NO FLAG (RAOUL KERR – BLOODYWOOD) Set to Unite with “Raise No Flag”!

No description available.

India based Indie Hip Hop band NO FLAG, led by bombastic rap artist Raoul Kerr (Bloodywood), has released the third and final single, “Raise No Flag,” off of their debut EP, The Guerrilla Games.

Player

The movement uses music videos to unite people for a cause, with the help of individuals and organizations that offer real world solutions, and the strength of an audience ready to help; No Flag is ultimately going to go beyond the music to create a long lasting, real world impact.

Their latest video “Raise No Flag” is a rallying cry for the world to continue to work together after we overcome COVID19. It’s an international call to arms against the climate emergency and every global injustice faced by humanity today. It also marks the Official Launch of the No Flag movement.

No Flag - Guerilla Games 01 - Press 05

The Guerrilla Games is a three track EP by Raoul Kerr. It derives its name from “guerrilla warfare” which is “the engagement in a war fought by small groups of irregular soldiers against typically larger regular forces”. In the context of the EP it describes the nature of the No Flag movement as a digital army of people across the world that is using pop culture, the internet and focused mass action to dismantle the current system that serves a few, in order to create a new system that benefits everyone.

The first track, “Exhale,” draws attention to the air pollution crisis of New Delhi and is an appeal to the government to take serious action.

Exhale

The second track, “The Nation Needs To Know,” uses a rabid news anchor to highlight the systemwide corruption of India that extends beyond politics, and is a call to action for everybody to take responsibility and build a better nation.

The Nation Needs to Know

The third and final track, “Raise No Flag,” marks the launch of the No Flag movement. It is a rallying cry for the world to continue to work together after we defeat COVID19 as well as an international call to arms against the climate emergency and every global injustice faced by humanity today. The EP highlights different levels of an individual’s responsibility. The three songs progress from issues at state level, to national and then international level. The message is that we have to work together at all three levels in order to comprehensively reshape the world. This EP is a blueprint for the movement.

ZARAGOZA Reinvigorates the Holidays with “Gypsy Christmas”

81NTt7kKOKL. SS500

LA Based Singer / Songwriter ZARAGOZA has released his refreshingly minimalist official music video for his new single, “Gypsy Christmas.” Originally premiered on mxdwn, “Gypsy Christmas” is the artist’s first original release since his Billboard charting debut EP, Child of The Sun.

“Christmas has always been my favorite Holiday and the modern commercialism of it can make it stressful which is the opposite of what its about. This song is about getting away from that modern commercialism.” – ZARAGOZA

Player

“Thanksgiving’s over and if you’ve turned on your car radio, entered a department store, or watched a minute of network television, you’ll know it’s officially Christmastime. If you already need a break from the cliche overload of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ and ‘Last Christmas,’ we have the perfect song for your holiday playlist. Today, we’re excited to premiere the new single from Zaragoza called ‘Gypsy Christmas.’” – Matt Matasci – mxdwn

“Instead of screaming about what’s wrong in the world, I’m singing about what’s right,” says Zaragoza. For audiences who have only witnessed his ferocious performances with the Hollywood-based metal band Sinicle, the concept of Zaragoza performing acoustically based music as a singer-songwriter might seem a complete departure. “It’s a side of my artistry that hasn’t been expressed,” Zaragoza says. “It was a natural progression.”

Zaragoza’s newest songs are illuminated in vivid detail on his debut solo EP, Child of the Sun. While the tracks include full production arrangements with drums and bass, two of the songs are presented in their most essential forms, with only guitar and Zaragoza’s compelling vocals.

With his new music, Zaragoza retains the intensity of a rock performer as he approaches the acoustic guitar percussively, highlighting harmonics and tapping techniques. “I acknowledge these roots, but the sound allows me to go deeper into a softer, acoustic realm,” he explains.

As a solo artist, he now has the freedom as a songwriter to create a quantity of songs, and then select the best ideas to complete, record and perform. Initially, he allows the lyrics and melodic ideas to exist only in his imagination. “Then it’s like a sling shot – I head back to my guitar and boom – the song is written.”

Working with Southern California- based producer Mikal Reid, whose resume includes artists like Mick Jagger and Ben Harper, the two tracked in Reid’s studio in the hills above the city, in what is Zaragoza describes as “An all wooden room. It’s like recording inside of an acoustic guitar.”

Originally from Reno, NV, Zaragoza was born to music. His late father, a formidable harmonica player, was a front man for local blues bands. Jamming in the garage until all hours was a family tradition. “My father instilled in me how important it is to play from the soul,” Zaragoza recalls. “When I picked up the guitar we played together with a musical relationship.”

