Deconstruct In Search of New Front-Man!

The story runs deep with Deconstruct. An aggressive, in your face, heavy rock/modern metal band comprised of the brutal, grungy groove oriented guitar riffs of Joe Fraulob (ex-Danzig), the powerful, deep, head-spinning bass lines of Bobby Real (ex-Dedvolt), the bone crushing drums of Tom Frost (ex-Luxt) and vocalist MC Droze’s intense growling and often melodic vocals. Yeah, this band has got it going on … A solid timeline of success, expanded musicianship and continually evolving into a “Post Apocalyptic” Metal genre!

Deconstruct is currently seeking a new front-man to fill the void after original singer Droze moved to another state. MC Droze will be missed and his latest contribution to the soon to be released LP Ashen Empire is nothing short of incredible. “We wish him the best with all his endeavors,” says Fraulob. The full-length album has been recorded, engineered and produced by Joe Fraulob, and mixed by top renowned industry pro, Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios (TestamentMachine Head). Management has been secured under Frankie James (Culture Rock). Professional videos have also been produced by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art (see video for “Machine” below) and award winning film-maker Josh Pierson and are ready to be released once the timing is right!

The Deconstruct foundation can be traced to guitarist Joe Fraulob’s 2001 courtship with Columbia Records, when his prior band, Side-Swipe, was targeted by the A&R team of John Weakland (Union Underground) and the legendary John Kalodner (Aerosmith). Once the label threw Side-Swipe into the mix of different producers and spent upwards of $30,000 on demos, the band knew they were on to something big. Ultimately, Columbia felt the demos that Fraulob produced at his own studio were the best, which gave Fraulob and the band the confidence to trust their instincts musically, and to fight for their own path. This gave way to the birth of Deconstruct with Fraulob writing for his new project to include an uncompromising vision for a new sound – dark and heavy yet melodic and dynamic – ready for the radio, but powerful enough to crush skulls in a live setting. Fraulob recorded the first Deconstruct demo at his own studio the Pus Cavern where Fraulob had spent the last decade developing his engineering chops recording Sacramento heavyweights such as The Deftones and began to send this demo out to industry pros. After hearing the demo, David Draiman and Dan Donegan of Disturbed personally chose Deconstruct as opener for their Music As A Weapon 2 tour where Deconstruct’s first show was opening for Disturbed, Chevelle, and Taproot in front of an audience of 5000. Immediately, the band’s prowess as a live act was recognized, and Bill Graham Presents placed the band on several amphitheater shows (Iron MaidenDio, and Motorhead at Sleep Train Amphitheater; and Def Leppard at Irvine Meadows). While building their reputation as one of the West Coast’s most hard hitting live acts, Deconstruct began making headway in the world of Rock Radio. The band’s debut EP “Sign Of Things To Come” received play nationwide, enabling Deconstruct to expand their touring base. The work paid off, resulting in more high profile shows with a diverse array of acts including NickelbackPuddle of MuddDrowning PoolDeath AngelHelmet, and Hed PE. The band’s second EP, a sampler of tracks from their forthcoming album, received radio play on over 100 stations. The single “Time Kills” was added to heavy rotation on commercial station WOBX (98X) in North Carolina. Deconstruct also became the only unsigned band to ever receive play on KRXQ in Sacramento’s “Smash or Trash” receiving a 100% listener “Smash” rating. Deconstruct was definitely on the rise and was then chosen by multi-platinum act Korn as main stage openers for the Korn, Chevelle, and Breaking Benjamin concert at Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA. After 2 successful U.S. tours promoting the first Deconstruct album The Human Condition, Fraulob joined the legendary multi-platinum act Danzig as touring lead guitarist for an incredible 2 year run after which Deconstruct took a hiatus. In 2017 Fraulob joined the legendary Bay Area Metal group Trauma and ended up producing and recording their 2019 album As The World Dies. Recording and touring with Trauma inspired Fraulob to reboot Deconstruct to record a new album then to follow up with more main-stage appearances. The crushing new album, Ashen Empire, features long-time Deconstruct members Fraulob, drummer Tom Frost, and vocalist MC Droze, with additional appearances by drummers Darren Minter (Heathen) and Kris Gustofson (Trauma), and bassist Greg Christian (Testament).

