MEATWOUND: Corrosive Tampa Outfit Completes Magic Bullet Records-Bound Second LP, Largo; Trailer Video + Live Footage Posted

Magic Bullet Records confirms the impending May release of Largo, the pummeling new full-length by Tampa, Florida‘s corrosive quartet, MEATWOUND, issuing a trailer and more on the LP.
After a successful run in support of their critically-acclaimed Addio debut, MEATWOUND has returned with seven more songs of ungodly sonic devastation with Largo. While a lot of the scuzzy, surging groove of the debut album can be found intact on Largo, the band has pressed down on the accelerator a bit, resulting in faster and more violent-sounding results this time around. The aural attack has once again been captured by Dan Byers at Rock Garden Studio, just south of Largo, Florida, with mastering by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound. As with the debut, the visuals have once again been executed by former Florida Man Chris Norris, aka Steak Mtn.

Largo is the second LP offering from Tampa’s MEATWOUND, the outfit’s depraved cast comprised of punk/hardcore scene veterans collectively hailing from the likes of Combatwoundedveteran, Holy Mountain, Headless Dogs, Primate Research, and others. Their Addio debut took home the “Best Heavy” trophy from Creative Loafing’s 2015 Critic’s Choice Awards, and was described in Decibel Magazine‘s review as, “a bassheavy, guitar-chaotic, drum-puncturing, vocal-strained noise-rock thing of beauty. Six tracks of ’90s worship that have plucked juicy bits from all over to create a lovely smorgasbord of punk, hardcore and pigfuck: the Jesus Lizard groove in ‘I Am Transgressor’; the cement mixer riffing in ‘Meat Pack’ reminiscent of Coalesce; the feedback breakdowns that drive a lot like Jehu; and even a few spazzy interludes that show the lineage back to the No Idea roster from yesteryear.”
MEATWOUND:
Ari Barros – guitar/choke selector
Dan Shook – vocals/master race traitor
Mariano Iglesias – bass/vocals/life force swindler
Leo Suarez – drums/organ trafficking

HOLMDEL, NJ | JANUARY 24, 2017: As New Jersey rock outfit Youth in Revolt gears up for their highly anticipated debut full-length, The Broken, to be released on February 17, 2017 with Outerloop Records, fans everywhere have been flooding social media, asking when they will be able to see the new lineup in full fruition. Today, the band has answered that call, as they announce a two-week tour kicking off the weekend of the album’s release. The tour will kick off on February 18, 2017 in Worcester, MA at The Raven and wind its way through the midwest hitting Chicago and St. Louis before heading south ending in Nashville and Newport, KY on March 3, 2017 at the Thompson House.
Youth in Revolt is a five-piece rock band hailing from New Jersey with musical similarities to bands such as  Sleeping With Sirens and Of Mice and Men. With sinister riffs, heavy breakdowns, and an array of catchy choruses, Youth In Revolt’s sound is nothing to be considered forgettable. After adding former Brightwell members Tanner Allen (vocals) and Arvin Sarathy (drums) to an impressive lineup with original members Kenny Torres (Vocals, Bass), Alex Ramos (Guitar), and Chris Coletti (Guitar), Youth in Revolt are in their biggest year yet. The band released the first piece of music with the new lineup, a cover of Ellie Goulding’s “Something in the Way You Move“on September 21st, to great acclaim. The band most notably broke into the scene touring alongside acts such as Capture the Crown, Ice Nine Kills, Palisades, and more. Following the debut of their cover of Lorde’s popular track, “Royals,” featured on Pop Goes Punk Vol. 6 and touring the Vans Warped Tour supporting their EP Love is a Liar’s Game in 2015, Youth in Revolt have gained a dedicated following that has highly anticipated the band’s next move.
Tour dates and additional information can be found below. Youth in Revolt’s debut album, The Broken, will be available on February 17th, 2017 via Outerloop Records. Pre-orders are available here and fans will be treated to an instant download of “The Broken,” “Not Giving Up,” and “Don’t Wait for Me.” Visit Outerloop.Group for more information.

Chinese Noise Punk Carsick Cars to Release New Album, Embark on US Tour + Free MP3

Track “15 Minutes Older” FREE for Fans

“A nervy, consonant euphoria” – New York Times
“The trio careens from spiky punk-pop to all-out noise bliss and back” – Village Voice

Carsick Cars is one of the most established indie rock bands in China. Their much anticipated third studio album 3, produced by Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3 and Hamish Kilgour of The Clean, in New York, is set to be released on February 28th, on Maybe Mars. For a FREE MP3 of the track “15 Minutes Older” to download click HERE.

Formed in 2005, almost from the very beginning Carsick Cars has been at the center of the musical explosion in Beijing and has received a mixture of snarling opprobrium, especially from some of their elders, and near-fanatic enthusiasm from their rapidly growing fan base among culturally sophisticated but alienated young Chinese around the country.

Their 20-city tour of China in March 2009 with label-mates The Gar has already passed into Chinese musical history as one of the key events in the development of the Chinese independent music scene, and their shows indicate how for many in the young audience Carsick Cars “belongs” to them as much as the young Bob Dylan “belonged” to his fans in the mid 1960s. Besides being one of the most admired and written-about bands in China, they have also received a huge amount of attention from musicians and critics in Europe and North America, having played in numerous festivals, most notably All Tomorrow’s Parties in the UK and the Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and toured with Sonic Youth in Europe.

Their second studio album was the long-awaited You Can Listen, You Can Talk a follow up of two years of explosive and almost joyful anger evoked in their first album, Panda Noise. Produced by P.K.14 frontman Yang Haisong, their first CD threw out into the Chinese indie scene some of its most iconic songs, including “Zhongnanhai”, widely seen as the anthem of disenfranchised Chinese youth, and “Rock and Roll Hero”, a standard for younger bands.
