LOS ANGELES, CA (September 19, 2016) VAMPS, the visually arresting Japanese rock band featuring HYDE (L’Arc-en-Ciel) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust), are back! There is a swell of activity surrounding the band, including new songs with major guests, a Fall 2016 headline tour across North America and working on their next full-length album.
VAMPS just dropped not one but two songs with blockbuster features: “Inside of Me” features Chris Motionless from Motionless in White, while “Rise or Die” was co-written with Emigrate and Rammstein guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe.
The songs are available via Spinefarm Records now. Get them on iTunes and Apple Music HERE or stream them on Spotify HERE. For a preview of the new tracks, go HERE and check out the official music video for “Inside of Me.”
HYDE spoke about the new material, which was written and recorded earlier this year in Los Angeles with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down). “The recording session with Howard Benson and his team was very creative,” Hyde said. “I truly enjoyed writing and recording these new songs. ‘Inside of Me’ contains themes of the forbidden and abstinence. ‘Rise or Die’ is a very catchy rock song that gets the audience pumped up when we play it live. I hope everyone likes these new songs.”
VAMPS will also crash U.S. soil for November headline dates and bring along special guest CITIZEN ZERO whose current single “Go (Let Me Save You)” is available through Wind-up Records and has already climbed up to #23 on the rock radio charts. Find out more about Citizen Zero here.
It’s a welcome return to America for VAMPS and the first time they will tour the U.S. since their special guest stint with SIXX:A.M. in Spring 2015. The tour kicks off November 7 in Los Angeles and will hit select major markets across the U.S., Canada and Mexico throughout November. Tickets go on sale at 1pm EST today – see a full list of dates and ticket links below.
VAMPS are coming back to the States,” enthused K.A.Z. “We will return to some of the cities we performed at with SIXX:A.M. and APOCALYPTICAlast year. We will be playing some new songs and this will be a great tour. We are very much looking forward to seeing all the rock fans out there!”
VAMPS just concluded several sold-out shows in their hometown of Tokyo, Japan with support from U.S. rock heavyweights IN THIS MOMENT and Finland’s finest, APOCALYPTICA, the latter of which previously collaborated with VAMPS on the 2015 single “Sin In Justice.”
The rest of 2016 will see VAMPS working on the follow up album to 2015’s Bloodsuckers and the band expects to return to the U.S. for more shows next spring.

Stars in Stereo Will Dazzle at Stage AE Friday May 17 with Bullet For My Valentine

Stars In Stereo, are a red-hot rock band from LA fronted by the magnificent siren Bec Hollcraft.  The band has a massive sound that was practically made for rock radio airwaves, with the potential to become the female fronted answer to 30 Seconds to Mars.  Formed in 2011, Stars In Stereo have exploded on to the rock scene in only a few short years.  The band just wrapped a tour with Flyleaf and Drowning Pool and are touring with Bullet For My Valentine, Young Guns and Halestorm in April/May.  Pittsburgh Music Magazine caught up with them while they were on the road, just before they were due to hit Pittsburgh…

We’ve heard you say in previous interview that you want to be road rats.  Does that sentiment remain true today?
Absolutely. We love being on the road and we know that’s where we are going to gain lifelong fans. We’ve seen significant growth and it’s very exciting.
What drew the band to cover “Closer” from Nine Inch Nails over other options?
We are all fans of the song, especially Bec. We all agreed that it would be really awesome to see a girl singing that song, so we sat down and made it our own.
As a DIY band, what is the most difficult aspect of maintaining that as you gain more attention?
I wouldn’t say we’ve seen too many difficulties yet. We are in full control of what we do, and there’s nothing anyone can offer us at this point that’s worth handing over any of that control.
Now that the LP is out and you are getting some prime spots on amazing tours, like Bullet For My Valentine and Halestorm, what are some of the short term and long term goals for the band?
Tour, tour, tour! We want to spend as much of this year on the road as possible. A short term goal would be to headline a small club tour as soon as possible. As for the long term, we just want to continually grow and progress as a band. We want the crowds to get bigger and bigger and we want to have a very long career.
If you could collaborate with any musicians in the business today who would they be and why?
That’s a tough one! We all have such different tastes, so I’m sure you would get a different answer out of each of us. Some of the bands we collectively look up to are 30 Seconds to Mars and the Foo Fighters. I’m sure collaborating with either of those bands would be amazing. Sitting down with Daft Punk would be incredible too. We have a bit of an electronic side that would need satisfying.
Can you relate to our readers any stories about some great fan interactions that you have had?
There are so many. Any time we see people in the crowd who know all the words and are singing their hearts out, it’s an incredible feeling.  Seeing the overall transformation of the crowd every night is awesome too. Many of them have never heard of us, but you can almost see the wheels turning throughout the set, and by the end it’s just one big rowdy, sweaty, mess of new SinS fans.
Who are some the most influential people in your lives… musicians, non-musicans, family, etc.?
We are all very close with our families and I’m sure we would all cite our parents as our first major supporters in each of our lives. After that, you have the musicians that inspired us and guided us, which is different for everyone.
Where are some of the favorite spots you have been able to experience on tour?
We like a lot of different places for a lot of different things. Some of our favorite venues are House of Blues Boston, The Marquee in Tempe, and The Paramount in Long Island. Aside from that, we have been fortunate to see a lot of this country and experience places we otherwise wouldn’t have visited.  We had a day off in Missoula Montana once that turned out to be really awesome.

