ABOUT PIERCE THE VEIL:
Six years ago, Pierce the Veil was playing small clubs and side stages at Warped and other music festivals.  With the 2012 release of their album Collide with the Sky, PTV exploded, selling out North American and UK headline tours in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and headlining 2015’s Warped Main Stage.  The band spent years actively developing relationships with its fans through meet’n’greets while on tour (numerous poignant stories told to the band by fans have found their way into PTV’s songs) and extensive social media outreach, all of which has established the band’s massive, passionate and fiercely loyal fan base.  The band and its members have accumulated north of 5.5-million Facebook “likes,” as well as 4.5 million Twitter and 4.7 milliion Instagram followers, and 200-million-plus YouTube plays (the “King for a Day” video alone is at more than 68-million views).  Collide has been streamed more than 110 million times on Spotify, while the single “King for a Day” has been certified Gold and logged more than 27-million Spotify plays.  The band has won multiple awards from
Alternative PressRevolverKerrang! and Rock Sound.  PTV’s new album, Misadventures, released May 13, debuted at #4 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts, #1 on its Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative and Independent charts, and debuted in the Top 20 in the UK, Mexico, Australia and Canada.

Warped Tour Bands Tell You How Much Your Money’s Worth

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Out of all cases of breast cancer, 1 in 233 occur in wormen age 39 and younger. For young people age 39 and under, breast cancer screening, education, and prevention methods are not discussed, commonly recommended, and still not spoken about by most breast cancer non-profits. Every summer, the Keep A Breast Foundation, a breast cancer non-profit heads out with their Traveling Education Booth with the Vans Warped Tour to educate young people with life-saving information.

For every $2 spent on KAB’s Traveling Education Booth program, KAB has the opportunity to educate 10 young people on breast cancer prevention.

If interested in sharing what some of the hottest acts on the Vans Warped Tour had to say when asked – “What can you do with $2?” but more importantly, “What impact can your $2 have?” please visit our site here for an EXCLUSIVE VIDEO:  http://bit.ly/KABG2E10

We are pleased to announce The 6th annual ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL and The Keep A Breast Foundation are coming together on July 27th in Chicago IL, to draw worldwide attention to the prevention of breast cancer.  Keep A Breast will be providing shirts, bracelets, pins and accessories to all bands, sponsors, crew, etc and ask that everyone wear them in Chicago as KAB films a video to launch to show the world that Metalheads love boobies!!

Keep A Breast will be set up both in the Festival area, working with concert goers, and also in the backstage near press, launching a photo-sharing social media initiative on-site and taking video testimonials from bands on how cancer has impacted their lives, or sharing a message of support.

JEFF LOOMIS robbed in St. Louis, asks for donations to help out

309

Jeff Loomis and his band, currently on tour with SOILWORK, had their van broken into last night while in St. Louis. Loomis elaborates:

“Last night after our show in St. Louis, our tour van was broken into as we were grabbing a bite to eat before our drive to Dallas. We were parked in a well lit area in front of the restaurant. In the ten to fifteen minutes that it took for us to order our food and eat, all of our personal items such as laptops, cameras, musical equipment, cell phones, passports and money were stolen. We came outside to find the lock on the driver side door popped out of the van, and promptly called the police. A report has been filed and the van was fingerprinted, but the leads don’t seem promising. The police stated that this is apparently a common occurrence for the area. We are all in disbelief, but are very fortunate for everyone to be ok.

After discussing the situation as a group, we would like to try to continue on with this tour. But to be able to do this, we will need your help. We have all taken a huge hit financially, and we cannot continue on without some sort of support. We have set up a paypal account for any amount of donations to assist us for the duration of the tour.

Below is the paypal email to make donations to.

