artist, producer and DJ called MiM0SA will head back out on tour in November and December. His music has been explained by others as a genre of it’s own and self-described as Future Trill. His combination of hip-hop beats with futuristic electronic music is a unique blend that has been selling out venues in North America for the past few years.

Born Tigran Mkhitaryan, the Los Angeles-based artist is known for his electrifying live show production, which you can see in a live video shot at Red Rocks HERE.

His live performances have definitely earned him critical acclaim, with SPIN naming him as one of the “Top 10 Acts at Bonnaroo of 2012”. He’s also played to thousands of fans at Coachella, Ultra and Bonnaroo as well as playing throughout North America on this year’s Rock The Bells tour.

Moduloktopus Gives PGHMUSICMAG Some Tasty Treats…

The Dominican Producer Moduloktopus never seems to stop surprising anyone with the skills of flipping any tune he touches inside out. This time he spins the hit from Breach‘s single JACK, off the well known label Dirtybird. After so many House remixes from this track, this music chameleon decides to gift us a slowed down bass heavy version that will still make subwoofers wiggle anybody dancing in front of em and mark a Latin twist on this Moombah/Hip Hop/Bounce genre hybrid he always loves to tag as #ReTwerk.

On this post there’s a tribute to one of Chicago’s most forward thinking bass music producers. Putting together a rare combination of Dominican Future Footwork with a twist of multi-layered Orchestral overtures that sets a solid foundation of eclectic musical tastes, Moduloktopus dedicates this crazy #ReTwerk to the Midwestern master of dance music, Chrissy Murderbot and the culture of Forward Thinking Bass Music that Chicago has inspired the world!

Hollow & Akimbo “Solar Plexus” MP3 Drops w/ Earmilk Today

Solar Plexus’ is sure to give the listener a cerebral perspective on electronic pop music.” Earmilk

Hollow & Akimbo construct a peculiar brand of cerebral electronic pop. With gritty textures layered over intricate arrangements, combined with a special blend of looped rhythms, the duo – Jon Visger & Brian Konicek – have created a collection that is difficult to categorize. Hollow & Akimbo’s debut EP, Pseudoscience, will be released October 1 on Quite Scientific Records.

Recording together at home in basements, bedrooms, attics, and closets, Hollow & Akimbo have amassed an ever-evolving archive of musical snippets, song fragments and a fair share of noisy four track experiments. EP opener “Fever Dreams” is a cinematic cut of moody guitars and punchy drums, churning with an aggressive hip hop swing.

Melancholic vocal harmonies tear through driving guitar and propulsive electronic percussion on “Solar Plexus”. Download the “Solar Plexus” MP3 where it premiered with Earmilk or HERE.

Written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by the band, Pseudoscience is a shining example of Hollow & Akimbo‘s ability to create distinct, intellectual pop. The 4-track EP seamlessly melds soaring emotive vocals over irresistible beats and wiry guitars, all peppered with surprising electronic flourishes.

Australian duo We Are the Brave release their debut EP, Noctua, today. In celebration, they are offering a free MP3 of the EP track “Sparrow”, download it here, please post and share. We Are the Brave were formed when Sydney based singer-songwriter Jess Chalker began to collaborate with underground hip-hop producer Ox Why. The pair of multi-instrumentalists found common ground in adventurous 80s pop, 90s sci-fi, vintage synthesizers, and Australian rock and were inspired to create a contemporary sound that also re-imagines their influences. The anthemic “Sparrow” achieves this and more with a giant chorus and mesmerizing vocal that weave around a driving rhythm and analog synths underscoring the Thelma and Louise style imagery.

We Are the Brave’s debut single “All Good Things Must Come” instantly received radio play across Australia. The band was soon championed by domestic and international blogs, which compared the haunting beauty of their sound to Bat for Lashes married to the classic songwriting of Bruce Springsteen. On Noctua, We Are the Brave exceed the expectations of the single with a transfixing collection of songs that you won’t soon forget.

