Spearfish, SD based electronic alternative rock act Blacklite District has released the official music video for “Hard Pill to Swallow,” the lead single off of their upcoming 4th album, Through the Ages. Originally premiered on Billboard, “Hard Pill to Swallow” was filmed outside the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center in Anaheim, CA by DZFX Media.

“We worked with DZFX Media in Southern California on the video. I literally ran into him at Guitar Center while I was picking up something for our studio sessions for the new album. We started talking right there at the counter and ended up shooting three videos that week, with ‘Hard Pill to Swallow’ being the first.” – Kyle Pfeiffer

Blacklite District has experienced a meteoric rise over the past several months, with their YouTube following edging near 100,000 in less than a year and their wildly popular Minecraft videos–“Cold As Ice” and “The Struggle”–garnering around 70 million views cumulatively. Says Kyle, “I work with multiple major YouTube channels that promote my music to a huge worldwide audience. It’s been amazing as an independent artist of this generation to reach an audience of this size.” As a result of their rapidly expanding youth audience, the duo has seen incredible online sales and Spotify streams and playlistings, as well as significant Mainstream Rock Songs Billboard charting.

Blacklite District follows no rules. With sounds of everything from electronic, EDM and hip hop, to hard rock and alternative, the band truly stands out from the pack of what has becomes today’s generic sounding “Active Rock”. Formed in 2012 by Kyle Pfeiffer and Roman James, ages 12 and 11 respectively, the band grew organically in their local music scene through the years to come. In 2011, BLD was discovered by Grammy Award-winning producer, Stephen Short (Paul McCartney, Queen), which resulted in a 10 day recording session at the world’s largest residential recording studio, Sonic Ranch, just outside of Mexico in Tonillo, TX. The group re-located to Los Angeles and played some of the most famous venues in the world for the remainder of 2011.

In 2013, the group released “With Me Now” as the lead from it’s debut album Worldwide Controversy. “With Me Now” immediately went to #1 on SiriusXM channels Octane and Faction, hit the Top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart (#32), and sold 100,000 copies. BLD went on a very successful US tour with Saving Abel in Jan-Apr 2014, with 26 of those shows SOLD OUT. After a legal battle with their management and record label, Blacklite District went on hiatus in late 2014.

On August 23, “The Struggle” was release to radio and To Whom It May Concern went for pre-order at digital retailers. Revolver Magazine premiered the music video for “The Struggle” on August 25. The band also announced a 41 date tour called “The Struggle Is Real Tour”. Blacklite District released a Nightcore remix of “The Struggle” to YouTube on September 6, which got over 2,000,000 plays and resulted in the single breaking the Top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Indicator chart at #36.

One month later, on October 6, the group released a Nightcore remix of “We Are The Danger” which got over 400,000 plays on YouTube. A couple of weeks later, the band released “Broken Souls” to radio, as well as a Nightcore remix which resulted in 500,000 plays and hitting #30 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator. This was the second song in the month of October to break the Top 40 (along with “The Struggle.”)

“The Ghost of You and Me” was released as a music video and a Nightcore remix on December 28, 2016. The song was yet again a success for Blacklite District resulting in 400,000.

On January 20, 2017, BLD released “Living In A Nightmare” as the first single from upcoming album Instant Gratification. With a coinciding Nightcore release, “Living In A Nightmare” broke the Top 25 on the BDS Indicator chart, marking the bands highest spot in chart history. The song has been streamed over 250,000 times.

On February 24, famed radio DJ Lou Brutus posted the bands video for “Cold As Ice”, which was released the same day. The song scored a whopping 350,000 streams in its first week alone, and as of May 2017, has over 3.5 million combined views on YouTube. “Cold As Ice” serves as the second single from Instant Gratification. In the summer of 2017, “Cold As Ice” was added to Spotify’s “Rock Hard” playlist, and was put into rotation on SiriusXM’s alternative channel Faction. In October, “Cold As Ice” was added to rotation on SiriusXM Octane, and it’s Minecraft music video has over 10 million views on YouTube. There are about 4 videos about a Herobrine invasion with zombies and “nether watchers” and how the main character, a player in a blue suit, survives. There are 4 songs in total in the order of The Struggle, Cold as Ice, We are the Danger (possibly not from Blacklite District), and Just so you Know.

