York, PA heavy rock band SMALL TOWN TITANS have paired front-man Phill Freeman with BLACKTOP MOJO’s Matt James on an extraordinary cover of the TEMPLE OF THE DOG classic hit, “Hunger Strike.”

“The stars aligned with this one. The fact that we were all able to pay tribute to our musical heroes, and record it live off the floor in one of the best studios in the country with two of the best producers in the world is something I think both of our bands can be proud of. We’re really grateful to Matt and Blacktop Mojo for lending their name and talents to this tribute. It was a magical experience.” – Phil Freeman (Vocals)

The Small Town Titans are a power trio from York, PA who love to constantly create, as well as play live. Gone is the notion that a rock band should only release 10 songs at a time every 2 years. In a world where music fans crave new content constantly, the Small Town Titans aim to deliver their brand of art all of the time, drawing inspiration from a new wave of rock bands such as Highly Suspect and Royal Blood, and rock legends such as the Foo Fighters, Audioslave, and Deep Purple. Thanks to their efforts at assembling their own studio in a basement, STT can create and release songs, podcasts, live online concerts, and more with no rules. This artistic change in attitude stems from touring for the better part of 2 years, and realizing how difficult it really is.

After coming home from their last 30 day run, the band had made $4,000. After repairing their vehicle, restocking their merchandise and more, the band was left with $1,000. After putting most of that back into the band’s funds as usual, each member took home $150. This startling reality made STT take a step back and evaluate themselves as a band, a brand, and a business. After firing their manager, the boys soldiered on with the help of their team at Round 2 Records. They began to truly treat Small Town Titans as a legitimate small business more than ever before. Unnecessary expenses were cut, and more creative and innovative sources of new revenue were explored, such as utilizing the direct to fan creation platform Patreon, where the band is currently making $200 every time they release a new song on YouTube.

Instead of trying to make a million fans, STT is focusing on the fans they already have. With a love for playing live, a Small Town Titans show has evolved into more than a concert. It’s an event, with a set list that’s decided right before the show, and plenty of stage banter in between songs. The band simply hits the stage to deliver an energy driven show using guitars, drums, and their voices. Nothing more, nothing less. This approach to their live performances has led to them sharing the stage with acts such as Highly Suspect, Papa Roach, Black Stone Cherry, Pop Evil, and more.

By focusing on their engagement on social media and managing themselves, Small Town Titans are growing like never before and having more success as a business and a brand. The band just wrapped up a weekend long recording session at Hybrid Studios with friend Kevin Soffera, drummer for Seether on the 5x platinum selling record “Disclaimer II”, and who STT also recorded their last album “Reflection” with. Six brand new songs were recorded live in the studio, as well as professionally filmed by Springwood Productions at the same time. These new songs and videos will be released throughout the rest of 2017 and 2018. Songs range from the hard hitting “Me, Myself, and Monster” and “Wreck” to the ballad “Dragonfly”, an emotional song written in memory of Phil’s mother, who passed away earlier this year due to cancer, performed live with just one voice and an acoustic guitar.

Small Town Titans are actively forming a team of like minded individuals in the new music business who are just as driven and passionate as they are, rather than waiting to be discovered. As the band continues to grow their fan base online this year, they will also hit the road, this time with a smarter game plan, a stronger fan base, and a passionate team behind them. November 28, 2017 (Burbank, CA) – Liam Gallagher‘s debut solo tour of the U.S. has been nothing short of a triumph. The Nearly Deads @Diesel on May 14th

Nashville based rock band called The Nearly Deads  will be releasing a new EP, Revenge of The Nearly Deads, on May 26th. The band is currently supporting the new record on tour which will include a show inPittsburgh at Diesel on May 14th.