Bullet Tooth signs The Smoking Hearts from the UK

Bullet Tooth is excited to announce the signing of The Smoking Hearts from the UK! The band will release their Bullet Tooth debut album “Victory!” this summer in North America and Japan. Playing with the likes of The Used, Asking Alexandria, Gallows, Andrew WK, and many more, The Smoking Hearts have cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting young bands in the U.K.

In fact, Jay and Moose from Bullet For My Valentine recently told the UK press, “We think everyone should check out The Smoking Hearts this year, they are good mates of ours. A brilliant band, think Motörhead on more speed beating up the Anti-Nowhere League then bumming The Ramones. Seriously, think about that. They have a new album out this year called ‘Victory!’, a definite recommendation.”

Joining the family at Bullet Tooth and having labelmates like Affiance, Throw The Fight, First Blood, Serianna, Death Ray Vision, and more, was important to the band. Calvin Roffey (Bass) commented, “I’m really excited that The Smoking Hearts have joined Bullet Tooth. It’s great that we’re able to release Victory! with a group of people that understand what we’re about as a band, and can help us reach new people that will rock out with us. Really excited to work with the people that have bought us some of of our favourite bands through the years, and together put The Smoking Hearts on the map.”

Vocalist Ben Mills also checked in, “Feels good to finally have a US home, and on such a killer label as Bullet Tooth – we had such a great time when we went to the States for SXSW and Houston we have a problem, be good to finally have a release out in the US and Japan, to give us a reason to come back.”

There is no such thing as a dull moment for The Smoking Hearts. Live shows have seen guitars smashed and drum kits sprawled across stages and it is not uncommon to find half the band playing in the crowd while singer Ben Mills is in the back of the venue, on the bar, or hanging from the rafters, all the while coercing the crowd into joining the party.

After releasing their debut album Pride of Nowhere to rave reviews from the British music press (KKKK – Kerrang!, 8/10 Rocksound, 8/10 NME), The Smoking Hearts hit the road on their first national tour to support the release, wreaking havoc throughout the U.K. and Europe.

With the release of their new album Victory! coming this summer, The Smoking Hearts are getting ready to show the world the result of those writing sessions. Once again proving that their unique blend of high-energy Rock ‘N’ Roll has the dexterity to resonate with Punk, Metal, and Hardcore crowds alike.

Recorded with Dan Weller and Justin Hill (Enter Shikari, Young Guns), and recorded over a period of four weeks in Fortress Studios, London, Victory! is an aptly titled record. Clocking in at just over the 30 minute mark, Victory! is a celebration, a testament to The Smoking Hearts’ DIY/ ‘never say die’ approach to life on stage and off. Featuring guest backing vocals from over 40 of the band’s friends, Victory! is a party of an album, the soundtrack to every good night out.

The past 18 months have seen The Smoking Hearts go from their bedrooms, to clubs throughout the U.K. and Europe, destroy down in Australia as part of Soundwave Festival and even wreak havoc in the United States. Now, with the release of their new album, The Smoking Hearts intend on celebrating their victory worldwide.

Stay tuned for new music, videos, tour dates and more from The Smoking Hearts! Catch the band LIVE this coming weekend (February 10) at The Grand Hall 2 in Cardiff, UK with Bullet For My Valentine.

“Worthy contenders to take Gallows “Kings Of British Punk crown.” – NME

A brilliant band, think Motörhead on more speed beating up the Anti-Nowhere League
then bumming The Ramones. Seriously, think about that. They have a new album
out this year called ‘Victory!’, a definite recommendation.” – Rocksound

“The aural equivalent of Bad Religion going ten rounds with Gallows
in a cage fight. Likely to give you a black eye just listening to it.” – Q

“This is head banging, beer-spitting, ear-bleeding Rock ‘N’ Roll at its loudest
and proudest… Boasting enough power to raise the dead” – Kerrang!