Blacklite District released their third album Instant Gratification on September 22, going Top 10 on Amazon’s Top Electronic Albums chart.

ERA9 Releases Official Music Video for “Black Widow (Tick Tock)”

Trap Rock Band ERA9 has released the official music video for “Black Widow (Tick Tock).” Directed by Jona Dhe Paganon, “Black Widow (Tick Tock)” is off of the band’s Gravity LP.

“We wanted to make heads turn with our DIY video production of our song Black Widow. The track is essentially about an unhealthy relationship, only we spiced it up a little by putting a dark Sweeney Todd vibe to the story. The cute, crazy & deranged barber-lady has a line up of men waiting to get their beards trimmed; one of the men in-line has a certain charisma that pulls them together. What she does with the men post beard trim, honours her title as cute, crazy & deranged. So prepare your teacups and press play on the video to find out :)” – ERA9

“Era 9 emit masses of personality and diversity in their music, which makes them so appealing and unique to listen to. They hypnotize you and take you on a journey of diverse sounds and beats that cover every end of the spectrum. ‘Gravity‘ is an album of risks and self-discovery that focuses on the future of music; it’s a confusing mix of genres, but Era 9 somehow make it work.” – Broken Arrow Magazine

Track List:
1. Ammunition
2. Warrior
3. Gravity
4. Bare Bones
5. Earthquake
6. Hero
7. Money Talk
8. Like That
9. Black Widow (Tick Tock)
10. Haunt Your Monsters
11. Scripture

If there was a band in the world that breaks the barriers and labels that genres and the music industry place upon the listener’s and critic’s brains, Era9 takes a wrecking ball and destroys those barriers. They don’t discriminate toward any musical genre, but feel an attraction towards uniting them.

Drawing from the future rather than the past, ERA9 merge Rock, Hip-Hop and EDM to create their own unique sonic architecture, which they dub “TrapRock”

RAGELIFE brings Hip Hop, EDM, and funk sounds together on their debut project that is the perfect soundtrack for a party. While the first single “Let Me Go” is a smoother, trippy interpretation of the woes of monogamy, it is also a great depiction of the trio’s talent and their fun loving attitude. The self-titled EP is scheduled to drop August 2013 with a video for the second single “Champagne Range” Featuring Milwaukee Artist Klassik set to drop July 2013. RAGELIFE consists of Karl “¡OYE!” Iglesias, Andrew “P/1” Thomas, and Ian “DJ *hitmayng” Carroll, who met while attending The University of Wisconsin, a top five Party school for the last four years according to Playboy. Although all of the members bring their own influences and vision, they meet at the common ground with RAGELIFE; a way to describe the intense battle of hard work, constant energy, all while having the time of your life.

Wolf Colony is Bridging the Gap

You have got to check out Wolf Colony.  These guys are definitely destined to be on everyone’s iPod and summer hit list pronto.  They may have started out not looking for super stardom, but destiny and fate have a funny way of intervening…

Wolf Colony is an electro-pop music duo based out of Miami and New York City. Comprising of singer-songwriter seventhleopard and music producer Neal Sarin, the duo began collaborating together in college at the University of Miami with no intention of having their music reach the masses.

After an intensive week of recording sessions in New York City, it was clear that Wolf Colony was far greater than the sum of its parts. The concoction of powerful vocals and lyrical depth complementing unique and engaging soundscapes simply could not be ignored. Check out their debut singles, “Beauty” and “Calling” now on Soundcloud and stay tuned for their upcoming album dropping this year.

Wolf Colony are beginning their quest to redefine underground electronica with the forthcoming EP project entitled Beauty. On  April 2nd electro-pop duo Wolf Colony digitally released the long-awaited singles, “Beauty” and “Calling” through iTunes and Spotify.

Entirely written and produced by members seventhleopard and Neal Sarin, Wolf Colony’s Beauty is a  unique progression of electronic pop music through the beautiful vocals of seventhleopard and Sarin’s one-of-a-kind production. The duo is focused on creating timeless music that bridges the gap between mainstream and underground electronica.

“I knew we were on to something as soon as I sent the first few instrumentals to seventhleopard. Within an hour, he sent them all back but with fully recorded verses and hooks. It was something special. We booked the first studio session that night,” says Neal Sarin.

The two singles are just an introduction to Wolf Colony’s contribution to the new era of electronica, as they plan to release a full-length LP just in time for summer.
