3TEETH @ Rex Theater on July 15th

LA based industrial band 3TEETH, who recently released their 2nd full-length album,<shutdown.exe>, via OMF Records. This record is phenomenal and will undoubtedly go down as one of the year’s best industrial metal releases. The band is currently riding a wave of momentum following last year’s tour with TOOL, which sparked a media firestorm of buzz. Now they’re returning to cement their place as the most buzzed about band of 2017 with <shutdown.exe>.
<shutdown.exe> was produced by 3TEETH, mixed by Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle) and mastered by Howie Wienberg (Deftones, Nirvana, Pantera, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden).
The band will be performing in Pittsburgh at Rex Theater on July 15th.
Formed in 2013, 3TEETH is an L.A.-based transgressive artistic collaborative consisting of Alexis Mincolla (vocals), Xavier Swafford (keys), Andrew Means (drums) and Chase Brawner (guitars). Inspired by the early ‘90s industrial scene and acts like Ministry and NIN, the four-piece boasts a unique amalgam of aggressive sounds and compelling visual art that, combined with their cynical humor and provocative propaganda, ultimately asks fans to join their assault on consensus-based reality.

The group released its self-titled debut album in 2014 and was promptly hailed as a welcome return to the old school industrial sound of the ‘90s that eschewed EBM’s techno beats in favor of grinding grooves, atmospheric keyboards, crunchy guitars and heavily distorted vocals.

Meanwhile, the band developed an intense live show that unleashed the cathartic chaos contained in their studio recordings. On 3TEETH’s stage, the band’s brutal sonics get paired with a dense array of images brought together by the mesmerizing performance of frontman Mincolla. The group saw its creative efforts pay off in a major way when metal giants TOOL handpicked 3TEETH to support them on their 2016 world arena tour with Primus.

Preparation for the band’s next album began in earnest shortly after the tour with new material being written and recorded. Two singles from the album, “Degrade” and “Atrophy,” were released, the latter of which was accompanied by a concept video, and both songs demonstrated that 3TEETH had hit a new creative peak. Sean Beavan, producer and mixer who has worked on albums by NIN, Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle, Slayer and more, was brought in to take the band’s recordings to the next level. The final album was then mastered by Howie Weinberg (Pantera, TOOL, Rammstein) resulting in by far the heaviest sounds the band has ever conjured.

Chart-topping hard-rock act Avenged Sevenfold will hit the road in North America for the “Shepherd of Fire Tour,” based on the band’s single of the same name, which hit No. 1 on both the Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts. “Shepherd of Fire,” from A7X’s current album Hail To The King, is the second single to reach No. 1, in addition to the title track.

The “Shepherd of Fire Tour,” which kicks off on April 12th in British Columbia, will hit arenas in the United States and Canada. The band will also headline the U.S.’s biggest rock festivals, Carolina Rebellion, Rise Above Fest, and Rock on The Range.

Avenged Sevenfold will be joined by Hellyeah on the Shepherd of Fire Tour as support.

Hail To The King topped the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart upon its release in August, making it A7X’s second consecutive No. 1 debut. The album also went to No. 1 in Brazil, Canada, Finland, Ireland, and the U.K. The Huntington Beach, Calif., band has become known for its spectacular live shows, routinely selling out arenas worldwide and headlining some of the most prestigious music festivals. They are scheduled to perform five shows at the Soundwave Festival in Australia starting February 22nd, and will spend the summer headlining Europe’s biggest rock festivals, including Rock Im Park, Rock Am Ring in Germany, the PinkPop Festival in Holland, and the U.K.’s biggest rock festival, Download at Donington Park. Avenged Sevenfold Return’s With Hail to the King