Zaragoza formed the band Sinicle, who after building a substantial following with an impressive amount of regional performances, moved together to Hollywood, CA to attend Musicians Institute and launch a recording and touring career that has included concerts and festivals nationwide, bolstered by a notable series of albums.

With his evolution into an acoustically based singer-songwriter, Zaragoza notes that his life experiences guide the themes of his new songs, especially the transforming warmth of a deeply loving relationship. “We’re in a cultural cycle,” he concludes. “The backlash is to go back to the basics: Love is the most basic human need. My music is not about me, it’s about us.”

PARALLEL MOTION Releases Official Music Video for “Illogical”

Ep Art

Hard Rock Band PARALLEL MOTION has released the official music video for their single, “Illogical,” the title track off of their debut EP.

“To some people battling against anxiety might be an illogical story. But for those who live it, it’s a frightening experience. It’s a never-ending battle but music helps us take a message of hope to those in need.”

Player

“As a band, “Illogical” has a special place for us. It was actually the first song we ever made. From that moment on we realized we wanted Parallel Motion to be a band that gave the listener the confidence that they can do better as we’ve done better in our personal lives.

As fans of metal and hardrock we enjoyed listening to music that was very emotional in our upbringing. This music got us through a lot but most of those songs remind us of our past and become hard to revisit. We wanted to take a different approach when writing this ep. There were a lot of bad moments embodied in each song. But we wrote each of them in a way that instead of making us relive those bad moments it made us remember those memories as decisive moments that forged who we are today.” – PARALLEL MOTION

It was written about having fun regardless of our ages, the state of the government/ world, our genders, our race… The last line in the chorus says “Don’t ever let them know”.. the rest of the song is basically about partying like it’s summer! “A classic rock n’ roll quintet born and bred in the heart of western Kentucky form a powerhouse of a raw and electric modern slam band with monstrous guitars and Eagles-style vocals that carry near constant three part harmonies. Accompanied by a thundering rhythm section of groove running bass and wild n’ out, heavy hitting drum beats that act as a constant heartbeat to the already tight and locked in Bowling Green showmen, Kiss Kiss Bang have been one of the top tier, heavyweights of the local music scene for only a few years. Singin ‘N’ Slingin is the best body of work we’ve written so far. From start to finish, its rockin and groovin. We wanted to pay homage to our rock n roll roots and we did just that! Our leading track, ‘Money,’ is about what we all love and hate…..Money! We wanted to write about Money lyrically within the verses from both sides, having a lot and not having enough. In the end, Money makes this funny world go round. As a band we are wild, funny and always having a good time. This EP captures who we are. There are great rockin tunes like “The Hunter” and “Im Back” which are then rounded out with ” We Don’t Know This” and “Drunk” which each have a story of their own.

Orlando, FL based Alternative Rock Band WAKE UP HATE has released the official music video for the title track off of their debut EP, Deep Sleep.
“We started Wake Up Hate set on creating something unique and fresh for hard rock fans to listen to. We aim to push the boundaries of rock to new limits and break the monotony of rock bands trying to do what’s already been done before. 2019 will be flooded with new music. We’re just getting started.” – Jake Adkins (Vocals)

player 2

“If you like modern metal rocks with a radio-friendly sound, Wake Up Hate is for you. I hear a lot of similarities to the almighty Linkin Park. Mind you, their not ripping off the aforementioned masters of angsty metal, but they manage to challenge a lot of the same emotions and feelings throughout this EP. There’s a little bit of pop edge here and there to drop everything down a bit, only to build it back up to a frenzy with a heavy rock beat. Lyrically, Wake Up Hate seems to be more mature than many of the bands out there now and musically they’re very tight and synced on this outing. They have a very mature sound for a debut release. The band holds a lot of promise for the future with great tracks like ‘The Cycle”,’ ‘Deep Sleep.’ and ‘Love Me Like A Hurricane.’ Rock radio should take notice of these guys. Don’t be surprised if you hear these songs on your local rock station. Wake Up Hate is primed for the majors.” – XS Rock

JACLYN KENYON Releases Official Music Video for “Tombstone”

unnamed

Country artist JACLYN KENYON has released the official music video for her newest single, “Tombstone” Directed by Jordan Davies, the Mike Krompass produced track is the second single off of her upcoming, debut EP.

player

“Tombstone will bring you back to every heartbreak you’ve ever felt. The things you allow in life are the things that will continue and sometimes you have to realize that you’re in charge of your own happiness and that happiness might just mean it’s better to let go.” – Jaclyn Kenyon

IMG 9069 1

Not knowing who you want to be is a normal part of growing up. Sometimes you have to search again and again to find your voice and who you are. Most importantly, being confident enough at a young age to keep pushing yourself and having the drive to succeed and work hard is why Jaclyn Kenyon is poised to make a real impact in Music.