SELF-TITLED, DEBUT ALBUM OUT OCTOBER 1ST ON IN THE RED;

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR KICKS OFF OCTOBER 2ND

FUZZ is Ty Segall (drums/vocals), Charles Moothart (guitar/vocals), and Roland Cosio(bass), three California-bred, heavy-rock lifers who’ve been refining their riffs together since high school. Formed in/around 2011 as a collaboration between Segall and Moothart (who also plays in the Ty Segall Band), it’s only within the last year that the pair had sufficient time to guide the band out of side-project limbo and into a recording studio. Following singles on Trouble In Mind and In The Red, their self-titled debut LP dives deep, drawing inspiration from the more esoteric reaches of heavy metal pre-history. There are Sabbath and Hendrix nods, obviously, but one might also catch a whiff of UK progressive blues business like The Groundhogs or a glimpse of the ghost of Australian guitar-legend/sharpie guru Lobby Lloyde sniffing around. As evident via album tracks,“What’s In My Head” and the previously shared, “Loose Sutures,” the mood is not light. The songs project a state of perpetual paranoia and eroding mental health. And as it should be, you know? It’s a record for the burners.

FUZZ is out October 1st on In The Red and available for pre-order beginning this Sundaynight, September 15th at www.intheredrecords.com. FUZZ will kick off their North American tour, playing most cities for the very first time, come October 2nd.  Joining Ty (drums/vocals) and Charles (guitar/vocals) will be Chad Ubovich (bass). A full tour schedule is below.

Nomad Carlos ONE

About Nomad Carlos

Changing the way we associate Jamaican music with Reggae and Dancehall is quite the feat, but Miami born, Kingston bred Hip Hop artist Nomad Carlos has climbed his way into the spotlight with his impeccable lyrical flows and grassroots efforts, propelling not only his own music, but the entire Hip Hop genre into the homes of the Caribbean people, and soon the world. The young rapper adds, “I think I have the ability to give a new outlook within the content of Hip Hop music, as I have lived a different life in Jamaica.”

Raised in Kingston from the age of 5, Nomad has officially declared Jamaica his true home, and it is the official birthplace of his rising Hip Hop career. Nomad learned from an early age to divert any negative surrounding him into a positive art form. He started writing lyrics as his way to escape certain influences and make a difference through music, reflecting on personal life experiences while growing up in Kingston to what he experiences around him on a day to day basis.

From early on, Nomad and his original crew would release Hip Hop mixtapes around Jamaica in an effort to be heard. They performed shows all over Kingston and distributed their own mixtapes in the streets which eventually established Nomad as one of Jamaica’s up and coming Hip Hop pioneers. Nomad Carlos went on to release an independent album on his own titled “Fuel To The Fire”. He eventually went on to release mixtapes “Live From Yard” and the most recent “Me Against The Grain” which had gain him a foot in the door of few hip hop blogs and local Jamaican media. Nomad Carlos also recently put out a free EP titled “You’re Most Welcome” which was released as an appreciation to his core fans.

Despite the brewing popularity and street buzz that Nomad and his crew were gaining, the young talent quickly learned that although there was no real market for Hip Hop in Jamaica, the music shall speak for itself. With Reggae and Dancehall dominating the Jamaican music industry, the genre pursued by locals is surely on its way to garnering stardom status.

Nomad Carlos recently released his latest EP titled “You’re Most Welcome”.

FUZZ ANNOUNCE SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM, OUT OCTOBER 1ST 2013 ON IN THE RED, AND FALL TOUR

DOWNLOAD FUZZ’S “LOOSE SUTRES”

FUZZ is the new west coast trio comprised of Charlie Moothart (guitar), Roland Cosio(bass) and Ty Segall (drums, vocals). Ferocious, with a sludgy, psyched-out, proto-metal sound steeped in shredding fuzztone guitar, FUZZ more than lives up to its name. Comparisons to Blue Cheer, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Black Sabbath have been made and are not far off the mark. The band’s two 7″ singles sold out in about ten minutes each, while early live shows caused a frenzy and multiple cases of tinnitus on both coasts. Come October 1st, FUZZ is hitting the road and unleashing their self-titled, debut of the densest of rock ‘n roll via In The Red. Get an early taste of the heavy via FUZZ‘s “Loose Sutres” below.