JLoomisbanddonation@outlook.com

Any and all support will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,”

BURGER RECORDS ANNOUNCES MIKE ATTA BENEFIT COMPILATION AND SHOW

Burger Records is known for their benefit comps, and it’s something that makes the label so special. As they say on their website, “It feels good to do good!” Previously releasing The Kitty Comp to benefit an ailing cat and The Weiner Dog Comp to aide, well, you get the idea, the label is super proud to release a compilation benefiting hardcore punk legend Mike Atta, who is battling cancer. Mike Atta is the guitarist and a founding member of one of the first hardcore punk bands, The Middle Class. Legend has it that Keith Morris started Black Flag after seeing The Middle Class play one of their early shows. Atta currently owns a vintage shop in Fullerton called Out Of Vogue, right around the corner from Burger, and has become a close friend, so his health is something the Burger Records folks hold near and dear to their hearts. To help raise money for Atta’s mounting medical bills, Burger is helping to put on a benefit show THIS FRIDAY, JAN. 25TH, AT THE ECHOPLEX IN LOS ANGELES, and releasing a compilation the following day on their website. All the money from other Burger merch sold at the show will go to Mike Atta as well.

Included on the compilation is a PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SONG BY THE MIDDLE CLASS. The song “Body and Soul” was recorded during the 1981 sessions that gave us The Middle Class’s only full-length, Homeland. We’re happy to share it with you and hope you can spread the word about this amazing show and compilation, and help Mike get healthy!

Tamara Bubble Wants To Make The World Better With Kickstarter Campaign

“We ain’t asking you to change the world. All we ask of you … Do Your Part!”~ Tamara Bubble

Tamara Bubble is an eclectic singer with an amazing voice and a mission to change the status quo.
Her Kickstarter campaign goal is set to raise $25,000 for the promotion of her album P.S.A. which tackles issues like the recent mass massacres, social injustice, and more.

“We as a society see violence against children, overcrowded prisons, widespread disease, missing persons, high crime rates in urban communities as the norm. On the news everyday and starting to become the rule instead of the exception. Well, we don’t have to accept it! This is a PSA! One person can’t change the world, but if everybody does their part, we can make a difference!”

Tamara Bubble intends to do her part in breaking this vicious cycle with her upcoming album release “P.ublic S.ervice A.nnouncement”. Tamara says this is her most meaningful and passionate album yet! She has already received support for the project from the following industry professionals:

Production by Superproducer Krazyfigz (@Krazyfigz)
Photography by Andre Michael Photography
Graphics by Carlton Brown
Public Relations by IAMPRAgency (@IamPRAgency)
Pspell Management (@TopShelfPro4Lif)
Commercials/ Music Video(s) by Manny Mac Productions (@MannyMacPnC)

We’re asking YOU, the Public, to help get her P.ublic S.ervice A.nnouncement out there. Help fund the promotion of the project including the cost of advertisements and promotional campaigns and merchandise. You can also ‘Do Your Part’ by sharing the PSA music and videos, but more importantly the message. We’re aiming to raise $25,000, but the more money we raise, the more we can promote Tamara’s P.S.A. We chose to go this route because we wanted a broad cross-section of people (THAT’S YOU) to honestly feel like they were a substantive part of building something that matters!

VATTNET VISKAR Auctions Off Limited Vinyl of Self-titled EP

Ambient blackened doom metallers VATTNET VISKAR will be auctioning off one of their personal vinyl copies of their self-titled EP (limited to 80) to raise money for the NH Community Behavioral Health Association. In regards to this auction, the band comments:

“Few times in our lives are we truly impacted by one single event. By now, we’re all aware of the horror that took place in Newtown, CT. But as the media leaves town and the networks stop the 24-hour coverage, the work for preventing another tragedy like this must be started. Although our resources are limited, we as a band would like to show our support.

Starting today, we will be auctioning off a vinyl copy of our 2012 self-titled EP. This is Chris’ personal copy of the Broken Limbs Recordings pressing which was limited to only 80. It will never be pressed again. All proceeds raised from this auction will be donated to the NHCBHA in the name of the winning bidder.

Although this ultimately may not lead to a large sum of money, music is all we have to give. Please pass this on.” — VATTNET VISKAR

To place a bid on VATTNET VISKAR’s self-titled EP, please click here to visit their eBay account (PayPal accepted). The auction ends Monday, December 31st.