With influence from such legends as Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Michael Jackson, and excited about such newer young female artists like Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, “A little Rock n’ Roll and A LOT Country” is what you can see and feel just by meeting this 20-year-old Ontario native, who has been going back and forth to Nashville since she was a teenager.

Always a strong performer, Jaclyn has been on the stage since the age of 12, when she was the youngest performer ever in Canada’s all-female artist showcase Honey Jam, competing against artists twice her age. This prestigious showcase, Canada’s largest and best known, had launched the careers of Nelly Furtado and Jully Black.

At 15 years old Jaclyn caught the eye of world-renowned vocal coach and multi-platinum producer “Mama” Jan Smith who immediately saw her raw talent. “Jaclyn, as a writer, I believe she can write for anybody,” Mama Jan said of Jaclyn, “Stylistically, she really doesn’t have a lot of limits, which is awesome.”

After that Jaclyn was fortunate enough to learn more about herself as an artist with multi-platinum writers and producers in Nashville and Los Angeles where she spent time trying to find what inspires her

“People have always had me try and sing different styles, whether it was Country, Rock or Pop. I’ve always gone along and tried every idea to find my voice. I’ve even had producers make me sing ‘hard rock’ “, says Jaclyn recanting some of the musical adventures she went through as a teenager, “One producer kept telling me to lose my ‘country twang’ in my voice and I didn’t realize that was just a natural part of me.

Jaclyn’s first single off her upcoming EP, “Daddy’s Got A Shotgun,” was Produced by Mike Krompass and co-written with Nashville luminaries Clay Mills and Steve Diamond.

In addition, Jaclyn has been writing in Nashville with Producer Mike Krompass, and writers Robbie Nevil, Rich Redmond.

Said of her brand new song ‘Daddy’s Got A Shotgun’, ”This is a cute fun song I wrote about an overprotective father, …no matter how old you are you’re always gonna be your daddy’s little girl, right?

Jaclyn is getting ready for what’s next, “With the great fans I’ve been building, I’ll be able to play live more often than I thought” Said an excited Jaclyn “ I’ll let you know when I play next. Please keep listening and sharing my music”

Listen to Sylver Tongue’s Remix of ‘Something Big’

Listen to Post War Year’s Remix of ‘Something Big’ at Boxx Music Magazine

Sylver Tongue has just released her debut EP Something Big on Dancing Coins – the new label from a collective that includes Mute artist Al Spx of Cold Specks.

Sylver Tongue is the new project from Charlotte Hatherley (Ash, Bat For Lashes) – in this guise she uses battered old Juno keyboards to write the wounded pop songs that define a new chapter in her career. The name of the project is equally inspired by Phillip Pullman’s heroine Lyra Silvertongue and Japan frontman David Sylvian.

The title track from the EP is a powerful juggernaut of a single which showcases Charlotte’s compelling and melodic vocals alongside riotous percussion and robotic guitar solos.

‘Something Big’ sits nicely alongside early teaser ‘Hook You Up’ – a perfect slice of pop – which is deservedly given it’s first physical release on the EP. ‘Faraway Sun’ is another brand new track on the EP and demonstrates a darker, cinematic side to Sylver Tongue’s sound. Sedate, but no less arresting. The EP will be released digitally and on 12” vinyl and will also feature blog hyped debut single ‘Creatures’ – not previously available as physical.

Press Quotes
“Lusciously wounded vocals headline this purple-toned track, allowing it to possess a naked, sweeping force not unlike the great power ballads of decades past” RCRD LBL

“Backed by a band, offering up space-age synths and subtle glam stomps with the polish of a project far past its current infancy, Hatherley makes for a commanding lynchpin, stalking the stage with a thrillingly standoffish strut. From the meaty throb of ‘Creatures’ to the subtler, sultrier shimmers of ‘Hook You Up’ the set spills over with cold, futuristic washes of noise and stealthy fretwork.” NME

“Formerly of Ash and her own sparkling guitar-pop efforts, Hatherley picks up the synths for her new project, which is equally inspired by early new wave and sci-fi heroines. (Its name is a hybridized homage to the Philip Pullman heroine Lyra Silvertongue and Japan frontman David Sylvian.) Her whoops and hiccups on this all-momentum track reveal that her superpower might very well be her ability to mimic her instruments with her voice.” Village Voice