After being a longtime Avenged Sevenfold fan ever since Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, A7X has never failed when it comes to getting bigger and better with every turn. Every album they have ever released was always something different but you could always tell it was them. Constantly striving to raise the bar and beat out everyone else. Now here we are, album number six, they continue to carry on after the hardest album they ever had to finish (Nightmare 2010) after the death of founding member James “The Rev” Sullivan.
Now originally, Nightmare was never supposed to be finished and released. After losing The Rev, the band was actually done for a couple of months. Instead the album was finished with the help of Mike Portnoy (Ex- Dream Theater, Adrenaline Mob) and they went on the biggest world tour of their lives. Headlining some of the biggest festivals in the entire world was another highlight in their careers. After Portnoy’s departure, the band ended up recruiting Arin Ilejay (Ex- Confide) who had big shoes to fill but he fell right into place and they ended up recording two singles in the meantime with them. Not Ready to Die and later on Carry On were both born. Except both of those songs were not examples of what direction the band was going to end up heading. Instead they decided on going old school metal by simplifying a few things by giving it a more driving and powerful force in their songs.
After taking some time off after a very long tour, it was time to hit the studio. This time around A7X wanted something to a Black Sabbath and Guns N’ Roses style. At that moment, Arin was actually given homework so he could learn the style they wanted him to play. Not an easy task since the drums needed to be simplified but powerful at the same time. More importantly, it needed to have a groove to it. Constant writing and critiquing every little thing they could to make this album something to be more than just proud of. This is the first album without The Rev. and to follow up after Nightmare was easier said than done. In the end, the record came out exactly how they said they wanted it to. Not much you can say if it turns out like that.
Hail to the King is set to release next week. But before that, itunes is having a full-stream of the album all this week. After listening to it three times so far, my opinion on it has not changed. The old school metal vibe is there without a doubt. The riffs were great as always but they have never disappointed before. Drums were very powerful, giving that drive behind everything else. Vocals covered all areas which has never been a problem for M. Shadows. On the down side though, it’s Avenged Sevenfold and they just didn’t have the dueling guitars that we all know and love. Drums were a bit lame this time around. Lastly, I was not a fan of the lyrics and placement of the highs and lows as much. Then again, this record is exactly what they wanted, it’s what they said it would be, so what more do you want? The opening track, Sheppard of Fire, was another great way to start off an album. This Means War had probably the sickest riffs out of the entire album. It was just such a head banging song you could blare out of your speakers. Then we have the last three songs which were by far the best on the album; Coming Home, Planets, and Acid Rain. Now those three reminded me so much more of Avenged Sevenfold. What a great way to end an album none the less. They defiantly pulled out all the stunts on these three. There is just so much going on between all of the guitar solos, the orchestra instruments, piano, and harmonics it was just unreal. It defiantly caught my interest a lot more.
For fans of Black Sabbath, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, etc… this is an album you need to check out if you have been craving some new old school style metal. For those who like the older Avenged Sevenfold, this may not be for you. Only a diehard Avenged Sevenfold can support this album like all the rest. Just remember that all of their albums have sounded different. So who knows what we can expect from them next. I give Hail to the King 7 out of 10.

Avenged Sevenfold Releases A Sneak Peak

Just yesterday, May 9th, Avenged Sevenfold has finally released another little clip to their “Mystery Radio” on their website.  The mysterious radio appeared on their website only a few weeks ago.  In the mean time, they have been randomly tweeting things to get fans extremely pumped for the new record.  It has defiantly grabbed the attention of their fans and raised a lot of questions.  Now, on the last channel of the radio you get to hear an instrumental preview of a new song and you also get to hear M. Shadows talking about finding inspiration after “Nightmare” and how excited he is for the new record which is set to release sometime this year.  The sound clip that you get to listen to has a real nice metal vibe and groove to it.  You get the Avenged Sevenfold feel but it reminds you a bit of Black Sabbath when you listen to it.  All though they are taking their time with it, so far it’s worth the wait.  M. Shadows also mentions that the record is taking longer than expected, but they wanted it to be some of their best work and make sure they are more than comfortable with it.  As of now, I am beyond excited for this new album after hearing the new clip.  Keep a look out for more Avenged Sevenfold clips randomly popping up until they finally announce a release date and more.

