Arcanium’s Ontogenesis ‘Steps Into Uncharted Metal Territory’

With a recently acquired distribution contract through The Orchard/Rocket Science Ventures and a full-page spread in Revolver Magazine, Arcanium has released what they refer to as a “step into uncharted metal territory,” with their second album Ontogenesis. The album is quickly bestowing its fierce revolutionary pandemonium upon metal fans everywhere, garnering well-deserved worldwide recognition. “We went so far outside of the ‘normal’ way of writing songs with this album that we felt it didn’t fit into any existing genre and deserved an entirely new one, so we made our own and called it ‘Innovative Metal,'” proclaims J.Sinn, the band’s lead vocalist. “Yeah, people will always try to throw you into some existing category or sub-genre, but this is truly different, heavy as fuck but with a lot of peaks and valleys. You want to hear it for yourself.” Teaming up with videographer Roy Warner (Battlecross, Havok, etc.), the band has shot and is now editing a video for “Severed Moment,” track five of eleven from the new album. The video will make its premiere July 10, 2013. Pick up a copy of Ontogenesis today. Available everywhere.

One of Denver’s most successful metal bands, Arcanium, is proud to announce the joining of new bassist Ryan Dehart.

Since the birth of Arcanium in the year 2007, they have overcome many challenges that stood in their way. After being thrown into the national music scene with such notable bands as Megadeth, Machine Head, Suicide Silence, Bullet for my Valentine, Otep, Ill Nino, Butcher Babies, and One Eyed Doll, the band has made a few changes along the way. Ryan Dehart joins the Arcanium family early in 2013 to embark on the nation and worldwide touring that stands ahead of them. “It feels great to have a solid lineup that we can depend on, and to bring another person into the writing process for the record we are working on now, which should be released sometime in 2014.” Says J-Sinn, Arcanium’s lead vocalist. Dehart, an accomplished tattoo artist and owner of Bombshell Bodyworks in Greeley, CO exclaims “I can’t wait to see what the future holds, I’ve known a couple of these guys for years and it’s pretty bad ass to join them and represent what they have worked so hard for. I am excited to begin the writing process with them as well and to be a part of the band on a permanent basis.”

The band’s sophomore record Ontogenesis is set for release in stores and digitally on June 18th 2013 and Arcanium will appear live on July 20th 2013 at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins, CO. As they eagerly await the arrival of their newest record, Arcanium states that they will be touring through the rest of 2013 as much as possible.

One of Denver’s most successful metal bands, Arcanium, is back with their highly anticipated sophomore release, Ontogenesis. This unrelenting barrage of metal cuts like a chainsaw with surprising surgical precision. The album is set to hit the streets on May 7th, 2013.

In perpetual forward motion since it’s 2007 conception, Arcanium has toured with such notable groups as Megadeth, Machine Head, Suicide Silence, Otep, and Ill Nino, capturing the attention of an extensive fan base. Ontogenesis is a testament to the band’s skill, hard work, and dedication: this intensity permeates the album from beginning to end. “Arcanium is a very interesting band. They are going to have some good things,” exclaimed Dave Mustaine of Megadeth during the 2009 End Game Tour featuring Arcanium. “Ontogenesis is not only our sophomore album, it’s our rebirth into the worldwide music scene,” says J Sinn, Arcanium’s lead vocalist. “The new sound of Arcanium since the addition of our second guitarist Adam Stewart has changed incredibly. Our fans across the world will dig the new intense sound.” As Arcanium eagerly awaits arrival of the release date, they will prepare for their album release party, which will take place in Fort Collins, CO. Following the record release, the band plans extensive national and worldwide touring through mid and late 2013.

Arcanium and Fans Clash with Police in Cheyenne WY

Some of you may have heard about the trouble Arcanium had recently in Cheyenne, WY…here is an update from the band-

Policed Events of Cheyenne, WY “Zombie Fest” 09/29/2012:

The day had started out as an innocent niche festival of horror fans gathered together for an all day celebration of the popular horror sub-culture, zombies. As rain cleared and night drew near, a large crowd of these fans had made their way to the main stage of the festival to watch the night’s headlining heavy metal act Arcanium. As chants grew louder and impatience became the behavior of standard, Arcanium began their set, coming out with heavy guitars, loud drums and, profanity. The start of their set caused an immediate participation of heavy metal fans partaking in an activity considered to be normal at heavy metal concerts called “moshing”. Zombie Fest event coordinators and local police were deeply concerned and confused by what they were seeing. After a few songs had gone by, local Cheyenne WY police had driven their cars through the crowd of people in an attempt to stop this “completely unacceptable and violent behavior” that heavy metal fans consider to be normal, then proceeded to get out of their cars in riot gear carrying aluminum baseball bats and shields detaining a large portion of the crowd, lining them up on the streets to await a ride to the police station. They then informed the band’s lead singer “J-Sinn” that if he were to continue to use profanity, they would stop the band’s set. J-Sinn, offended and angered by the request, held up a sign for the audience containing one of these words, provoking them to chant it with him, therefore taunting the police. The crowd along with the rest of Arcanium had yelled it out loud with him for the police to hear. The police then told Arcanium to discontinue their performance but the band continued and at this point the police began to take action, starting with the arrest of a fan who had yelled profanity with the rest of the audience. Police turned off power to the event speaker system and lights, not knowing how to cut power to Arcanium’s equipment, then Arcanium turned up their guitars and continued to play, causing the police to use physical force. Adam, a guitarist for the band, was chased around the stage while yelling profanity until detained while Seth, the band’s bass guitarist, plugged his bass guitar back in and continued to play. The band did not stop playing as a whole until they finally cut all power and physically removed the band’s drummer Charley’s drumsticks from his hands. J-Sinn was detained by police and is currently awaiting a court date set for next month. Cheyenne fans that were also detained and arrested are shocked and in disbelief at the way the situation was handled by their local police department and plan to dispute the charges presented to them. The members of Arcanium nor do the Cheyenne WY police have any comments at this time.