Which brings us to the present, 2021 sees Deconstruct with the strongest, hardest hitting, most talented line-up yet. With Fraulob at the helm with his brutal guitar mastery, the thundering super bassist Bobby Real and one of the best drummers in NorCal, Tom Frost, on board, Deconstruct is firing on all cylinders. All three bring their extensive experience to the table to create a sound that is current but unique, extremely heavy yet mesmerizingly melodic and memorable. There’s no doubt success will once again be risen out of the ashes!! A pro studio and practice room has been built, a new album recorded and mastered, extensive press ready to go out and Deconstruct is tour ready!

However, with the loss of their singer MC Droze, this greatness can’t continue until that void is replaced, so Deconstruct is now placing a call to action to all professional “qualified & stage seasoned” vocalists to front this dynamically structured band. Qualified applicants respond at the email below to arrange an audition.

Imagine all the elements of a category 5 hurricane, and right in the middle of that storm is the most beautiful sunset… that’s The Clay People.

Whether it’s seeing a live show, or just listening to TCP, there’s a connection made very quickly between band and audience. A sense of comfort, knowing if you had a rough day, or are feeling down, that you can count on TCP to take you away from all that

The Clay People return on Demon Hero and Other Extraordinary Phantasmagoric Anomalies & Fables, an album that captures the band at a creative peak, and was forged from what was at times a tenuous, cathartic, and finally unifying recording process.

On Demon Hero Neet takes on the corrupting influence of modern politics, the silver tongue of the modern demagogue, the ills of groupthink, and the band’s experience with the music industry. “I’ve been plagiarized. I’ve been beat up. I’ve been manipulated… .And we’ve got nothing left to lose,” Neet confesses on the anthem “Bloodletter.”.

The Clay People’s self-titled album was released on Mercury/Slipdisc records, and their furiously propulsive lead single “Awake” climbed the radio charts. The band toured with Disturbed, Stained, Clutch, Rob Zombie, Static X, Stabbing Westward, and Filter.

“Awake” was featured in films such as Strangeland, Universal Soldier 2, and Marked For Death.

The band called in extended members of its musical family to contribute to Demon Hero. Chris Wyse of The Hollywood Vampires, Ace Frehly, The Cult, and OWL, contributed bass to the band’s reinterpretation of fan favorite “Strange Day” and “Gen RX.”. Walter Flakus of Stabbing Westward, and one-time Clay People member, contributed keys. Wade Alin, who added programming to the band’s self titled release, returns on Demon Hero.

Dinsmore and McGarvey produced the album, turning to producer Neil Kernon (Nile, Queensrcyche, and Nevermore) for the final mix.

HELEN MONEY: Track From Remastered Vinyl Edition Of Arriving Angels Currently Streaming At Cvlt Nation

Newly launched vinyl imprint, Corpse Flower Records, recently unveiled the stunning limited edition vinyl pressing of HELEN MONEY‘s critically-adored third full-length, Arriving Angels.

Initially released on Profound Lore Records last year, Arriving Angels was recorded by iconoclastic sound sage Steve Albini at Electrical Audio Studio, mastered by Collin Jordan at Boiler Room and embraces any number of sounds and references – organic, ambient doom à la SunnO))), prismatic noise/post-rock evoking Sonic Youth and Rachel’s, new-music minimalism spanning Górecki to Branca, sinister orchestral trills that would make Bernard Herrman pause – all the while becoming none of them, creating a new whole out of HELEN MONEY (that is, Alison Chesley)’s distinct point of view.

While HELEN MONEY has traditionally consisted of Chesley performing primarily solo, on Arriving Angels she’s joined on various tracks by Neurosis drummer/percussionist Jason Roeder who provides the album’s revelation, taking HELEN MONEY‘s sound, already ominous and penetrating, into unheard dimensions of power. Corpse Flower Records’ edition of the otherworldly Arriving Angels is remastered for vinyl only furthering the record’s overwhelming beauty.

In honor of its release, Cvlt Nation is currently streaming “Radio Recorders,” featuring Roeder behind the drum kit. Said Cvlt Nation of the release overall, “Arriving Angels is a curious record and houses some truly dissonant moments within the occasional melodies that can be found. It’s quite a minimal album at times and sounds and echoes filter through passages of extreme quiet or intense loudness with nary a warning as to what may, or may not happen next.”