Drink in My Cup Premiere for Pittsburgh Music Magazine

Innovative and mysterious producers, The Blunt Sinatras, are cross genre creators. Through a cloud of smoke they pull bass music in energetic directions by supplying sounds to take you on an emotional whirlwind and rattle your tympanic membrane. If you are one of the unfortunate few to ever find out their true identities you will immediately be relocated and put into witness protection for the music is far more important than their alter egos.

This Free song screams out the cheers of the Bass driven festive sound of lucid liquor fantasies, 808 thumping calamities, and Dirty South party life. Pouring lean out the speakers to fade out with the song:

Peter Hook & The Light Announce North American Tour Performing New Order’s “Movement” and “Power, Corruption & Lies”

“Hooky is the Rock God of bass players. His performance at North London’s Koko had far more energy than last summer’s Hyde Park show by the rest of New Order. He closed with a triumphant Temptation and the inevitable encore of Blue Monday. You’ve still got it, Hooky.”-The Sun

Peter Hook & The Light, Koko, London, 17.Jan.2013© Al de Perez - All Rights Reserved

Following their sold out debut UK concerts in January 2013, Peter Hook & The Light are to debut their critically acclaimed performances of the first two New Order albums, “Movement” (1981) and “Power, Corruption & Lies” (1983) to North American audiences for the first time in September 2013. Support at all headline dates will come from ‘Slaves of Venus’.

In the first of a string of international dates to be announced for The Light, this nine date run of the United States along with three dates in Canada sees the band return to cities previously visited, as well as some for the first time, and marks their third tour of North America after dates in December 2010 and September 2011 performing Joy Division’s “Unknown Pleasures” and “Closer” albums.

All of the shows feature full performances of both albums in full, sequential order, which has become a hallmark of The Light’s sets, and will also include singles and B-Sides from the corresponding period including “Everything’s Gone Green”, “Temptation” and “Blue Monday” which New Order generally didn’t include on the releases, preferring their LPs to stand alone in comparison to the singles.

Both albums mark the early development of New Order’s sound whilst also, notably on “Movement”, referring back to the Joy Division template. The final album from the band to be produced by Martin Hannett, Movement’s reputation has grown stronger amongst fans since release for its experimentation, Peter Hook taking lead vocals on two of the album’s key tracks, opener “Dreams Never End” and the seminal “Doubts Even Here.”

Some thirty years on from its first release, “Power Corruption & Lies” shows the emergence of what is termed the trademark, archetypal New Order sound and was more enthusiastically received than its predecessor with Rolling Stone terming it “a landmark album of danceable, post-punk music”.

Containing some of the fans persistent live favourites such as “Age Of Consent” and “Your Silent Face”, as well as the much loved album tracks, “586” and “Leave Me Alone” it was this album that cemented New Order’s reputation and showed a cohesiveness and new found confidence emanating from the band.

(On Power, Corruption And Lies): New Order struck upon something both in keeping with the times and notably progressive….a herald of New Order’s second, imperial period of being clued-in electro pioneers” -BBC Online

Tour Dates

September 10 – Paradise Rock Club, Boston, MA
September 13 – Webster Hall, New York City, NY
September 14 – The Trocadero, Philadelphia, PA

Motley Crüe Gives Away Free “Sex”

Motley Crüe is giving away their new single “Sex” for 24 hours. You can get it now here www. motley.com.

From http://www.noisecreep.com:
Before “Sex” hit the airwaves, bassist Nikki Sixx compared the song’s sound to something off Too Fast for Love, Mötley Crüe’s seminal 1981 debut album. Noisecreep asked Lee for his take on the track: “I think Nikki is partially right. It’s got a retro Crüe kind of vibe to it — a simplistic riff. But I also think the song has a modern sound to it. There’s some cool analog synths in it and a beat that is really funky and modern. So I guess you can say that it has a retro yet modern sound.

“Overall, I think that “Sex” sounds like 2012 and that makes me really happy. It turned out killer! Not that I’m not into some retro-sounding stuff, but it is 2012 kids — let’s keep it moving,” says the 49-year-old drummer. “At the end of the day, it’s a great summertime song that’s going to have everybody screaming along to it on this upcoming tour.”

Motley is in Pittsburgh 9/2!