The band is self-described as sounding like “Halestorm meets the Foo Fighters, with Courtney Love at the helm, if she could wail like Kelly Clarkson.” I think that description hits the nail on the head. This band is very fun! Check out their video for “My Evil Ways” which was released last fall:

The band exploded in 2011 with a video for their song “Never Look Back” which has gone on to garner 7.6 Million views. Since then the band has been on a steady rise performing alongside bands like IN This Moment, Halestorm and more. The new EP, is lining up to be a massive break for the band and I’d love to see if you’d be into being a part of their trajectory.
Watch the new video for “Diamond In The Rough”:
Based in the music mecca of Nashville TN, The Nearly Deads emit polished grit. Mixing the powerful pop vocals of singer Theresa Jeane with the aggressive grunge-inspired instrumentals of Steve Tobi, Javier Garza, Josh Perrone, and Kevin Koelsch, the band has managed to create a truly unique genre that not only gives a nod to gritty grunge, but brings it back in a way never heard before.
Evidence of this musical evolution came to fruition in the form of a breakthrough track called “Never Look Back”. Armed with a Zombie-infused music video that skyrocketed past 7 million views, NLB finds TND scratching the surface of a sound that fully comes into focus on their 11-song debut album, Invisible Tonight, available now!
From studio to stage to the written page, The Nearly Deads continue to forge a new path dotted by passion, charisma, talent, hard work, and messages of positivity and empowerment. The band’s genuine nature and generosity towards their supporters has fueled the ascension of their “Zombie Nation” of fandom.
Crowned victors in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and a Converse Battle of the Bands competition, the band tours incessantly, with slots at prestigious festivals such as Vans Warped Tour, Summerfest, PrideFest and Journeys Backyard BBQ matched by shows with Halestorm, All-American Rejects, and a 2015 run on the Black Widow Tour with In This Moment, Butcher Babies, and Upon A Burning Body. This constant stream of success and activity has led to airplay on MTVu, MTV Hits, FUSE, BlankTV, Verizon FiOS and Vevo; features in Absolute Punk, Alt Press, ARTISTdirect, Outburn, PureVolume, Revolver, Rock Confidential and Substream and a #14 spot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound Chart.

Queens of the Stone Age and Dave Grohl Reunite?

This picture on QOTSA’s Facebook sure piqued a lot of interest. With Josh Homme confirming that drummer Joey Castillo out, seems Dave might be taking advantage of Foo Fighters extended hiatus. Remember Grohl played on the band’s 2002 album, Songs for the Deaf (and did limited touring until Joey took over). Of course there is that other “small” band with Led Zep great JP Jones and Homme in Them Crooked Vultures. It would not surprise anyone that Dave is back behind the kit, never being one to sit still. Look for QOTSA’s new CD to be out by June before the Download Festival.

FEAR Reworks The Record To Create The FEAR Record

FEAR is an American Punk Rock Band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1977, credited for influencing the American punk rock movement. Along with SEX PISTOLS , FEAR helped define the sound and style of Post, Neo-Punk, Jazz-Thrash-Fusion and theoretical physics! Although they actually formed during the first wave of punk back in 1977, FEAR didn’t release an album until two years later- by which time they’d honed a blistering, thrashy attack that, for all its fury, was surprisingly tight and even intricate.

Musically, the band wasn’t as crude as frontman Lee Ving’s outrageous, humorously offensive lyrics, which were geared to piss off anyone within earshot; might have had you believe. His intellectualism was equaled only by his “sincere love of beer.”

The band has continued to be active since 1978, most recently with the release of The FEAR Record. FEAR’s November 6, 2012 worldwide release of The FEAR Record will be supported by performances worldwide. Since FEAR began recording in 1979, bands such as A Perfect Circle, Soundgarden, Megadeth, Sacred Reich and Guns N’ Roses have covered their songs, a new collaboration with Lee Ving and the Foo Fighters called The Sound City Players is also slated for fall release. Future plans involve forays into presidential politics, quantum physics, Lee is a registered Quantum Mechanic, and a post-Newtonian, sub-atomic particle, probability based, theoretical physics, guide- lined peaceful world, with liberty and justice for all.