Check it out “Radio Recorders,” in all its sprawling glory at

Alison Chesley is a cellist who has become known for her adventurous sound, bold compositions, and compelling stage performance. Called, “A classical-cellist-turned-avant-metal virtuoso,” by the Boston Phoenix, Chesley channels her sensibilities and experience as a rock musician through a classical instrument, altering both genres without apology. She has played on over 150 albums with artists such as Disturbed, Bob Mould, Mono, Anthrax, Broken Social Scene, Russian Circles, and Archer Prewitt among others.

Corpse Flower Records is a brand new label from the Detroit, Michigan area. Specializing in releasing limited edition vinyl editions of albums that are either out-of-print or have never been released in vinyl form.

Arriving Angels features gorgeous artwork and design by Stephan Byram and will be available in a limited pressing of 300 copies on orange wax. Order your copy today at THIS LOCATION.

“Alison Chesley [aka Helen Money] brings her classical training on cello into realms occupied by heavy metal extremists and guitar deities. Nobody rocks a cello like Alison Chesley.” – Chicago Tribune

“[Helen Money’s] raw, minimalist stylings make her the lo-fi Xasthur to Apocalyptica’s Dimmu Borgir bombast.” – Decibel Magazine

“[Helen Money] conjures up truly majestic music from her bow. Lovers of modern minimalists, of folk music, and of doom metal should all find something to thrill here.” – Los Angeles City Beat

Helen Money not so much plays the cello as she makes it her bitch, forcing out noises from her poor instrument in ways that would make classical aficionados cringe. Interestingly (and fortunately), she chooses to make ambient doom music with her skill set and with the enlistment of Neurosis drummer Jason Roeder, Arriving Angels dark atmosphere is palpable, painted literally by the brush of the artist.” – Sputnik Music

Helen Money’s bare aesthetic is one which serves the composition incredibly well.  That thing just below the surface on this record remains unnamed for me.  Safe to say that the open-ended questions which Chesley’s cello poses in those equal parts sinister and stunning notes go unanswered in the best of ways.” – Steel For Brains

Fight Or Flight @ The Altar Bar

Wednesday August 7th 2013 Fight Or Flight hit The Altar Bar with tour mates Mindset Evolution on their first US tour supporting the release of their first album ” A Life By Design”. Fight or Flight is made up Dan Donegan (guitar) Mike Wengren (drums) both formerly of Disturbed, and Dan Chandler (vocals) from Evans Blue. After Disturbed announced in 2012 they would be taking a break, it left everyone wondering what will the band members do now? After being on stage for so long and constantly touring and recording one would think it would be pretty hard to just stop.  That was exactly the case with Dan Donegan. Boredom set in and he starting to miss recording and touring so he reached out to Evans Blue member Dan Chandler. Having no plan with the direction of a band they just sat down and starting writing and things just clicked. Their first single “First of The Last” was an instant success and really set the tone for things to come for this group. Their performance was energy packed and had something special about it. Seeing groups being formed from other successful bands really adds something different to live performances. It could be just how everything just seems so natural to everyone no matter what style or genre they came from before. Fight Or Flight surprised everyone when they busted out a cover Sober by Tool and later in the set the classic “Man In The Box” by Alice In Chains. They also mixed it up a bit by adding some acoustic songs throughout which was pretty different. Overall the whole night was solid with amazing sets from each band.