“Equally known for destroying venues as they are for their
balls-to-the-wall take on punk rock.” – Noisecreep/AOL Music

“Their incendiary songs and live energy is pure perspiration soaked entertainment
to the max. These boys deserve your attention and deserve to be huge.” – Big Cheese

“Pairing up Bullet for My Valentine singer and guitarist Matt Tuck on the six-string assault and Cancer Bats vocalist Liam Cormier on chief vocal duty, Vultures not only exceeds the high expectations, it raises the bar for the genre. ” 5/5 – Artist Direct

It takes just one listen to AxeWound’s “Post Apocalyptic Party”, the ferocious track they released as a free introductory download back in May, to make their intentions abundantly clear. Which is to say, they are a metal band… proudly, defiantly and unbendingly so.

Their pedigree is inarguably first class – since they feature guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck from Bullet For My Valentine and singer Liam Cormier of Canadian hardcore bruisers Cancer Bats, prime movers both in two of the most exciting bands to have emerged onto the metal scene in recent years.

The line-up is completed by drummer extraordinaire Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter), guitarist Mike Kingswood (Glamour Of The Kill) and ex-Rise To Remain bassist Joe Copcutt. Not surprisingly, they have already been branded a ‘supergroup’ in the press.

AxeWound see themselves in more precise terms. This, they say, is an outlet for them to make music that is more extreme than they can and do in their regular bands. Their inspirations for doing so hark back to a golden generation of metal acts – to such heavyweight names as Pantera and Slipknot.

“Those were the bands that I adored growing up,” says Matt Tuck. “They each had that ‘don’t give a fuck’ attitude. AxeWound is about us taking the same opportunity to do exactly what we want. Musically, lyrically, it is what it is – no boundaries or limits.”

The roots of AxeWound go back to 2010, when Jason Bowld filled in for Bullet For My Valentine drummer Michael ‘Moose’ Thomas on a brace of shows. He and Tuck kept in touch and last year began discussing working together on a project separate from the hugely successful Welsh metallers. They eventually got together in December 2011 to write the songs that make up AxeWound’s debut album, Vultures.

Cormier was the obvious choice to front and pen lyrics for these songs. He and Tuck had been friends for years, Cancer Bats having supported Bullet For My Valentine on numerous tours.

“There was no one else I even had in mind,” says Tuck. “Liam’s voice alone is just so vicious.”

The Vultures album was recorded in Cardiff at the start of this year, regular Bullet For My Valentine collaborator Martin ‘Ginge’ Ford engineering the sessions. From the outset, the aim was to work quickly and instinctively. In the event, they recorded 11 songs in 11 frenetic days.

“It was very intense, very demanding but that’s how we wanted it to be,” reasons Tuck. “No pre-writing, no rehearsing… just booking a studio and going in and doing a song a day. We wanted to capture something that happened right there and then.”

Says Cormier: “The record is great because it’s been made by a bunch of friends who are just enjoying themselves playing together and doing something that’s different to what they normally do.”

By any measure Vultures is a terrific debut. It is, as was intended, a thoroughly uncompromising beast: standout songs Burn Alive and the title track being driven by venomous riffs, the former in particular echoing the sort of thrilling assault administered by the likes of Slayer and Sepultura in their pomp. Yet Tuck’s melodic gifts are in ready supply too on hulking tunes like ExoChrist and the epic Collide.

“Doing what I do in Bullet, I know what people want in every sense from a band like this,” he says. “Whether they are fans of hardcore metal or of classic melodic metal. We’ve tried to encompass all of that into one brutal, nasty machine.”

There is as well a sense of weight and substance to AxeWound. Tracks like Victim Of The System, Blood Money And Lies and Church Of Nothing reflect on the state of things right now.

“Liam’s a very switched on guy,” considers Tuck. “He knows what’s going on in the world. Some of the things he’s written about here, you’re not hearing from any other metal band these days.”

Says Cormier: “I love that there’s a political side to what we’re doing. It’s not specific but it is saying that the world is fucked. That attitude completely fits with the music.”

Interest in AxeWound has been rabid enough for them to be featured on the cover of Kerrang! magazine and will intensify through a spate of live and festival dates this summer. The release of Vultures at the end of July will assuredly bring it to fever pitch.

Of course, with Matt Tuck also currently finishing up the writing of Bullet For My Valentine’s next record, it remains to be seen if AxeWound is to be repeated. But for now – and as the band would have it – it is what it is: a glorious one-off.

“This is what comes out when I’m given free rein,” concludes Tuck. “It was the right time to let my hair down… and let Satan compel me.”