The NHCBHA is an organization comprised of the ten community mental health centers throughout New Hampshire. These centers serve individuals in the state who are living with–and recovering from–mental illness and emotional disorders. In fiscal year 2009, this network of mental health centers provided ongoing and emergency behavioral health services to over 48,000 New Hampshire residents, a number that includes over 12,000 children. For more information about the NHCBHA, please visit: http://www.nhcbha.org/

Hailing from the small town of Plaistow, New Hampshire, VATTNET VISKAR is anything but small. Formed in the fall of 2010, the band has quickly risen amongst the ranks of US black metal acts with their self-titled EP (available at their Bandcamp page) that has been met with praise from both fans and the press alike. “On their debut EP…they had me hooked in a matter of seconds and salivating by the end of its 27 minutes. It’s an assured offering for such a young band,” lauds Brandon Stosuy of Pitchfork.com. In addition, Stereogum.com recently named VATTNETT VISKAR one of the “40 Best New Bands of 2012,” declaring their EP as “propulsive and brutal, yet ambient and expansive, in measures rarely seen from a genre that often expects its purveyors to be either/or.”

NJ’s Own WSOU Pirate Radio Hosts Radio-a –thon for Superstorm Sandy Relief.

Always a vital part of Seton Hall University from the time it signed on the air, WSOU began broadcasting on 89.5 FM on April 14, 1948. The station would never have gotten on the air without the dedication and inspiration of Monsignor Thomas J. Gillhooly, the station’s first faculty director.

Given the assignment by university president Monsignor James Kelly to create a radio station, Monsignor Gillhooly got WSOU up and running in just three months and provided a steady hand during the station’s early days. Assisting Monsignor Gillhooly in building WSOU was the station’s longtime chief engineer Tom Parnham, who helped construct the station and then remained with WSOU. A beloved teacher, mentor, friend and, of course, broadcast engineer, Mr. Parnham worked at WSOU from 1948 until his death in 1994.

New Jersey’s 89.5FM WSOU will be host a radio-thon collecting donations for Hurricane Sandy relief on Friday, November 30th. The radio-thon starts at 6AM and will run until midnight. They will be DJing regular rotation music and will be taking breaks to ask for donation. Listeners will be able to call up and pledge various amounts of money. If a listener pledges $25+, he/she will be mailed a WSOU prize pack (contains WSOU stickers, pens, bottle openers and a random CD). If the pledge amount is $50+ the listener will receive a special Hurricane Sandy relief t-shift we are making specifically for the occasion and the prize pack as well.

If the donation is $100+ the listener will receive a WSOU Hoodie, the shirt, and the prize pack. They will also be running raffles all day. Raffle tickets can be purchased separately at $25 each. Some of the prizes being raffled are a signed Slipknot poster (includes Paul Gray), a 3 Inches of Blood snowboard and a framed drum head signed by all members of Five Finger Death Punch. There are also many other signed pieces of memorabilia to be given away. Their goal is to raise $8950 by the end of the day. They will have a slew of guest DJs throughout the day as well.

For more info or to donate please link here

WSOU’s studios were originally located in the basement of the university’s recreation center. In 1998, the station was moved to a state-of-the-art facility inside a new addition to the recreation center.

Since its inception, WSOU has always been a student-run radio station. Although a noncommercial station, WSOU’s staff structure is modeled on commercial radio, which provides students with enriching career-oriented educational experiences. Opportunities for student staff members include on-air hosting (DJ), production, promotion, newscasting, sportscasting, programming, sales and marketing, and engineering. WSOU draws students from all university colleges and programs, including communications, business, biology, education, nursing, sports management and diplomacy.

During its 58-year history, WSOU has gone through many changes. But one thing has not change – WSOU remains consistently dedicated to enriching the lives of Seton Hall students while entertaining and enlightening its listening audience.

Formed in the wake of the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster in 2004, APE was the brainchild of founder Kenny Young and aims to raise awareness and funds for climate change and disaster relief projects.