CARNIVAL OF MADNESS Featuring EVANESCENCE, CHEVELLE, HALESTORM and NEW MEDICINE

CARNIVAL OF MADNESS, the annual touring rock extravaganza, will make its roaring return with rock titans EVANESCENCE, CHEVELLE, HALESTORM and NEW MEDICINE. Kicking off Tuesday, July 31 in Springfield, IL, the 2012 trek will hit major cities across the U.S. including Boston, Baltimore, Atlanta, Nashville, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh (see full itinerary below). Select radio pre-sale tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, May 22; Carnival of Madness fan club members can begin purchasing tickets Wednesday, May 23; artist fan club pre-sales start Thursday, May 24; and general public on-sale begins Friday, June 1. Please note that Halestorm will be performing on the majority of the tour. For more information on purchasing tickets, visit http://carnivalofmadness.com/.
EVANESCENCE has sold more than 25 million records worldwide with more than 10 million in the U.S. alone. The band’s global, Top 10 hit singles “Bring Me To Life” and “My Immortal”–off their 2003 major-label debut Fallen (Wind-up Records)–led the group to two Grammy Awards (Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bring Me To Life”). Propelling the band to sales of more than 15 million albums worldwide, Fallen spent over 100 weeks on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and was certified gold or platinum in over 35 countries. The band’s follow up was 2006’s The Open Door, which sold more than 6 million copies worldwide and spawned the hit “Call Me When You’re Sober.” In October of 2011, they released their highly anticipated third studio album Evanescence, which marked the band’s first album in five years and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 album charts. The newly released album has spawned hit tracks “What You Want,” “Made Of Stone,” and “My Heart Is Broken.” Check out the video for “My Heart Is Broken” which has been viewed over 5 million times online: http://youtu.be/f1QGnq9jUU0.
“We’re really looking forward to the Carnival of Madness tour this summer. We love Chevelle and haven’t hit the road together in years, and I’m really stoked to finally be playing some shows with Halestorm. Naturally I’m a fan of strong women in music and Lzzy’s voice is spectacular,” said front woman AMY LEE about the upcoming tour.
EVANESCENCE is AMY LEE (vocals, piano), TERRY BALSAMO (guitar), TROY MCLAWHORN (guitar), TIM MCCORD (bass) and WILL HUNT (drums). For more information, please visit their website, http://www.evanescence.com.
Platinum-selling alternative hard rock trio CHEVELLE–PETE LOEFFLER (Guitars, Vocals), SAM LOEFFLER (Drums) and DEAN BERNARDINI (Bass, Vocals)–released their latest and sixth full-length album Hats Off To The Bull (Epic Records) late 2011. The album debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #19 and is being hailed as one of the finest albums of the band’s long and successful career. The explosive debut single, “Face To The Floor,” dominated the rock charts, claiming the #1 spot at Active Rock for 13 weeks. With a hypnotic and grinding riff, the song rails against the corporate corruption of Bernie Madoff and Wall Street and is a testament to the band’s songwriting prowess and eternal knack for a hit. The Chicago group’s latest single “Hats Off To The Bull” is following the same trajectory, shooting up the Active Rock chart, currently occupying the #3 position. A newly released video for the title track can be seen here: http://youtu.be/4MRLd1Cgbdg.
Pennsylvania quartet HALESTORM returned in April 2012 with their second full-length, The Strange Case of…. (Atlantic Records) after scoring two top 10 singles (“I Get Off” and “It’s Not You”) from their self-titled debut album and touring steadily with acts as diverse as Shinedown, Stone Sour, Disturbed, Megadeth, Papa Roach, Godsmack and countless others. Musically diverse and emotionally revealing, the album resonates with a newfound poignancy that takes HALESTORM–frontwoman LZZY HALE, drummer AREJAY HALE, guitarist JOE HOTTINGER and bassist JOSH SMITH–to a new level of creative achievement. The first single “Love Bites (So Do I)” is a storming rocker that illustrates frontwoman LZZY HALE’s individuality, sense of humor, and willingness to represent young women in today’s fast-paced society. The massive hit reached the Top Spot at Active Rock and is currently #2. Watch the official video here: http://youtu.be/FmkHqUwa4zg.
NEW MEDICINE–JAKE SCHERER (Vocals), DAN GARLAND (Guitar), MATTHEW BRADY (Bass) and RYAN GUANZON (Drums)–injects a little hope into hard rock on their debut album, Race You To The Bottom (Photo Finish Records). Each song tells a story, whether it’s about the loss of a loved one on “Little Sister” or the state of the world on “Race You To The Bottom.” “Laid,” the album’s first single, examines relationship troubles with a combination of wit and wisdom. The song is a propulsive lovelorn rocker that sugarcoats nothing. Scherer, who co-wrote the song with producers S*A*M & Sluggo, reveals, “It’s about an experience with a girl who’s the ultimate wild child. She gets under your skin, drives you totally crazy and she’s gone.” Their latest track at radio, “Race You To The Bottom,” has gone on to sell over 11,000 copies and the video for the song, which recently debuted on AOL’s Noisecreep, can be seen here: http://youtu.be/VjxE2RTevMQ.
