Echosmith: The Bands’ Band at Warped Tour

Alternative Press calls them one of the 100 Bands You Need To Know.  Forever The Sickest Kids said they are ‘The Bands Band at Warped Tour’.  I would call them some of the most seasoned young adult musicians I’ve ever met.  Listen to them talk about their experience with me here…Echosmith (click once then click attachment)

Formed in February of 2009 in Southern California, Echosmith is composed of four siblings ranging from 14 to 20 years old: Graham, Sydney, Noah, and Jamie Sierota.  According to Wikipedia, The Sierota siblings were raised in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles.  The three brothers and one sister grew up in a musical household playing multiple instruments throughout their childhood. The band says that a range of rock artists including Coldplay, The Smiths, U2, Joy Division, and Fleetwood Mac influenced them while growing up and encouraged them to make music together. Echosmith’s youngest member, Graham, is now 14 years old and plays drums. The only female member of the group, Sydney, is 16 years old and is the lead vocalist for the band, often contributing on guitar. The second oldest member, Noah, is 17 years old, singing and playing bass for the band. The oldest member is Jamie at 20 years old, who sings and plays guitar.

Having signed with no less than Warner Brothers and having worked with famed producer Rob Cavallo these guys have got major fire power and seem to be headed on an upward trajectory right quick.  Their set at warped Tour in Pittsburgh was fantastic and had a nice blend of pop sensibility without being a cheesy affair.  In other words their songs had personality and long term capabilities of musicianship unlike many young artists.  Do yourself a favor and check out their three song sampler on their web site: http://summer.echosmith.com/