To date the organization has mobilized some of the worlds biggest artists to help champion their cause and has provided funds to support over 300 projects worldwide, such as:

– Reforestation initiatives in the UK, Africa, Mexico and Brazil

– Wetland conservation in Uganda and orangutan conservation in Sumatra

– No Tar Sands, Anti-Fracking and Biofuelwatch campaigns

– A Special Award for the global Transition Towns movement

– … and in times of need, to help alleviate those suffering from natural disasters.

Funds raised from this campaign will support organisations working throughout Africa to mitigate the impacts of climate change and drought.

Kenny Young, Founder and Trustee of Artists Project Earth said, “Artists Project Earth is funded entirely by sales of Rhythms Del Mundo albums. If you value our work addressing climate change and environmental justice, then please do make a donation to this good cause by purchasing a copy of our new album. Unlike most charitable donations, you get something tangible and enjoyable in return – as well as the knowledge that you are actively supporting some really well-respected organisations and projects. We are known as the ‘Fairy God-Funders’ of the climate change movement – please help us to continue spreading our magic!”

MONUMENTS to Release New Single to Raise Funds for Cancer Sufferer

On October 20th, UK progressive tech metallers MONUMENTS will sell the previously unreleased track “Memoirs” as a special single to raise money for the treatment of a close friend of the band who has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer.

Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (or PMP) is a cancer of the appendix and is so rare that it can only be treated by a small number of specialists, none of whom are in the UK. Treatment must be sought internationally, and the costs are likely to exceed tens of thousands of pounds.

MONUMENTS’ Adam Swan (bass) explains: “Hi everyone! We will be releasing ‘Memoirs’ via Bandcamp as of October 20th. All proceeds will be going to our good friend Laura, who recently found out she has a condition called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (or PMP), a rare form of cancer of the appendix that affects less than one in a million people. We will be releasing ‘Memoirs’ to raise money for her as there are very few people in the world who are able to treat this condition and none are in the UK due to its rarity. She will have to travel abroad for the treatment and it will be extremely expensive. There will be a minimum donation of £2 for the track, however it’ll be possible to give as much as you want, so please give generously. We would like to give a big shout out to Neema Askari, Joe Garret, John Sprich, James Monteith, Mel Schmidt, Steve Joh and everyone at Century Media for making this possible so quickly. Thank you.”

Check out the “Memoirs” trailer here:

The band would also like to raise awareness about this condition as it is often misdiagnosed due to its extreme rarity. For further information about PMP, please read below:

“Memoirs” will be available for purchase on CD starting the first day of the Euroblast tour at all the shows, and it can be digitally downloaded via the band’s Bandcamp on October 20th.

MONUMENTS will be touring in support of their recently released debut full-length album, Gnosis. With its groovy, melodic ambience, Gnosis packs a progressive punch, which is further strengthened by the addition of Matt Rose’s broad vocal spectrum to the band. For a preview of the album, fans can listen to the previously released tracks “Degenerate” and “Doxa” online. A video for the track “97% Static” can also be viewed here:

To purchase Gnosis, please head over to iTunes for a digital copy or CM Distro for the album, plus a special CD/t-shirt bundle. Read on for a few reviews of MONUMENTS’ Gnosis:

Charity Album Rhythms Del Mundo: Africa

Coldplay, Beyoncé, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mumford & Sons, Plan B, Bruno Mars, REM and Fleet Foxes are just some of the superstar artists lined-up for this great release.

‘Rhythms Del Mundo: Africa’ is the latest project from Artists Project Earth (APE) and features high profile western and African musicians collaborating on exclusive African mixes of contemporary hits. APE travelled to Mali to record African musicians, Toumani Diabaté, Bassekou Kouyate, Ali Farka Touré Band, and Rokia Traoré. Sessions also took place in Kenya, South Africa and Swaziland. Members of Miriam Makeba’s band and Senegalese musicians also added their brilliant musicianship to the collaborative tracks.

‘Rhythms Del Mundo: Africa’ is the long-awaited follow-up to the 2006 smash ‘Rhythms Del Mundo: Cuba’, its successor ‘Rhythms del Mundo: Classics’ in 2009, and 2011’s ‘Rhythms Del Mundo: Revival’, all of which were released in aid of the charity Artists Project Earth (APE).
