Brooklyn-based psych pop singer Sophia Knapp and smooth Stockholm pop duo AOP have joined forces to take you on a magic carpet ride through a shimmering sonic landscape. OnRecord Store Day, these longtime friends will release the collaborative “Times Square”/”Sweet May” 7″, featuring sunny hooks, doom-filled lyrics and languid, expansive musical vignettes via Electric Ragtime. Each 7″ includes an 18″ x 21″ full-color, foldoutposter designed by Sophia. Additionally, the tracks will be available to purchase digitally onApril 23rd.
Knapp’s debut album, Into The Waves, featuring duets with Bill Callahan, was released last year on Drag City. AOP — Mattias Gustavsson (Dungen, Life on Earth) and Martin Fogelström (touring member of Phenomenal Handclap Band, First Aid Kit) – will release their debut full-length of dance floor diamonds in the months to come.