FAREWELL, MY LOVE to Release Mirror Mirror EP February 19th

Rock n’ Roll should be larger than life. Rock stars are superheroes who take the stage propelled by a pomp and circumstance rivaling the royalty of old. They adopt fantastical personas that enrapture an audience, transporting participants away from their every day struggles and problems into a world of freedom and possibility.

Mirror, Mirror the band’s debut EP will be released February 19th. Today Absolute Punk is hosting an exclusive stream of the single and title track “Mirror, Mirror”. Check it out HERE. In addition the band has unveiled the artwork and tracklisting for Mirror, Mirror.

FAREWELL, MY LOVE has arrived carrying the torch aloft for a new generation hungry for the power, energy and magnetic combustibility inherent in the best rock. The five young men of FAREWELL, MY LOVE have come together to share their individual hardships, triumphs and passions through a collective vehicle. They’ve taken the sum total of the lives they’ve lived thus far and fashioned them into a unique weapon to hand over to their audiences for the mutual uplifting of all involved.

The conceptual artistry and theatricality of My Chemical Romance, the reckless danger and skillful musicianship of Avenged Sevenfold, the dark mystique and anthem-inducing sing-alongs of AFI and the brash experimentalism and attitude of 30 Seconds to Mars are all components that have a home in the FAREWELL, MY LOVE manuscript. With forceful determination and wonderfully soaring grandiosity, Farewell, My Love put a unique spin on theatrical hard rock with utmost dedication.

Standby Records was proud to ink a deal with the band and put them into Cleveland, Ohio’s Studio D Productions with producer Don Debiase, who has worked with Modern Day Escape, Beneath the Sky and For All Those Sleeping. The resulting debut full-length and EP feature the kind of music that is sure to skyrocket the young quintet.

Ryan Howell’s intense and diverse vocals sit atop the heavy, precise and melodic guitar work of Röbby Creasey and Logan Thayer, all ably backed by the percussive but tasteful rhythm section of bassist Charlee Conley and drummer Chad Kowal. Additional instrumentation, including string arrangements and bells, bolster the band’s guitar-driven rock, adding to the artistic atmosphere on display throughout.

A band with many dimensions from their music, to their lyrics, their stage show, their videos, their image and their concepts, FAREWELL, MY LOVE present true emotion, authentic passion and pour their hearts and souls into everything they do. FAREWELL, MY LOVE aspires to nothing less than to be a hill of hope in the flood of life.

Avenged Sevenfold Plan New Music

Most fans were pretty sure Avenged Sevenfold would carry on, but with little in output since the death of drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan except ‘Carry On,’ associated with ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ video game, there was little to solidify intentions of the band’s future.

According to The Pulse of Radio A7X has delved into writing new music since August, “The album is coming along very nicely. We’re excited to get in the studio. We have about six songs that I’m really happy with right now, and we’re continuing to write every single day…I try not to say too much about the album because you know how the Internet world is, so I’ll just say this: We have a direction, we’re sticking to that direction and we feel really very happy writing in these terms that we’ve laid out for ourselves,” stated singer M. Shadows. Estimates for the new album are July of 2013.

Avenged Sevenfold New Tune “Carry On”

Avenged Sevenfold have found time to record a brand new track for the upcoming video game Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

The song is the first new music from the band since another tune recorded for the first Call of Duty: Black Ops game, 2011’s “Not Ready to Die.”

There is no word yet when the band will begin work on the follow-up to 2010’s Nightmare.

The album is produced by the band with co-producer assistance from world-renowned metal producers Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold) and Chris “Zeuss” Harris (Suicide Silence, All That Remains, Shadows Fall).

Guitarist Wayne Lozinak states, “I’m very excited that the album is tracked! It was a great experience working with Zeuss and Josh Wilbur on this one. Every song is heavy, straight and to the point, in keeping with the traditional HATEBREED sound. Can’t wait to put some of these songs in the set and start playing them live!”

HATEBREED bassist Chris Beattie went on to say, “This is the album that HATEBREED fans have been waiting for – catchy, ignorant and full of energy!”
